Becwar House . . . at the Mississippi River

Cute, charming little house with plenty of room for everyone. Clean and well stocked.

Awesome home, quiet neighborhood. Able to walk or take a short drive to restaurants, bars, beautiful state park. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We have a family get together every Labor Day in PDC. As our family grew we needed a larger place and The Becwar House at the Mississippi River has exceeded our needs and expectations. The house is beautiful and everyone feels welcomed and at home. Thank you again John for being a great host. See you next year!

It was a sister/SIL trip! We had a wonderful time! The Becwar house is a beautiful home with an “antiquish” feel. The house was clean and very well equipped with everything we’d need for our stay. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. We were walking distance to bars and wine and restaurants. John was quick to communicate from the start. We really appreciated him for everything. Thank you John! We’ll stay again if we’re in the area.

Our family of eight had a great time in Prairie du Chien! The house and yard were clean, the kitchen was well stocked, and the layout of the house and patio was perfect for small and large gatherings.

A sweet, roomy house with the feel of aged and antiqued history, and yet modern touches and decor which was a delight for us on our short stay. This is our second stay at Becwar House and we would love to stay again if we come back to the Prairie du Chien area. John was very prompt in his communication. The house was immaculate..

What a welcoming, comfortable, well appointed stay. Our family argued which part we liked best - the 4 season porch, the architectural elements, the location. It was the perfect stay for our extended family as we finished RAGBRAI.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Beckwar House. The house was clean, well-stocked and absolutely cozy and inviting for our family trip. It was obvious that much love went into the remodel of the former family home. We would absolutely stay again!

A wonderful, well appointed home. We had everything we needed as we gathered for a family wedding. Six adults and three children fit seamlessly into this charming space. We have never stayed in a vrbo that provided supplies with such attention to detail. We would definitely stay here again.

Four bedrooms and 5 beds, plus a fold out sofa gives plenty of privacy and space for girls weekend! Bathrooms upstairs and down is a must when we rent, so that was great. One of the cleanest and most tastefully decorated places I've rented.

We just loved this home! It has such a nice blend of original hardwood floors, amazing wide trim and floor board as well as an updated kitchen with full amenities. John, the owner and host, provided everything we needed and beyond. Plenty of pots and pans, baking dishes, spices, utensils, coffee maker as well as coffee, filters. You really don't need to bring anything other than your clothes, and personal items. The home was very clean, there was a cozy front porch perfect for morning coffee, reading, or even doing some remote work. Internet was fast. We had no problems with multiple devices. Beds were very comfortable. We were in a nice part of town, and had no problems walking in the evening. There was a small inlet that was about 2 or 3 blocks away where one could rent bikes, or kayaking. John replied quickly when we had a few questions. We highly recommend this home, and hope to be able to stay again in the future. Side note, some nice places to go: Jones Black Angus, The Barn, Pikes Peak, Lansing, up the River Road for possible eagle sightings.

Everything was great! This is a fantastic place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone.

Very clean and nice accomodations. Quiet neighborhood. Nice to find 4 bedrooms at a fair price with a dining room table big enough to accomodate all of us. Nicely stocked kitchen. Only suggestion might be to have an extra hand rail section at the top of the stairwell to aid us seniors.

We came for the Prairie Dog Bluesfest and found so much more. A beautiful town with many activities and lovely people.

The house was just right for our 4-sister getaway. It was a delightful step back in time as it reminded us of an old country farmhouse from our youth, yet had been decorated and updated to be very comfortable and enjoyable for our 3-day stay. Good attention to everything needed for guests and yet gave us plenty of room for our own supplies/luggage. We enjoyed the neighborhood for a walk and the closeness to shopping and restaurants and also Pike's Peak State Park. Loved it and will stay here again if we choose this area for our next get together!!!

A perfect spot for my wife and I to meet up with our children for her father’s 90th birthday party. One of most well stocked vacation rentals we have ever stayed in and a super convenient location close to the water and downtown Prairie. Bookmarked for next time!

We recently stayed at the Becwar house while in town for a wedding/family reunion. The house was excellent! Very clean, comfortable and great location. The host was great and very accommodating to a last minute change. We will definitely be returning!
