THE GREAT OUTDOORS<br>
You are minutes away from some of the East Coast’s most iconic natural landscapes.

• Shenandoah National Park & Skyline Drive: Just a short drive to the Thornton Gap entrance. Enjoy over 500 miles of trails, including the famous Old Rag Mountain for a challenge or Stony Man for a breathtaking sunset view.

• Luray Caverns: A must-do. Explore the largest caverns in the eastern U.S., featuring the Great Stalacpipe Organ and the hauntingly beautiful Dream Lake.

• Shenandoah River: Perfect for a summer afternoon. Book a trip with Shenandoah River Outfitters for canoeing, kayaking, or a lazy day of tubing down the South Fork.

• Luray-Hawksbill Greenway: A scenic, paved 2-mile walking and biking trail that winds through the town along the creek—ideal for a morning stroll.

• Massanutten Resort (30 miles south): The regional hub for winter sports.

Skiing & Snowboarding: 14 trails and a massive vertical drop.

Snow Tubing: A famous 900-foot-long tubing hill (book weeks in advance as it sells out fast).

Ice Skating: An outdoor rink at the Leleune Center.

Indoor WaterPark: A massive 84-degree indoor park featuring slides and a surf wave.

WINERIES, BREWERIES & SPIRITS

The Shenandoah Valley is Virginia’s premier wine country. Enjoy a glass with a mountain view:

• Castle Vineyards: Located on a working cattle farm right in Luray, offering excellent flights and a relaxed, rustic atmosphere.

• Wisteria Farm & Vineyard: A quaint, farm-style winery nearby where you can enjoy a picnic while sheep graze in the distance.

• The Valley Cork: A chic wine bar and bottle shop in Downtown Luray featuring a curated selection of Virginia’s best labels.

• Hawksbill Brewing Co.: For the craft beer lovers, this local favorite uses hops grown right here in Page County. Try the Hooray for Luray IPA!

LOCAL DINING & FLAVOR

Skip the chains and eat like a local:

• Triple Crown BBQ: Frequently ranked among the best BBQ in the state. Don't skip the brisket or their legendary sides.

• Gathering Grounds Patisserie & Cafe: The perfect spot for breakfast or a cozy lunch. Their pastries and coffee are second to none.

• The Mimslyn Inn (Circa '31): For a more upscale Grand Old Dame experience, enjoy fine dining or a cocktail at the Speakeasy bar.

• West Main Market: An incredible gourmet deli. Grab a sandwich here before heading out for a hike in the National Park.

• Il Vesuvio: Authentic Italian and hand-tossed pizzas for a cozy night in.

TOWN ATTRACTIONS

• Cooter’s Luray: A tribute to the Dukes of Hazzard featuring a museum, garage, and live music on weekends.

• The Garden Maze: Located at the Caverns, this one-acre ornamental hedge maze is fun for all ages.

• Historic Downtown: Wander through local boutiques, antique shops, and the restored Page Theater for a movie.

MOUNTAIN ESSENTIALS: WHAT TO PACK

For the Trails

Layers: Mountain weather changes fast. Bring a light rain shell and a fleece, even in summer.

Footwear: Sturdy hiking boots or trail runners. Shenandoah trails can be rocky!

Hydration: Reusable water bottles to stay hydrated while hiking!

Navigation: Cell service can be spotty in the National Park; we recommend downloading offline maps or grabbing a paper map at the entrance gate.

For the River & Outdoors

Water Shoes: The Shenandoah River bottom is rocky—flip-flops will likely float away!

Bug Spray & Sunscreen: Essentials for the Greenway or a day on the water.

Headlamp/Flashlight: It gets dark in the valley! Great for late-night stargazing or evening strolls.

For the House

Groceries: While we have great restaurants in the area, we recommend stopping at the Luray Food Lion or Walmart on your way in to stock up on your favorite drinks and snacks!

Log-ins: We provide high-speed Wi-Fi and a Smart TV, so remember your Netflix or Hulu credentials!

Great property and comfortable stay for our family.

Emailed owner multiple times before arrival and never got information on how to enter the property. Had to sleep in a hotel and change all of our lodging plans on the fly during our vacation, which was stressful. Not something you want to deal with when trying to enjoy time with family.
