Meet Green Hummingbird, your family retreat in northern Columbus. Five bedrooms and nine beds down one hallway, an expansive living room, and a game room out back that stays busy until somebody finally calls it. Built for a Ft. Benning graduation, a reunion, or a relocation stretch that needs a house instead of a hotel. The kids get a fenced yard to run in; the adults get the water after dark. The base is 15 mins out, groceries walkable, pets welcome.

Some houses fit a group. This one absorbs one. Five bedrooms and nine beds spread down a single hallway, living room & Sun room mean the movie crowd and the talkers don't have to negotiate, and the sunroom out back stays lit and loud long after the kids go down.
It was built for the trips people take to Columbus for real reasons - a graduation at Fort Benning, a reunion that finally happened, a relocation stretch where a hotel would break you.

THE LAYOUT
Everything is on one level, with just a step or two at the front door.
The entry opens into the main living room; from there the kitchen, dining table, and second living area run together in one open stretch, so someone can be cooking while someone else is losing at Chinese checkers eight feet away. The five bedrooms sit off the hall, and the sunroom game room hangs off the back of the house with windows on three sides looking straight into the yard.

LIVING ROOMS
The living room is anchored by a deep green corduroy sectional and a wall-mounted TV, with Clue, Codenames, and Scrabble live on the shelf running along the wall and a ceiling fan overhead. This living room does the same job in a different key - its own sectional, an orange accent chair, a TV and a sliding door out to the back. Two rooms, two things happening, nobody compromising.

KITCHEN
Sage cabinets, granite counters, stainless fridge and dishwasher. The counter is set up for people who actually cook: electric kettle, toaster, blender, griddle, knife block, cutting boards. Open the uppers and there are wine glasses on one side and green stoneware on the other - enough plates and bowls for a full house, not a starter set.
Coffee and tea are stocked. A high chair and children's dinnerware are here if the group includes someone very short.

DINING AREA
A long light-wood table seats eight, with the game shelf right behind it and the living room on the other side. It's the table where the meal ends and the board game starts without anyone getting up.

BEDROOMS
Bedroom 1 - the king suite. A black canopy frame against a deep green wall, matching lamps, a boucle chair in the corner by the window, mirrored closet doors, and a private en-suite bathroom. It has its own TV, which matters more than people admit.

Bedroom 2 - a queen bed with a black upholstered headboard against a warm terracotta wall, rattan nightstands and a lamp on each side.

Bedroom 3 - a queen bed with a cane-and-gold headboard set between two windows, sage nightstands, soft light most of the day.

Bedroom 4 - the room that makes sixteen work. Two beds under hummingbird prints, each with a trundle that rolls out in seconds, so it sleeps up to six without a single air mattress. Floating nightstands, lamps on both sides, spare pillows and blankets stacked and ready.

Bedroom 5 - off the kitchen, two queen beds under woven wall hangings, mustard pillows, and orange curtains that make the morning look better than it is. It sits right off the kitchen, which makes it the easy room for whoever lands at midnight.

BATHROOMS

Two full bathrooms, both with tub-showers. The first serves the main hall - vanity, mirror, fresh towels for every guest, and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash stocked. The second is the en-suite off Bedroom 1, tiled and quieter, with a hair dryer and a deep tub for the end of a travel day.

BACKYARD

Fully fenced on all sides, which means the gate is the only thing you have to watch. The hot tub sits on the grass a few steps from the sunroom door with its own step-up. There's a gas grill on the patio - guests mention it by name in reviews - and a full playset with swings, climbing rings, and a saucer swing at the far end. There's grass left over after all of it.

FRONT YARD & PORCH

Brick ranch, mature lawn, covered front porch with columns and a brick floor. The carport and driveway hold the cars, with free street parking as backup.

LAUNDRY

Full-size washer and dryer in their own room, plus an iron. Wash mid-stay and go home with clean clothes — the reason long stays work here.

SUNROOM - GAME ROOM

The best room in the house, and the reason people rebook. A regulation pool table under a wall of windows, an arcade cabinet mounted against exposed brick, and a wicker sectional two steps away for whoever's waiting on the next rack. It's bright enough at 10am for coffee and loud enough at 10pm for a tournament, and you can watch the kids on the playset the whole time.

NEIGHBORHOOD

Quiet residential streets in northern Columbus, the kind where the loudest thing at night is the AC cycling.
A grocery store is within walking distance for the milk you forgot. Fort Benning is roughly a fifteen-minute drive, which is why so many of our guests are here for a graduation, a family visit, a PCS move, or a relocation stretch that needs a real house instead of a room. The Chattahoochee RiverWalk, Uptown Columbus, and the whitewater course on the river are all a short drive from the door, and the airport is close enough that early flights aren't a crisis.

AND THEN
Here's how the stay usually goes. Everybody arrives at different hours, and it doesn't matter, because there are five bedrooms and nobody has to wait up. Somebody cooks. Somebody else discovers the arcade cabinet. The kids find the swings before they find their suitcases. And at some point after dark, when the house has finally gone quiet, two or three of you end up in the hot tub with the yard light on, saying the thing you actually came here to say.

If you have a large group and are looking for a spacious, comfortable home in a good location, this is the place. We were in town for our son’s graduation from Cav Scout school on post and stayed here for two nights & three days. We enjoyed our family in this home w the pool table, Pac Man machine, games, and comfy TV area. The hot tub didn’t work (due to recent storms) but host addressed our questions immediately and worked to fix that. Def recommend!

My son graduated from Fort Moore and we wanted a comfy place to stay and we found it here. Plenty of room for everyone and we had all that we needed. Host was great at responding in a timely manner and all was very friendly. Great location close to everything! If we needed too, would stay there again!

We had family gathering to celebrate the Army bootcamp graduation of my grandson. The house slept 16, but the price listed was only for 8 people. They charged 25 per person after the first 8 people. We had multiple dogs with us, so having the fenced in backyard was awesome. The home was very clean and in a great neighborhood and location, Just a few minutes from any store/restaurant. Host was easy to get ahold of and communicate. Overall, it was a great experience for our family.

The property was absolutely perfect for our friends trip. The couch was big and super comfortable. The big table was perfect for games and puzzles. There were plenty of beds and big beds for couples. The kitchen was well stocked and organized. The pool table and game were very fun. The only down side to our stay was that the outlet on the hot tub got accidentally tripped and the hot tub didn’t make it up to temperature during our short stay. The host was very nice and responsive and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We will absolutely consider staying here again!

House is great if your goal is to sleep a ton of people. It is well equipped and a convenient location. The communication with host is good and timely, which unfortunately we had to use quite a bit. When we arrived the refrigerator was making a crazy loud noise and the hot tub (one of the main reasons I booked here) was dirty and foamy. They made some effort to fix but unfortunately it wasn’t usable until 3/4 of the way through our trip. I don’t think think this is a common occurrence but they only offered us $75 back and I gotta say for the price of the whole rental that isn’t really satisfactory.

We stayed here for family pass weekend following my son’s turning green ceremony. He wanted the “at home” feel & this place was perfect in so many ways! The open floor plan allowed us all to hang out, even while cooking. We had a table big enough to play cards; a sofa big enough to hold all 7 of us and it was so comfy! We played pool (a lot), grilled out, played corn hole, and badminton in the private fenced back yard. We watched movies & played playstation and VR. The house was very clean and everyone had their own space to spread out or be together. We had room for 3 cars—even covered parking! Piggly Wiggly was within walking distance (0.1 mile); Walmart was less than 2 minute drive; and Fort Moore was 15 minute drive at most. The neighborhood was quiet, comfortable, and felt very safe. This was literally the perfect weekend for our family & this house was what made it feel like home! The bedding was comfortable and so much thought has gone into the colors & decor to make this house feel like home! The host was spot on with communication but not overbearing! We will definitely book this home again!

We stayed here to go to our son’s turning blue and graduation ceremonies. It was enough space for our large family. We all loved the pool table, game arcade, and hot tub! My hb accidentally locked us out and the host was quick to get the house unlocked and was so understanding. I’d highly recommend!

Very nice home, modern and clean! The host was great to work with and easily communicated all aspects of our trip. We went to my sons Army Boot Camp graduation, and we had my parents, my family, my sister and my sons girlfriend and her mom. The 5 rooms were comfortable and everyone had a bed to sleep in! The pool table in the 4 seasons room was a huge hit and we enjoyed the clean hot tub as well! I highly recommend this host and this home. It was so relaxing to NOT have to stay in a hotel sitting on the floor with all the family in town! My son was relaxed and comfortable while on his short weekend leave from boot camp! Thanks for a great home away from home!
