Big House on the Dunes, Walk to the Mighty Pacific

The beach is always good so we had fun in spite of our disappointment in the house which is much more used than the promotional photos indicate, is not that close to the beach, cannot realistically handle 9 people, has adequate bedding for 6 and parking limited to 2 cars. There is additional alternative sleep possibilities, but those alternatives are useless. Also, the oven is minimally effective and the bottoms of the drawers in the refrigerator were mostly dirty. Undoubtedly, this was likely a fine property at one time, but it needs attention now. Certainly not worth the premium cost to stay there. The four stars given are reflective of the beauty of the beach and the opportunities for fun and enjoyment scattered through the area, all compensation for our facility disappointment.

The property was very nice and clean. Quiet neighborhood. I wish there would have been access directly to the beach but the view was beautiful. The couches were made of feathers and we consistently had feathers all over the ground. The host called to warn us of a tsunami warning at 7:40 pm.Which was much appreciated Overall our stay was wonderful.

Beautiful view clean spacious welcoming home close to beach!

The is a beautiful home with a large open living space for families to enjoy meals, games and sunsets together. The house was clean and appointed with nice furniture throughout all the rooms. The all the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and had plenty of towels, the kitchen was well stock with everything you need to cook a meal. I grilled up steaks and salmon on the deck. The hot tub was a huge bonus! Just book this place, you'll love it. Just a note, there's not direct access to the beach from the back yard of the house as there's a fenced property between the home and the beach but no worries, the beach is a a 10 min walk or a 3 min drive away. Host was professional and courtesy as well!

Lovely property! Very clean. Owner responded super fast to all my questions. Beds super comfy. No direct access to the beach (like to walk straight from the house) as it is on top of a 50 foot cliff (I didn’t know that from the google maps). But the public beach access to the north is close and the walk is not bad. Bring your own beach towels. The only things that would have made the stay better would be more kitchen towels (include a wash cloth?) and more hooks for bath towels. I would totally stay here again!!

We had a great girls trip to the beach. Everything was clean and cozy. We love having a full kitchen for cooking and the large dining table was perfect for meals and games. The view from the balcony is gorgeous and watching the sunset from inside or out was a treat.

Nice floorplan and location. Needs some maintenance, broken blinds and stove light wouldn't go off. Stove and oven need cleaning. Christmas decorations were very nice. House decor was very nice. No cable TV only streaming. Overall nice comfortable house.

This was a nice clean house. The view was wonderful and we loved listening to the ocean. It got a bit hot inside the house even though it wasnt very hot outside. They did have fans in every room so that helped! Other than that it was a great trip!

This house was perfect for our annual beach trip. The house was just as described, very clean, with surprise amenities and small comforts like box fans if it got warm at the end of the day (if you know pnw beaches, you know!) Everything worked well, the beds were comfortable, and the view was amazing. This house made our trip so much more comfortable and we will definitely be back again! (Note: We didn't use the hot tub so I cannot attest to that part, but I'll definitely be trying it out next time!)

Best vacation house on the beach!! we will be back

There were numerous issues with cleanliness and the condition of the home when we arrived (dryer still running, downstairs floors wet, had to kill a dozen flies, no screens on doors to help cool down the home, missing a large window shade in the living room, the pillow cases & comforter were stained in the upstairs bedroom, basic cooking utensils were falling apart, flickering bathroom light upstairs, garbage & recycling containers were full, the lower level shower did not drain, not to mention very loud neighbors up until 4am for 2 of our 3 nights). NEVER had this bad of an experience with a Vrbo property before. VERY disappointed.

We had a 10 night stay. Beautiful home. Comfortable furnishings. Plenty of seating. Well stocked kitchen. 2 Roku TV's. A Wii wth games in the room with twin beds. They also have supplies to make a fun day at the beach with chairs, 2 ice chests, and sand toys. Beautiful views. We didn’t use the hot tub. My family had a wonderful stay. Definitely would return.

The house was well equipped and appointed. The downstairs bedrooms were chilly but they provided an electric heater which solved any issues. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and all the needed appliances. The bathrooms were clean and well equipped with towels and soap. We did not use the laundry. WiFi worked fine. Parking was a little tight for two cars. While there is a 2 car garage they ask that it not be used.

My daughter and a friend and I wanted to do an intensive writing long weekend somewhere quiet, and this house was perfect! Near the amenities (such as they are, in Seabrook). Not far from the beach but access was hard to find, and probably half a mile from the house. Two minute drive. Nice place to write for a few days.

Our stay was wonderful. The only glitch was the first night when the smoke detector kept beeping. Someone came out late that night and fixed the problem. Thanks for the help. the rest of the stay was amazing, and we have many happy memories. I recommend this place for anyone looking to relax and make memories.

This was our second stay at the Salty Mermaid. It’s a great house for our group. Spacious and bright. Has a well stocked kitchen with all the basics. The main room is spacious and bright has a nice view of ocean. Plenty of space to hang out. Big dining table so all can eat together or play games. Will definitely book again.
