A great location, with a secure parking area, but one of the two double bedrooms on the ground floor was unusable due to water in the room and a very bad smell of mould. The curtains were soaked, and clearly the room had not been checked before our arrival. We had to use the top floor single beds (a very hot attic room) and put a mattress on the living room floor. The owner compensated us but not to the level we requested (we asked for 25% of the total amount we paid but the host refunded 25% of what they received after VRBO fees. This equated to 18% of what we paid to VRBO). Note: - there is no washing machine or iron/ironing board, - the top floor bathroom is described as toilet, shower but there's no toilet (we had to sleep in the top floor room, and use the toilet that opens directly onto the kitchen on the floor below). - the top floor shower had to be used very carefully, as it has no lip to the tray and flooded rapidly, causing us to put a bowl in the kitchen below to catch the water. - there are no recliner chairs in the courtyard, but there is a large settee there, and a few casual chairs. - there were no instructions for appliances, but we worked out how to use things ourselves. - we were given one set of keys, and had to ask for an additional set, as our group was two couples. We requested a partial refund via VRBO, but they declined to get involved, referring us instead to the host.

We had 3 of us for a one week stay in Blois. We like history and we don't like large crowds. This place was great for us. We had plenty of room to spread out and the house was beautiful. We would take day trips to nearby sites and wine and were happy to return and relax in a quiet environment. The house was very clean and had everything that we needed.

This lovely townhouse is situated on a quiet side street in the pretty town of Blois with easy access to a wide variety of cafes and restaurants. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. There were many different areas to eat a meal or just relax. The host Pierre is charming, helpful and lives nearby. There is a nice draft through the house which keeps it cool as we were there in August. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend the house to others.

From check-in to departure, the whole experience was fabulous. Pierre kindly welcomed us slightly earlier than we had anticipated which enabled us to park and unload the car before exploring the wonderful town of Blois. The property has so many usable areas from the 1st floor terrace (for a morning coffee/breakfast) situated on the same level as the spacious, well equipped kitchen and dining room. The ground floor housed two, comfortable double bedrooms, toilet and shower room and the most amazing courtyard where we had most of family meals together in addition to relaxing on the sofa and chairs. It was much cooler c. 25C than the 36C ambient temperature. There was also a ‘magical’ cave (cellar) where a candle-lit dinner could be held for max 4 people. The top (2nd) floor housed the 4 single beds in one room, but they were well spaced apart. A spacious shower room also shared the same level. Although very warm, there were three windows that allowed the air to circulate. Blois offered plenty to see but be prepared to climb the many steps/hills, but this offers many fabulous views of the Loire and surrounding areas. Perfect for (mainly flat) bike rides along the purpose build river paths and also kayaking nearby (4km from centre). The property is located approx 2 minute walk from the river and the same to the first restaurants/bars. I will be recommending this place to family and friends (and also you if you’re reading this review). One of the nicest places I’ve stayed in - and I do travel a lot.

A spacious, luxurious apartment perfectly situated in the historic part of Blois. The apartment had everything we needed and also an outdoor area, under cover which we really enjoyed. We were impressed by the decor and the quality. Lock up car park on site was a bonus. We've stayed in lots of holiday apartments and this one was the best!! Communication and access information was very good. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in Blois and would love to spend more time here
