My husband’s family and our family rented the property bc of its proximity to The Hitching Post (15 minutes drive), since we were all attending a wedding there. The home itself is beautiful with open common spaces, french floor to ceiling windows that allow magnificent views of the Swan Lake situated on the back of the property and a lower level with space for entertainment (pool table, lounge areas and a bar). We went kayaking on the lake with the kayaks provided by the host. The kitchen provided ample space for cooking and the large dining table near the open kitchen comfortably accommodated our family of 10. The hosts left board games appropriate for my 5 yr old Twins to play and ice pops in the freezer. Spaces worth mentioning are the wrap around the back of the house deck and the sun room right off the kitchen - all also with beautiful views of the lake!
We stayed here for a family vacation this august. The house was large enough to house our entire family with beds to spare. It was perfect for small kids to adults. The listing has exactly what it describes and looks just like the pictures. The lake was beautiful. The location of this house is honestly the best on the lake. Nice sand to walk into which is perfect for kids. The water is incredibly clear and clean. We can't say enough good things about this home. It made for a wonderful family lake getaway! Thank you Shane!
Ideal location in a spacious house, 6 adults and 5 children. Central to many activities as well as all the lake activities
Perfect vacation for a 4 generation family. Plenty of room. Everything we needed was there, even the sunshine. Clean lake with easy access for swimming, kayaking and fishing. Everyone enjoyed their stay. Would def recommend.
We had a great time at the house!
The house is as advertised. The views when you walk in the house to the pond are perfect! The house has plenty of space for our group of 9 adults. The entertainment space is great, plenty of parking, the backyard is great for games and the best feature is the pond and all the kayaks on site for use. Would definitely stay there again!
We love our time in Maine. The house is spacious and clean. The kids have a big yard to play in and love fishing off the dock. The owner is very responsive and nice to work with. We are a 4 families with 17 people total.
This home was perfect for my family to get together for a weekend get away. There were 12 of us and there was plenty of space for us to spread out but also have meals together in the large dining area. We enjoyed peaceful mornings overlooking the pond from the deck and also ventured out for afternoon activities like Old Orchard Beach and golf. Communication was prompt with the owner and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Only two things that weren’t ideal were some of the beds were pretty uncomfortable…the queen bed room had a tough mattress to sleep on…and also the gas fireplace wasn’t working, so we just braved the cold and went outside to the fire pit. Overall, a wonderful place to gather with friends or family…absolutely beautiful scenery and plenty of space and things to do for all ages.
This house is stunning!! We had 12 adults (cousin's weekend) and had a wonderful time lots to keep you busy from kayaking (enough for 6 of us at one time) plus 2 paddle boards, a pool table, fire pit and plenty of seating outside to sit and read a book. Inside the dining room table was big enough for everyone to share a meal (which can be difficult in some homes).
Very comfortable home. We had all ages stay at the home. The downstairs was great for the teenagers, they had their own space. Being right on the water was a nice luxury!
The place was great, the water was clean and beautiful, a nice dock for our boat with a private launch. It was quite spacious inside and out. It was an extremely hot week and they had plenty of AC. We LOVED it there. So peaceful, too. The ONLY down side was the beds. They were very uncomfortable, and not just one of the beds, but all of them. I suggest the owners should invest in memory foam mattress toppers because guests spend 1/3 of their time in bed and want to sleep well so they can enjoy the lake and property the next day. The bed in the master bedroom was terribly hard and firm. I believe they said they bought new mattresses, but they were all way too hard. Some of us felt like we were sleeping on a board. LOL If you go, please bring memory foam pads for the beds. You will love it there!
The pond was relaxing and quiet. The kayaks were an added bonus and the kids loved the floating dock. The cabin is in a great location for day trips to the ocean towns. This was the first vacation in a long time that I wasn’t ready to leave. Would definitely stay again!
Beautiful clear lake with shallow sandy beach, or bigger kids/ adults can swim from the floating dock Very quiet and peaceful Wrap around deck means little ones can’t escape ! Went to the beach , a wolf sanctuary, the ice cream store in Alfred. For adults don’t miss the old book store in the middle of the village. Really good mix
We are absolutely in love with this house. Our group of 7 adults had more than enough room. The house was clean and provided nearly everything we could possibly need. We were happy to bring our own sheets and towels. The pond view is stunning and we enjoyed using the kayaks provided by the property. We highly recommended this rental and there's plenty of room for bigger families and friends.
Beautiful home with an amazing view. Very well kept home. Would highly recommend booking this home.
Great, private location. Large, flat yard was perfect for games. House was well equipped in the kitchen as well as outdoor toys like life jackets and paddleboards. Great deck overlooking back. I highly recommend.
Had a great time! We enjoyed having so much space in the yard to play games. Really enjoyed having a good amount of shallow water for the kids to play in. My sun caught his first fish as there was plenty of bluegills swimming around. The water was so clear as well! The house itself had plenty of space for everyone to gather and spend time together and also plenty of space to separate and have some quiet time when needed. Would definitely return for another trip!!
