* Summer special - if you book in the months of June, July, Aug, or Sept, the pontoon boat comes with the stay at NO extra cost. Look down further in the property description for details.

Enjoy this getaway home on Spider Lake with 60 feet of private beach; an absolutely beautiful setting from sunrise to sunset. It`s the perfect place to stay in any season, only 11.5 miles from downtown Traverse City, and well-protected from claustrophobic downtown traffic.

The home is only ashort hop from all the luxuries of Traverse City, including extravagant wineries, breathtaking sights, incredible restaurants, and endless outdoor attractions including Turtle Creek Casino. The neighborhood is isolated from public transportation, but Uber & Lyft and other options are usually available if you need transportation aside from your own vehicles.

There`s year-round availability for rental in any season of the year. Bask in the summer sun on the lake and immerse yourself in the beauty of lakeside nature among the loons, swans, ducks, cranes, and deer. Enjoy the golden Michigan woods in the glow of autumn, enjoying the beautiful northern Michigan color change. Come back to your cozy indoor fireplace for hot cocoa after a day on the ski slopes, ice-fishing, or snowmobile trails enjoying the beauty of Michigan winters.

Just a few meters off your beach is a nice sized island/sandbar easily accessible by kayaks or paddle boat which we include in the rental at no extra cost. Or by pontoon boat, if included in the rental (more on that later). Bring supplies to spend the day swimming, take the kayaks out, have a campfire under the stars, hang a hammock for a nap, or play volleyball out on the sandbar. Fish off the dock or the kayaks/paddle boat, or pontoon boat, on the lake without having to transport equipment anywhere for launch.

Rental Certification #008382

Important to note:

1. Dogs are welcome with no extra security deposit, but we do ask that you crate your dog`s when not home. We normally do not accept cats due to urination issues on carpet, but we can make exceptions, with a security deposit (just for the cat), just message us about it.

2. The rental includes the pontoon boat at no extra cost in June, July, August, and September. The rates you see, DO include the pontoon boat at no extra cost. If weather permits, May and October, there will be options to rent the pontoon, but it would be an additional charge, so the booking rate does NOT include the boat rental. We have a Friday to Friday - 7 day min for the Month of June, July, and August, but only in those months.

3. The kayaks and paddle boats provided free of charge and available if they are not winterized for the year which depends on the weather.

4. Firewood is provided ONLY in the months of June, July, August, Sept, Oct. If firewood is left over, feel free to use it.

5. Minimum age for renting is 25 years of age.

For those with kids, there are a couple of small parks with playgrounds less than two miles away (one even has a beachfront for swimming!). I will send recommendations for this after you book.

The house has multiple decks and patios to enjoy, one with a large outdoor grill, a beautiful courtyard, an indoor fireplace, and 2 outdoor fire pits. Don’t miss the beach-side fire pit near the dock for a cozy night of stargazing beside the lake. The interior is fully furnished with a washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge, and oven, all newer appliances. We provide all kitchen utensils, and the cupboards are stocked with spices and cooking sprays. There`s also central air for those hot summer nights, and a powerful furnace for cold winter nights.

The coffee maker is a Keurig that has a single cup option and a full pot option. We stock ground coffee for our guests but feel free to bring your own and you will need to bring your own K-cups.

Sleep comfortably in one of four queen bedrooms, including a luxurious master bedroom and a fun room with bunk beds -- complete with two and a half bathrooms, and plenty of closet and drawer space. There are also two pull out couches with a queen mattress in the living room.

We have lots of board games for all ages to enjoy. Also, we have city maps of Traverse City and menus from local restaurants so you can make dinner plans from the lake-house.

Summer Activities:

These are endless in Traverse City. Enjoy boating, swimming, hiking, biking, wine tasting, breweries, distilleries, casinos, top notch restaurants, many farm to table, shopping, live music, beaches, paddle boating, kayaking, boat cruises, horse back riding, scenic drives, festivals, food & wine events, jet skiing, golf, mini-golf, beautiful architecture, tours, escape rooms, climbing, fitness, gyms, and much more.

Fall Activities:

We recommend driving around Old Mission Peninsula, Interlochen area, Benzie County, The Leelanau Peninsula, and Elk Lake/Torch Lake areas. Typically, peak color season in these areas is typically mid-October, but seasonal temperatures may impact the exact timing (above average temps will delay peak color; and below average temps will cause colors to peak earlier). Additionally, areas near the lakeshore are typically cooler, therefore colors tend to peak first/earlier in these areas compared to the locations further from the coast. Also, there are many local farms with pumpkin patches, cideries, and plenty of family fun activities. Also, Traverse City is known as wine country! Fall wine tours are very beautiful in Traverse City.

Winter Activities:

Our Lakehouse is in a centralized location to many ski/snowboard resorts: Hickory hills (13.8 miles), Mt Holiday (6.7 miles), Crystal Mountain (34.4 miles), Caberfae (46 miles), Boyne Mountain (59.6 miles).

For snow tubing, Mt. Holiday (6.7miles), Timberlee Hills (19.5 miles)

Also, close to many locations for cross country skiing, fat tire biking, and snow shoeing.

*Other things to note*

- We have a max of 10 occupants, including adults and children, We have a max of 5 cars that are allowed, 2 must be in the garage, the other 3 can park in the driveway. We cannot have anyone park on the road or the neighbors yard. If you have more cars, please contact me so we can make extra accommodations for them. This is family setting lake cottage so we don`t allow parties and have a quiet time after 10pm to meet township and short-term rental guidelines.

- The boat is a pontoon boat, not a speed boat, it is meant for cruising and relaxing in. We do not allow tubing behind the boat either.

- The lake is a typical Michigan lake, the shore is not sandy but has vegetation, it`s beautiful, but we don`t recommend swimming at the shore, but rather at the island which is a very short boat ride, kayak, or paddle boat ride away. The island has plenty of space and a huge sandbar, typically with one or two volleyball nets set up. You can see the island right out the back window of the house, see pictures for examples.

- There is no security deposit, but guests are responsible for all damage on the property and will be charged accordingly if there is damage. By booking this property, you agree to this term.

When you rent the lake house, the whole property is yours. Here is a break down of the 3 floors:

- Floor 1 - Garage Level - There is a garage where you can park 2 cars, and keep your fishing supplies or other outdoor gear you may bring. There is also another fridge there you can use for extra supplies/ice, etc. Attached to the garage is one of the guest bedrooms with a bunk bed with 2 twin mattresses, and 1 queen bed. The garage opens into a mudroom which leads upstairs or outside to the one of the out-door areas that over looks the lake with a seating area.

- Floor 2 - the Main Level - The main floor has a fully stocked kitchen, a living room with a high def smart TV (so you can sign into your apps, such as Netflix, Prime, etc), basic cable, a dining room, a master bedroom with full bath with a bidet/heated seat), and the back porch that leads into the backyard. This floor also has a half bath with a washer and dryer. Also, on this floor, in the living room, we have 2 comfortable pull-out couches that can sleep 2 people each.

- Floor 3 - the Top Floor Level - The top floor also has two bedrooms, a skylight, and a full bathroom with a tub.

Note: It requires stairs to get up to the 2nd floor of the house and to the 3rd floor.

Back yard - The back yard has three levels. The upper level has a gazebo, a patio, outdoor dining table, chairs, and a firepit. The mid level has a seating area that overlooks the lake, perfect for morning coffee, meals or card games. The lower level is on the lake with a dock, a large firepit with outdoor furniture provided, and boating equipment. This is also where the two kayaks, paddleboat, and pontoon boat (if part of the rental), are located. Use of all of these depends on seasonality and weather.

This house is located in a private little neighborhood in the Forest Lakes area. The houses on the street are spread out enough that you`re never disturbed (but it`s not quite a cabin-in-the-woods scenario). You`ll have plenty of privacy and isolation on the scenic lake, and most of your contact with the neighbors will be waves from the passing boats.

You can contact me anytime during your stay via text or call. I`m always here to help you out if there`s anything you need. Looking for a special experience (in house chef, Pilates, etc), or some niche interests nearby Feel free to ask. We`ve done our research and we know the area like the back of our various hands. And if we can`t answer the question for you on the spot, we`ll absolutely find out for you. There`s no question we can`t answer, and we want to make your stay as perfect as possible.
We appreciate you booking with us. I promise you will love this property. Please treat it like it`s your own home. I`m always available for a text or call if you need anything at anytime.

This property is beautiful, right on a peaceful lake. The outside was well maintained and offered multiple areas for a nice fire, the dock for fishing, and plenty of seating in multiple areas. The home was well-furnished, clean, and fully stocked with the necessities. The property manager was helpful and professional, quick to reply to questions.

This is a family-oriented property with a beautiful pontoon available. My family loved all the water sports available to them. Communication with the owner is unbelievably responsive. Best we have ever experienced.

This was a great place for my family and I to celebrate my 50th! The location is perfect, allowing you to access all that Traverse City and even surrounding areas have to offer. We enjoyed the many wineries and even the local Peegeos for pizza! It was very clean, and Brenden was great at communicating.greatfootball

Stayed here in December 2024. Wondeful spot, felt secluded but close to activities in Traverse City. I imagine the lake may get busy at times in the summer, but the location on the peninsula and the privacy fence make this location special. The house was very clean with almost brand new higher end appliances. Our dog appreciated the abundant hiking trails within a short drive. The

Brenden was the quickest responding owner I’ve rented through vrbo. He even put up a Christmas tree and decorations when he heard we were celebrating at his home. Home was very clean and well-equipped with cooking, cleaning and bath items. More than enough room for 2 grandparents, 4 parents and 4 grandchildren. Although cold and snowy, we enjoyed the view and Spider Lake area.

My husband and I and our adult children had a lovely week at Brenden’s beautiful lakefront property. We tooled around the lake in the pontoon boat and enjoyed the sandbars by the island, lounging on floats and playing frisbee and ball with our dogs. Brenden was the perfect host and could not have been more responsive to our needs. We would be happy to rent fr

My family and I had a great time during our 4 night stay. We fished, hung out, took the boat out a couple of times and enjoyed the nearby towns. We never had to contact Brenden once during our trip, everything was great.

We can’t say enough about how amazing this location is for a Mother’s Day celebration with friends and family. This property is well cared for and they have invested in so many things to make the stay perfect. We had some very specific requirements when selecting a place to stay. One of the guests has a service dog. The fenced in back yard was perfect. We all sat around the fire and ate at the table outside without worrying about the dog running away. We also needed a first floor bedroom for my mother who has PD and can no longer navigate stairs easily. That bedroom was perfect, and the connected bathroom and shower was beyond expectations. The toilet seat is HEATED! The kitchen and outside grill made cooking for everyone easy and fun. The eating area was perfect. There’s an island with a few chairs and a large dining room table. The view of the lake, stories, jokes, and laughter are memories we will all take with us and cherish. There are kayaks, a paddle boat, and a pontoon boat. They were used every day to adventure over to the island. While my mom could not navigate the stairs to the beach, she was able to enjoy watching them from inside. The view is amazing. The sunrises were perfect over the lake. We captured many pictures while we were there, including some of the northern lights! Brenden was an amazing host, the best we’ve had so far. Responsive, helpful, and very kind. He made sure we had everything we needed. We are already planning our next trip here.
