We were in San Antonio for our son's graduation from USAF basic trng and wanted to be close to the base. When we arrived, the neighborhood was sketchy and the outside of the property looked rundown and no curb appeal. Most of the inside was fine but there were stains on the couch and cigarette burns in the furniture (non smoking house). The kitchen had a small/apartment size frig, the countertops were a rubberized coating that was melted in areas. There are very minimal dishes in the kitchen. The back door had beer tabs, bottles and cigarette butts laying on the ground. We stayed 4 nights and heard the front door trying to unlock during the night so did not feel safe. 3 days after we returned home, the host tried to make a damage claim against us since we had coverage with our reservation. After calling the company and making a complaint about the false accusation, I was told the host had the wrong reservation and the damages were done by another group. Always make sure you have coverage and follow up if the claim is not true. It was a learning experience.
