That was a great place to stay
Very easy to rent this property. Enjoyed meeting the hosts and their animals. Easy to get to Chicago 90 mins away & to South Bend 20 mins away. Enjoyed eating in Niles MI 2 nights.
Comfortable rural home about 25 minutes from Notre Dame. Lots of animal life on property with woods and fields full of deer. Felt safe and secure ( never locked the door or held the key ) . Would recommend for family or two couples .
Our stay was very pleasant and the property was beautiful. You got that sense of a country style home and very spacious. A few recommendations though the linens on the beds needed to be laundered didn't appear to be fresh. The towels provided for bathing need to be replaced with new towels. The towels had a very bad odor to them that was very unpleasant and wouldn't wash out. Also had a bit of a problem with knats flying around a lot indoors but assume it was because of the area.
We enjoyed our stay at this house! The house was everything we expected and more! The outside was beautiful and picturesque, the interior was very clean and charming! The house was well stocked with supplies and exceeded our expectations! The swim pond and the tiki bar kept the kids entertained for hours. The friendly farm animals were an added bonus! The homeowners went above and beyond to insure we enjoyed our stay. We were greeted with a smile by the owners daughter who was very welcoming and made us feel like we were at home. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a nice, quiet, relaxing getaway! I cannot wait to book another stay! Thank you so much!
A few of us were looking for a nice place to relax for a few days and this was absolutely perfect! We're already discussing our next trip, hopefully the weather will be much better so we can enjoy the pool.
My family and I stayed at this property and we were extremely pleased at how peaceful and relaxing it was to stay there. Would absolutely stay there again. Highly recommend.
We were there for the ND football opener and we were very comfortable here. The farm animals were a bonus
The house is beautiful! The kids loved the pond and the animals. They especially loved giving the horses treats and hanging out with Puss. I loved the outdoor covered tiki bar. The kids swam all day and I watched tv outside and made hot dogs on the grill. It was a perfect get a way.
Overall we had a good time while we stayed in this property. The pool is great. Hot tub in the screened porch is nice although the screen was broken in a corner and we did get some bugs. Cons: 1) Communication with owners was poor. Ann charged us a pet fee even though when we booked in March, the property was pet-friendly and there was no mention of a pet fee. I even emailed prior to booking to verify we could bring a cat (she agreed) yet upon leaving she charged a $50 fee. And upon arrival, Ann asked us to leave our cat in a back porch for the entire time we would be there. She said she was uncomfortable about letting a cat roam freely in her house. That’s not what I signed up for. Had I known this is how she felt I wouldn’t have booked this place. 2) If you feel strongly for your privacy, this might not be the place for you. The owners come in once or twice a day to feed the animals. This is not mentioned in the listing, but Ann will tell you when you first come in so you are warned. Also, there are some WiFi cameras pointed at the pool area. I have no reason to believe they were on, but some folks feel strongly about this yet there is no mention of cameras in the listing. 3) The place is beautiful and well kept. But some areas where the animals are were too dirty for me to feel comfortable bringing my little ones. I love horses but I dared not go into the barn again after the initial tour with Ann. And I would’ve loved to sit on the swing with my kids out on the front porch, but there was a female peacock that hung out on there so the floor was covered in bird poop. 4) Not really 3-Bedroom: We were looking for a 3-BR house as we have two kids that sleep in separate rooms. One of the “bedrooms” is just the open area at the top of the stairs. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my young child in there as there was a possibility he could stumble out of his bed in the middle of the night, it would be a long way down. 5) There is no mention of this anywhere but there is NO cellphone reception at all. Ann graciously offers her house phone if you want to place any calls, but that doesn’t help with incoming calls you’ll miss. It might not sound important, as if because you’re on vacation you’re not supposed to be picking up calls-but if you’re expecting a call you will miss it. Texts will not come through either. But there’s WiFi on the property so Internet texts such as iMessages will work. So just take note of these few cons & you’ll enjoy your stay!
