Nice cabin in Campton NH close to skiing at Waterville Valley. Plenty of room for a fun family getaway. Host was very responsive and considerate.
I stayed here with my wedding party as a “getting ready” spot close to the venue. We absolutely loved the vibes of the house and it was easy to navigate, had plenty of space, and offered a lot of ways for us to enjoy the cold evenings in NH. Would recommend to anyone!
This trip was a fantastic getaway for our 20th wedding anniversary. 10 Porcupine Lane did not disappoint. The cabin is beautifully done and decorated, with all the amenities you can think of. The cabin has plenty of space for entertaining and relaxing. Erik is a wonderful host. For us, he was very accessible and easy to get a hold of, at least when we had cell service. Thank goodness for wi-fi in the cabin. The cabin is a short 20 minute drive to the famous Kancamagus highway in the White Mountains where there is plenty to see and do. The mountains this time of year are breathtaking and the fall foliage is amazing to take in. Our family of 5 has been on a few trips over the last two and a half years. We've done a summer vacation in Plymouth Mass., my wife's birthday in the Finger Lakes on lake Owasco, driven to Disney for Christmas, and spent a few days in August in Bethany Beach DE. I can not get enough of New England. Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusettes are wonderful to visit especially this time of year. Thanks to Erik for opening up your home. We had such a good time visiting.
Beautiful setting in a convenient location.
Very beautiful location and the owner of the property was very helpful.
We had a great experience renting this property, everything was as advertised, and then some! A few minor glitches were promptly handled by a very accessible and accommodating owner. Thanks!
We stayed at the Bears Lair for Christmas with family. The house was beautiful and cozy. It was clean and had everything we needed. The house had nice personal touches that made you feel welcome and at home. The beds were very comfortable and there were ample blankets and throws which I loved! We had some difficulty getting the keys out of the lock box when we arrived, but Erik responded immediately and we were in the house within minutes. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Bear’s Lair is a wonderfully accommodating property. It’s comfy and cozy and yet spacious as well. It’s thoughtfully designed and has a lovely feel to it. Each of the three floors has a comfortable sitting area with a TV. All the couches and easy chairs have plush throws to snuggle into. I loved the beautiful fireplace and the large dining room table and the big windows. The host was terrific: Eric was available by phone and quickly returned several calls. He helped me out with a few logistics like my inability to master the TV remotes (I’m not adept with remotes!). We were in NH for a family wedding. We had different folks staying with us before and after the wedding and hosted several family dinners. The little grocery in Campton had a great meat selection and we made good use of the grille. We look forward to coming back when we have a more open agenda and time to take advantage of the area and The Waterville Estates amenities. It’s a great place!
We had a wonderful stay at The Bear's Lair. The pictures don't do it justice, the space is really expansive and bright, yet cozy. We enjoyed sitting by the fire and watching movies on a rainy day and venturing out into nearby Waterville Valley and Plymouth when the weather cleared. The house has very comfortable furniture and little nooks for relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked, and the owner is very responsive. All around great place! Thank you!
The property was a gorgeous log home that our entire family loved. We explored various local attractions and had a great time. The hosts were good at communicating.
Don't let the look of this wood cabin outside fool you, when we arrived we thought it looked pretty small but once inside were amazed at how much space there was, 3 floors with multiple sitting areas, TVs and lounging options. Incredibly clean. Ample towels and bed linens. Everything you need for cooking, baking, boiling, grilling is all in the kitchen. We grilled several nights, tank was full when we arrived and did not have to fill (property does not guarantee will be filled but Hardware store is easy to get to). Played fetch with our dog in the backyard (a little awkward because it slopes down but she didn't care!). The community center is rustic but has a lot of pool and hot tub options, we also swam in the pond out back. There was a little snafu with the passes for the center (the listing said 4 passes provided and we only ended up receiving 2) and we couldn't find the passes, but Erik returned my call immediately and spoke with the center and fixed the problem. They have some pretty strict rules over there, none of which are part of this property, and won't let you in if you forget your green card! Any additional people in your family are charged a day pass, something to consider. This property is a great location within short driving distances to many attractions and towns--we visited Lost River Gorge, Franconia State Park, Saco River Tubing, world's longest candy counter at Chutters in Littleton NH, and went Geocaching in Campton. A must is the Little Red School House Restaurant--we are from the north shore of Boston and this was the best seafood we have had in a long time! And the Mad River Coffeehouse, GREAT coffee and muffins. My kids loved the Froyo shop a quick drive down the road, along with the Vintage Arcade. Overall a great quiet lovely location and home. Definitely recommend!
Beautiful house! Very clean and had everything we needed. Quiet nice neighborhood. Beautiful 40 minute ride to weirs beach
Beautiful log cabin, very clean, close to everything! Would definitely stay again!
