Home is nestled in a wooded setting on a hillside sloping down in back for tree-house like views of wooded back yard and a walk-out lower level (one lower bedroom w/sliding glass door to private deck). First floor private bedroom with queen bed and en-suite full bath. Separate half bath on first floor. Upstairs master bedroom with queen bed shares full bath with loft.

Stayed Oct 7, 2022The house is huge and can realistically sleep a dozen people. It was well supplied in terms of linen and kitchen amenities. Beach is a 6-7 minute walk and is lovely. We had a minor plumbing issue but the owner sent someone to fix it quickly. This was a girlfriends' weekend getaway and we had a great time.

Stayed Oct 10, 2025Close to the water, park, & zoo. 7 family members stayed, had plenty of room, tvs in all bedrooms kept everyone happy and when wanting to watch. Large house gives everyone space. Has lots of little extras as well.

Stayed Sep 16, 2025Such a beautiful home! We loved our time there! It was a family/kid friendly home in a quiet neighborhood. Spacious and plenty of beds for everyone. I was amazed by the proximity to parks, the lake, zoo, shopping and train station this house was. We were easily able to jump on the train and be in Chicago in a little over an hour!

Stayed Sep 1, 2025This is an excellent location in relation to the beach! Easy walk. There is a TON of space in this house! The kitchen is so well-stocked! Ample parking, great hot water, and wonderful water pressure. As we are an older crowd, we did have trouble with the mattresses. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the queen beds with memory foam were too saggy. Probably wouldn't bother kids or younger people though.

Stayed Oct 2, 2024The neighborhood deer paused their grazing to greet us. Adequate parking in drive and down the block. We grilled dinner and planned our tours of Michigan City, Botanical Garden, Winery, Brewery and Dunes. Puzzles and games, chatting and even sleeping.

Stayed Aug 27, 2024This property accommodated 6 adults and 5 children perfectly! We had everything we needed and more. It is very kid friendly. We saw several deer in the neighborhood which was really neat! It's a short walk to so many places such as the beach, the zoo, a park, a splash pad, restaurants, etc. We loved Al's Grocery store, too. We were barely home before discussing booking again for next year.
