Come enjoy a complete change of scene at this secluded 2 story mountain home. 2 BR, 2 BA, with 1300 square feet of comfort, situated on 9 wooded acres. Located at an altitude of 1800 feet, you will find an impressive 40 mile view of a picturesque valley and surrounding hills. The beautifully appointed home boasts a virtual gallery of paintings in every room by the accomplished artist/owner.

MBR on second level has floor to ceiling glass windows and showcases a stunning view of countryside from the queen bed and soaking tub. Sitting area faces full bookshelves for your reading pleasure and built-in TV.

2nd BR has one twin bed, one sofa bed and hideaway twin bed, and also a cleaned bed. Another wall of glass features a view of the woods and private back deck. There is an attached laundry room and microwave. Downstairs bath has oversized tile shower. There is a separate entrance from the front porch.

The living room/dining room again features a wall of windows facing a plush green, heavily treed yard. If dining al fresco seems tempting, a wrap around porch holds a gas grill and outdoor table with the same gorgeous vista.

A rock patio below has a an inviting fire-pit and massive logs for sitting while enjoying each other’s company. A detached raised canopied deck, flanked by garden beds, features a swing and chairs for enjoying the long view of the valley and the always spectacular sunsets. The side yard has an additional seating area with a comfy hammock swinging from the trees for the ultimate relaxation as you listen to the wind moving up the mountainsides.

Walk in the woods, play a game of croquet, jog the winding country lane, enjoy the serenity and pure mountain air. Listen to the beautiful redbirds who are quite vocal, or be lulled by the sounds of hummingbirds whirring by. You’ll see hawks hovering over and maybe the occasional deer or fox or wild turkeys who frequent the property. Listen to the howls of coyotes in the distance. Smell the juniper trees and mountain laurels, the jasmine ivy. It’s such an antidote from city living and will leave you restored and at peace.

Mountain Laurel Haven is equipped with WiFi and each room is individually heated or cooled by wall units or oil filled heaters.

If you feel like exploring nearby environs, there is Boerne, a small German founded community, 25 scenic minutes away with its drive of rolling hills amid horse farms, it’s enchanting river walk, quaint shops and restaurants such as Lil Gretyl and Dodging Ducks.

Bandera is 18 miles away with its saloons and cowboy dancehalls. Medina Lake is 30 minutes away and beckons boat enthusiasts. The town of Medina is charming with its apple orchards and scenic approach. Conversely the drive to Kerrville from Bandera is even more scenic with its wild game ranches and beautiful river parks as well as unique shops and galleries on Water Street. You’ll regret not making the short drive to Hunt and Ingram nearby.  Fredricksburg is only 30 minutes further and while returning on Interstate 10, drop by Comfort with its famous antiques - a nice diversion on the way back ‘home’.

If San Antonio is your pleasure, head towards Helotes, also 25 minutes away, with its weekend arts and crafts fairs, famous Floore’s Country Store and Cooter Brown’s dancehalls. And from Helotes you are 10 minutes from La Cantera Mall, The Rim, and Six Flags. You are 20 minutes from Seaworld. Also from Helotes, you are 34 minutes from The Alamo and The Riverwalk.

Nature attractions include:

Ranger Crossing is 20 miles away, near Bandera, for kayaking, tubing and swimming. Government Canyon State Natural Area is 9 miles heading toward Helotes; it features 40 miles of hill  country trails and the only known dinosaur tracks in Bexar County. Scott was a great host! Home is just as pictured is in a beautiful quiet location. We wanted a quick and quiet getaway and it was exactly what my daughter and I needed. The views are beautiful. Although, My most favorite part of the home was definitely the art!!!

Property had beautiful sunrises & views of hill country-just as described. We were in this area to be near 30+ family members gathering for 3 days during the Christmas Holidays. Even with below freezing weather, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the house. Thank you Scott for being so gracious during some really difficult weather conditions.

The view from the upstairs bedroom, deck, fire pit and swing were absolutely amazing! The lawn was perfectly manicured and beautiful. The home was well furnished and had everything we needed! Property was clean! The host was very helpful and made certain we had what we needed. Scott was very quick to respond to all communications! We really enjoyed our time on the covered porch. We grilled and had dinner out there a few nights, which was very relaxing! The property is a few miles up a quiet mountain road. It is very peaceful and private for as close as the neighbors are. The hot tub was a bit of a disappointment. It is in a gorgeous location and setup beautifully. However, it was an inflatable hot tub. There were a couple cool days during our stay and the water was lukewarm at best. It does not have jets or seats, so was more of a lukewarm bathtub. The only other things that were not superb were the dryer took multiple cycles to dry clothes and the upstairs bed was not very comfortable. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Very nice property with amazing views! Could have sat out on the patio all day and evening. Saw many shooting stars and wildlife. Only suggestion if you plan on cooking there is to go to the store after inventory. No foil, saran wrap, toaster, only one roll of paper towels and other items you sometimes see. Grill is great so just grill!
