A large Georgian Ramsgate holiday home overlooking the marina and pretty Royal Harbour, with views of France on a clear day. Ideal for an extended family looking for a holiday on the coast or golfers wanting to be closer to the now bustling bar and restaurant scene in Ramsgate.

The beautiful entrance hall leads into a light, spacious home with sweeping staircases spread over 4 floors, where the grandeur of its Georgian character meets the comfort of its contemporary design.

Each floor has been lovingly restored, with the ground floor offering a games room with pool table and Sky TV, and a boot room at the rear, where you’ll find plenty of space for storing watersports and golfing equipment, along with a drying area for any furry guests.

In the tradition of the Georgian style, the property’s living accommodation enjoys stunning views from the first floor, and French doors to a delightful south facing balcony on which to enjoy a coffee and croissant in the morning or gin and tonic in the evening bathed in sun.

A beautiful and historic Ramsgate town house, offering a very special holiday overlooking the sea.

Breathe in the fresh sea air, and on crisp evenings enjoy a brisk walk along the beach. Exhausted after a day out with the kids, then enjoy a glass of wine by the open fire.

The modern kitchen, and its adjoining dining area allows everyone to gather and reflect upon the adventures of the day over dinner or plan the day ahead.

With six bedrooms and four bathrooms, including the large ensuite master bedroom with king-size double, also blessed with magnificent views out to sea, there’s plenty of space for everyone to enjoy a wonderful holiday.

To ensure you enjoy your stay in our wonderful home we have provided the extra luxuries to make your stay special. The bedlinen and towels are White Company, toiletries are provided in the bathrooms and handbasins, and a welcome pack including some basic essentials means you will not have to rush out for milk as soon as you arrive.

Ramsgate is steeped in a rich colourful history, the Vikings having first landed nearby in AD 449. It remained however a sleepy fishing village until 1749 with the construction of the Harbour to protect the British Naval fleet. Our house was built in 1801 just before the outbreak of the Napoleonic Wars in 1803 and the heroics of Lord Nelson after which our street was named.

Spend your days enjoying one of England’s best beaches just a short walk from the house, or cycling the scenic Viking Coastal trails. Alternatively take a boat trip out to Goodwin Sands or the Stour Estuary and visit the seals or perhaps play tennis on one of three tennis courts in Spencer Square (free of charge) once the home of Vincent Van Gogh.

Browse the fashionable new shops just around the corner in Addington Street whilst for sustenance enjoy the neighbouring cafés, enjoying sea views and boats coming and going from the busy marina. In the evening go next door to The Empire Room, one of the many new exciting restaurant destinations in Ramsgate.

Very good communication with the host from the start. House was in good order, and was a lovely place for a family celebration weekend. Great location too, great views, near to town, cafes etc. All in all, very happy with our stay :)

Instructions from host were clear and helpful, house was stunning and full of stuff to do (nice pool table!), and we were spoilt for choice when it came to eating and drinking out in the local area. Staying in and cooking a meal “at home” was just as enjoyable. And a stone’s throw from the sea! A great place to stay.

Six older ladies enjoyed a week at this lovely house. The stairs kept us fit and we all had our own bedroom. Wonderful views from the front of the house, plenty of room for everyone. We were very fortunate with the weather and made use of excellent public transport to visit many local areas. The walk along the promenade was easy, lots of local bars and eateries. The house was well equipped although the kitchen pots and pans were a bit of a mish mash. The outside area could be made more attractive with some pot plants and a general tidy up, with some comfortable seating and tables provided. We would have liked to sit outside over a drink in the lovely weather. The house is enormous and the upkeep and maintenance must be huge. A few pieces of furniture were a little tired but we had a lovely time and would definitely return.

This grand house, overlooking the marina, has everything a larger party would need. Comfortable and large bedrooms. Modern bathrooms and plenty of space everywhere. The kitchen is bright and well equipped, with a sociable dining area. The lounge is comfortable, with a balcony that overlooks the pretty marina. There is a tv, dvd player and plenty of games and books. Parking for 2 cars is very convenient. Richard, the host, was available when we needed to contact him regarding a question we had. We highly recommend and would definitely go back

We were already had high expectations from the photos and previous reviews, and we were not let down at all.We are 4 couples who have had a week away together (with the kids and now just us 8) since the 1990s, and the Surgery rates as one of the best. Very spacious, well appointed and in a great location for walks, restaurants and pubs. All the bedrooms were big and comfy, master with an en-suite and 2 more bathrooms shared between rooms on other floors, and toilets on all the other floors.Kitchen was well equipped and with 2 ovens, perfect for nights in.Sky in every room (not that we actually watched anything), and with the pool room, we did say that in the past years (when 10 children were in tow), this place would have been perfect (and there were 2 high chairs and 2 travel cots).Car port at rear was very handy, but having 4 cars between us, needed on street parking, which was no problem either (free in Townley Street and Spencer Square very close, but if no spaces, the Esplanade is only a 10 minute walk and there was never a problem parking there).Bedford Inn gets a mention elsewhere, so we booked for Sunday lunch, and it really is fantastic and would recommend (as it also is for a very late night Cocktail).Walk to Broadstairs is great, and would recommend going to Sandwich and down to National Trust at White Cliffs and walking to the light house. All 8 of us loved the house, and definitely recommend.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the old surgery and it had everything we needed . Could have done with a few less stairs as our party are all late 60s /70s but we coped . The addition of the pool table was very much appreciated.

What a beautiful property and a fabulous stay. Richard was highly communicative throughout the process - the space was perfect for a gathering and the house was very well equipped. My only reason for dropping description to 4 star was we never found the 4th bathroom (3 bathrooms and 2 separate loos). Would come back in a heartbeat - what a pleasure to have the use of someone's beautiful home - thank you

This is our second time staying at this fantastic house in Ramsgate. The house is beautiful, really clean with plenty of space for all generations. The location is also excellent, just a stone's throw from the harbour with lovely walks along the beach. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Lovely older property sprawled across 4 floors with lots of stairs (plenty of places to stop for a rest!), fantastic views of the harbour and sea beyond from front viewing rooms. Within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beaches - what more could you ask for?! Parking spaces - there’s two around the back behind a security gate. We had a lovely time with great weather and enjoyed our welcome pack very much. Thank you!!
