Large deck, incredible views of BBNP, and 40 private acres. The deck has an outdoor kitchen, couch, and a propane fire table.

Modern detached bathhouse with indoor and outdoor showers. Occupancy is limitedto 4 adults. No pets.

The Space:
What you get:
• 27' Renovated 2001 Airstream Safari
• 22’ Renovated 1976 Airstream Argosy
• 40 private acres
• 1800 square feet of roof cover (including covered parking area)
• 1000 square feet of outdoor living space including kitchen, propane firetable, lounging couch and dining table
• 1/2 mile nature trail
• Custom designed and built bathhouse with indoor and outdoor showers that take full advantage of the views and natural light
• Large scenic overlook (Gazer Point) with excellent access, offering outstanding 360 degree views of the National Park, Mesa De Anguilla, the desert valley, Lajitas Mesa, and beyond.
• JuiceBox 40 EV Charger for recharging electric vehicles

The Airstream Safari: The renovated Airstream is equipped with a kitchen (microwave, small cooktop and sink), two twinXL beds, a small dining table and a comfortable couch. A smart TV is provided to stream content using your own Netflix/Hulu account (but we recommend spending your time outdoors!). The Airstream has 2 air conditioners, 2 sources of heat, and offers Wifi (via Fiber Optic). Clean, modern and functional, this is the perfect place to lay your head after a day in the park, or riding the nearby bike trails.

The Airstream Argosy: This 22’ renovated Argosy has an RV size double bed, and 1 twin bed. It has a coffee station with a sink, air conditioning, and heat. There is no toilet inside the camper (you will have access to the bathhouse). Please note that these 2 campers are never rented separately to other parties.

The Deck: Over 1,000 square feet (GIANT) of covered and decked (composite decking) outdoor living space all to yourself. If you’re looking to relax in style, you’re at the right place. Big Bend StarGazer deck offers a large and stylish outdoor kitchen (cooktop/sink/propane grill/dining table/refrigerator) to enjoy meals at home, a couch for lounging, and a propane firetable for those cool nights.

Lighting: Dark sky friendly lights in the outdoor kitchen and living areas, red string lights for stargazing, and a BBQ light for grilling after the sun goes down. Our deck railing has very dim LED's mounted underneath to gently illuminate your surroundings.

The Bathhouse: Custom designed and built by the owners, this bathhouse is spacious and modern with hot indoor and hot outdoor showers. The vibrant blue tile vanity wall is reminiscent of the sea that this once was. The interior is full of light and offers carefully placed windows to enjoy the surrounding views. The outdoor shower is large, private, and frames the surrounding mountains for viewing while showering. Hot water, private entry through the bath house, and incredible views make this an experience you won't forget.

Note: While we are on septic, both of our showers are graywater that is used to feed trees and sometimes the birds will drink this water. For that reason we ask that you please use the bath products that we supply, so we keep the birds and trees happy and well!

Gazer Point: Enjoy your own jaw dropping private scenic overlook with spectacular 360 views of Big Bend National Park and beyond. Outstanding stargazing opportunities from this overlook; one of the best views in the area - all to yourself! You can hike or drive to the turnaround spot. The overlook is leveled and has large boulders placed for seating; or bring your own chair and experience the view from anywhere.

Gazer Trail: Lovely 1/2 mile meandering trail around the property; great for searching for flora and fauna. Fun morning coffee walk, evening margarita walk or just a ‘stretch out your legs’ walk. Gorgeous views and interesting terrain. Please stick to the trail as much as possible and only take pictures.

Location: Excellent location and easy access; driveway is located off of paved scenic road FM170, located close to the hustle and bustle but quiet and private.
• 2 minutes from the Lajitas Airport mountain bike trails
• 6 minutes to BBRSP mountain bike trail head
• 12 minutes to the Big Bend National Park entrance.
• 11 minutes to Study Butte gas station
• 3 minutes to Long Draw pizza
• 8 minutes to Lajitas General Store
• 5 minutes to Terlingua Ghost town/Starlight Theatre

Special request of our guests: Please visit and enjoy/relax while leaving no trace. Please be conscientious while visiting the fragile desert ecosystem - stay on the trail and limit your water consumption in the shower and at the sink. StarGazer's water supply is rainwater collection and water is very sparse in the desert. We request keeping showers to 3 minutes. Please do not remove fossils or rocks from the property - instead take a picture and leave it for the next person to discover. Thank you for respecting Big Bend and the surrounding desert, treading lightly, and practicing sustainable living during your visit.

Occupancy limited to 4 adults. No pets.

Guest Access:
Guests will be provided with a code that opens a keylock box with keys to both Airstreams. The same code also unlocks the keyless lock on the bathhouse.

Interaction with Guests:
We manage several properties and live a few miles away. We are available by phone, text, email, or message. We are typically only on site for cleaning or maintenance issues.

This is probably one of the best rentals I've ever stayed at. The property is amazing and huge. The details are meticulously cared for, and everything you need is thought of. The hosts were responsive and helpful, although the provided guide covered just about everything. We were incredibly pleased and our family had a great time hanging out in our outdoors living room.

We were more than happy with the StarGazer property. It was better than we expected. The deck and the view were outstanding. The shower room was the best. I certainly was toasty which was nice since it got quite chilly while we were there.

There isn’t anything to fault on this place, it’s perfect. Ticks every box you could want for a ‘glamping’ experience. Modern main deck for living, we just used airstreams for sleeping. Great separate bath/shower. Views were amazing and night sky was breathtaking. No near neighbors, you really feel like you are on your own in the wilderness. Beds are larger than I expected as were the airstreams. If you want to live ‘simply’ but have your facilities this is the place to be. Thank you for having us!

Overall the stargazers were amazing. There were labels everywhere to help, and the check in info about the area and directions to the property were much appreciated. The beds were super comfy and the outdoor shower was lovely. Plenty of water provided.Only 2 major things that were unclear in the listing and a few nitpicks. The listing didn't state anything about the stargazing lookout point on top of the hill, which was a pleasant suprise. The not so pleasant suprise was that the separate bathhouse has heating but no AC, which wasnt clearly stated in the listing. Stayed july 4th weekend, not pleasant unfortunately. Only other things were perhaps a larger pan to cook for larger parties considering the gazers can sleep 5, and the trail in the back needs some upkeep around the creek. An apparent flood seems to have obscured the intended path for a section of the trail. Not a big problem as the land is easily traverse-able. Perhaps some glow in the dark stones sprinkled on the path could make it hike-able at night even. Wonderfull stay overall, would highly recommend.

This place was perfect for our family of four (kids ages 12 and 14). It was well appointed, we spent lots of time together in the open air deck living space, and our daughters loved having their own camper. The property is simply beautiful and the walking trail was such a lovely feature. Would definitely recommend for families!!

We had an amazing time at the Stargazer near Terlingua. A fabulously secluded location with an amazing view. Waking up to the sunrise over the Chisos was fantastic. Easy drive to Terlingua and Lajitas. The campers were comfortable. The open kitchen was easy to use. We would definitely stay here again.

It is a great setup at a great location and my second time to stay there was just a good as the first. It’s super clean, quiet, and located between Terlingua and Lajitas, so it’s not too far from either park. Highly recommend this one!

We Loved our stay at the Big Bend StarGazer Plus!!! for 4. We travel with another couple, so the extra Airstream was just what we needed. The views are incredibly breathtaking!! Gazer point is the perfect place to watch the beautiful, dark, night sky. We saw lots of shooting stars. The property was perfect. The Airstreams were clean and totally comfortable. The composite deck was very well built. Absolutely loved the outdoor shower!! We enjoyed Big Bend National Park and were able to come back and relax at the Stargazer. Absolutely the best place to stay in Terlingua!

We had an amazing time at this property during our guys' trip! The location was perfect for relaxing and exploring, with stunning views of the landscape that transformed beautifully at sunrise and sunset. We especially loved watching the stars at night – it was breathtaking! The stone paths and rugged outdoor seating areas gave the place a unique charm, and the outdoor kitchen was a great spot for us to cook and hang out together. The renovated Airstreams were not only stylish but incredibly comfortable, offering the perfect blend of rustic and modern. Overall, this property was everything we hoped for and more. Highly recommended!
