Our group enjoyed being able to stay together. The piano and pool table provided extra game time. The location of the bathroom between the downstairs bedrooms was inconvenient.
Ready to stay again, Wish the pool was open but other than that it was like home. Extremely relaxing
lots of room for the family to move around. nice to have a pool and pool table for the kids. everything we needed was there.
Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. Close to Ark. The pool was a huge success!
Fantastic house! The property is lovely, clean and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped. The pool and deck area worked out great. Plenty of seating, and hangout areas. Fishing was perfect for the kids. The fish are tiny but eager to chomp on those hooks. The house has lots of little knickknacks, games and books. All just great little touches to make the space homey and comfortable. We had a great vacation!!
In the year of our 50th wedding anniversary we spent 5 days with our family of 23 people at the Williamstown property. We enjoyed the Creation Museum and the Ark and then we enjoyed just being with each other. The spacious house was perfect for us. The kids enjoyed the pool and we all spent some very enjoyable time together in a lovely setting. Blessings!
The house was nice for a family gathering but the fishing pond was covered in algae and unusable. (We caught it from the youth on not being able to fish). Other than that, the house worked out perfectly.
We took a school group to stay here for screw days. They absolutely loved all the things they could do there! The listing did say the pool would be open the dates we were there, but it was not open. This was pretty disappointing. Otherwise the stay was perfect!!
We were looking for a place for our church group and when we found this house we knew it would be perfect for us. The house was very clean and accommodated us perfectly. Was very well maintained. If you are going to the Ark this house is highly recommended.
We held our family reunion at this property. Overall our experience was great. Check in was easy. The cleaning ladies weren't done when we got there so we piddled around for 30 minutes while they finished up. We did end up with an extra fee due to bonus children, but it was told it could be expected depending on their ages and if extra bedding was required (it wasn't, but the fee applied.) Make sure you're clear on that if you are close to/exceeding the number of people the house sleeps. The house has plenty of room and beds, very comfortable and homey place. The floor plan is a bit like a maze. There are things to discover at every turn, room to run, perfect for hide and seek. Note, the two downstairs bedrooms are connected and you walk through one to get to the other. It was hard to tell that from pictures and the property description. There is also a very soft spot in the floor under a rug that sort of sinks when you walk into the pool room. The owners may need to look into that for safety reasons. The house had everything you could think of, dishes, cookware, toys, games, books, puzzles. No one was bored and it's location near the Ark was great. The road up to the house is a little intimidating, especially in the dark. It's narrow and winding. But it spits you out on top with an incredible view. The last morning we woke up to a full double rainbow, and it was amazing! Everyone said they'd love to return in summer and use the pool and the fire pit. We had a great time.
Overall it was a beautiful weekend. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.
Nice big place with lots of yard. Also friendly neighbors…Not nosey just Friendly! John
All amenities were accurate except the fishing pond which should probably be deleted. Tall weeds and pond scum. Kids were not interested. The pool area, the front porch and pool table were enjoyable. The quiet country road was great for our remote control cars and chalk pictures !! We had have a terrible opening and closing the door to the pool area. We did not have any dish towels so did purchase some and no broom handy. All in all we did have a great time visiting The Ark .and staying in the Big Family Lodge !!
The house was a great size for a large group to stay in comfortably. The toys were a nice added touch that the kids really enjoyed. The host was responsive and kind. I would recommend that they invest in some new beds.. most of the beds were very uncomfortable. The bed that is shown as a king in the bunny room is two twin size beds pushed together, so the middle of the bed is very uncomfortable to sleep on. The bed in the zebra room is also not a queen. However, it was still a fun trip had by all and we appreciate having the opportunity to stay there. We would love to hear more about the history of the house and how it came to be!
We chose this location for our family vacation and it was so relaxing! Kids loved the pool and toys but were a little disappointed with the pond as it was somewhat overgrown. Would definitely recommend.
Nice older house with lots of room.
We went to see the arc and museum and my parents birth place in Lexington and the house was perfect.
Communication with the host was great! Answered any questions I had and usually within a few hours. The property was beautiful and beds were comfortable. We had a group of 11 and there was plenty of room. Would stay there again!
