This is a bright, relaxing, and comfortable home in a great location that was built by the owners with love. This is our primary residence but when renting, you will have the exclusive use of the house. We stay in neighboring property and will be able to assist with any needs and to make sure you have everything necessary for a great vacation.
We are happy to share our wonderful home and land with good people who will respect it. It is a fantastic location in the village of Cape Porpoise which is part of Kennebunkport. This home is unique as it is in the woods, yet a short walk to gorgeous water views and the conveniences of the village. Launch canoes or kayaks launch right across the street!

From the back porch, you will walk through the mudroom to see the big kitchen which is open to the living room and dining area. There is a downstairs master bedroom with master bath. A 1st floor 1/2 bath and laundry room as well. Upstairs leads to an art studio which is a loft style room that's somewhat open to downstairs living room/kitchen but can be used for additional sleeping with queen air mattress in closet. Upstairs you will also find 2 identical bedrooms and a full bath.

It's nice on a hot day to lay in the hammocks under the shade on our back porch. Or soak up the sun on the front patio where you can catch glimmers of the bay through the trees. Take a relaxing hot shower in the open air in our outdoor shower to wash the sand off from the beach. We have chickens but they will not be let out unless guests want them roaming around. You can help yourself to fresh eggs.
If you have children they will enjoy the playhouse with sandbox, little climbing wall and slide. This is also a wonderful place for bike riding as we are off a Dead end road (Langsford Rd.) with beautiful views of the bay, fishing pier, and Goat Island Lighthouse.

Neighbors are visible yet you are surrounded by trees and have privacy. Stroll down the driveway which opens up to Cape Porpoise Harbor. Across the street is a fish house where you can buy fresh tuna (sashimi grade!), or lobsters and clams caught that day, they'll even steam them for you! In minutes you can walk to Bradburys Market in the center of Cape Porpoise and grab some supplies/vacation essentials. You can walk to the Musette for a delicious breakfast (also serves lunch and dinner). Or stroll down beautiful Pier Road, around the head of the cove, to the fishing pier with seafood restaurants. Watch the boats come in with today's catch. This is all in our backyard, no car needed.

However; driving to local beaches is easy with over 5 beaches within 4 miles. Drive or bicycle down scenic ocean avenue past the Bush family compound to Kennebunkport, only 2.5 miles from the house for shopping, restaurants, and many more activities, including whale watches and sailing tours.

We will be more than happy to offer advice on activities in the area and assist with any other needs.

You can walk to everything in Cape Porpoise, yet the location is quiet and private. The owners couldn’t be more helpful. Perfect Vacation spot!

We had a great week in Cape Porpoise! The house was wonderful with a great yard and patio. Our kids loved the hammocks and the outdoor playset. We really enjoyed the location - walking to the center of Cape Porpoise for breakfast, etc. - and several great restaurants in the area. The owners were very nice and responsive. Definitely a great week!

We just returned from our week in Maine staying at this beautiful home. It was perfect for our family of 6. There wasn’t anything that we needed that wasn’t provided. It’s such an open yet very cozy space, in such a quiet and peaceful setting. We only had one question while we were there and Aaron responded immediately. We will definitely be returning next year!

Dana and Aaron were super accommodating of our 20-month-old twins. They left toys and books for us as well as plenty of baby gear. This was so helpful since we were coming from the west coast and weren't able to bring much with us. The house is amazing and you can tell the owners put a lot of thought into the design. We were very happy with our stay and hope to return.

We have been coming to Maine in summers for years and this is our favorite place to stay! It's in a beautiful setting, nestled in the woods and just a short walk into the town of Cape Porpoise, which we love. Grocery, deli, restaurants, shops, art gallery, library, church, and live lobster all within walking distance. The owners and their family make us feel so welcome and a part of their family. And the house is great too - a wonderful kitchen, sound system, comfortable furnishings, ground floor master with room upstairs for visiting family and friends. Don't think twice - just do it!

During this holiday I felt as if we were staying in a friend's house. It was very comfortable and Aaron and Dana had left the cupboards well stocked, plenty of linen and towels and a bottle of wine and coffee on our arrival. The house is beautiful, very eco-friendly and sitting within a wooded area. We loved watching the chipmunks and squirrels and the wild birds at the feeder and there's even a local fox that we occasionally caught a glimpse of. There's not a lot to do within walking distance (that we discovered anyway) although there are a couple of local shops and restaurants a few hundred yards away and we really enjoyed walking to them. We cycled to Goose Rocks beach, which felt as if it was mostly uphill (coming back was a breeze!). If you're like me, who worried about sending a prepayment direct to property owners I didn't know, rather than through the payment system on the website, then be reassured - everything went well on that side. I highly recommend this house and the warm welcome we experienced.

Wonderful home in a wonderful location! There wasn't anything we wanted we didn't have. Within walking distance of Langsford Lobster, the grocery, deli, several restaurants, the library, church, and the art gallery but we were nestled in the woods just another short walk from the water. It was beautiful! Aaron and his family members were great neighbors and we loved getting to know them. Would we do this again - you bet!
