A hidden GEM! So glad that we stayed at the Troll Den. This cozy and relaxing home is located in a quaint beach house community. Although it was the off season, we still had a blast! We loved taking night walks in this Winter Wonderland neighborhood. We felt very safe at all times and we also had 3 children under 7yrs with us. The kids loved playing at the Troll Den and found many fun things to do. The hand painted murals make the house so fun. Hands down, the most family friendly home we have ever stayed in. Anders is a wonderful host and has equipt the home with everything you need. We would love to go back and stay here again in the summer and enjoy all the lovely opportunities of that season as well. Thank you, Anders for a lovely stay!

This was a great place. We visited in November and it was very peaceful. I would also recommend touring the historic Barker Mansion in town.

The cottage was perfect for a girls getaway. Had everything we needed and was clean and welcoming. The area has alot of fun things to do!

Troll’s Den is exactly as described - very clean, excellent neighborhood, and very comfortable. Our party had 3 adults (Sistercation) but plenty of space, games, and books for children. We were at this Beachwalk property during the off season; however, we still visited the clubhouse and played ping pong. The pool and community area looked nice. Our home had a shared fire pit, bikes, and other amenities available that we did not use due to short stay of 3 nights. Highly recommend trails at the Indiana Dunes State Park including the 3 Dunes Challenge and Trail 10 along the water of Lake Michigan - excellent views. Our host Anders checked in on us and was available if needed. I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again.

Overall it was a good stay. The property felt safe and was clean. The pillows were very old and yellow on all of the beds upstairs. Changing those out could do a lot to improve the experience.

Everything was wonderful. We really enjoyed our time together and hope to come back!

Place was conveniently located to the wedding venue and another house that the bridal party was staying at. We weren't at the place very often but it served our needs and was maintained well

My family and I had a great stay at the Troll House while we were in town for a family wedding. The rooms were cozy, but had exactly what we needed, and my kids loved checking out the troll hole under the stairs. The bikes came in handy when we needed to ride over for some of the wedding activities at different beach stops, so that was fantastic! We also had a great time checking out some of the amenities at the Beachwalk, like kayaking, shuffleboard, and the pool. We had a wonderful time here, thanks for your hospitality!

We love the beachwalk resort and had a great time staying at the trolls den. The owner is very accessible and made sure we had everything we needed. My kids 17 and 10 had a fun time riding the shared scooters and bikes and it gave them some freedom to ride around plus get some exercise. We grilled on the gas grill and used the shared fire pit and there was plenty of wood available for that. Convenient parking in front, very cute place as well. It was perfect for our needs. The weather was great the week of aug. 26th and we didnt even use the Ac much at all. We had a great time and we would book it again!

Its such a cute community my 3 and 5 year old just loved riding their scooters around the neighborhood! Super quiet and has a cute playground! It was chilly when we came so we didnt do pool or splash pads but went to Washington Park and the zoo there and loved it ! Anders was the nicest host and lived next door if we needed anything! We will definitely be back !

House smaller than expected (around 700 sq ft), no golf cart available (actually prohibited) for this house, beach is several blocks away, bedroom windows only have white sheer curtains that do nothing to block out morning sun, needs better cleaning (cobwebs, splatters on kitchen wall, shower curtain filthy and needs replacing).

Most of the stay was exceptional including communication with owner. The only issue we had was with technology in 2 of the bedrooms our kids were in. Anders was responsive and offered to troubleshoot but I declined. The two bedrooms are in significant need of new TV's. The TV's advertised as DVD players xbox for DVD didn't work (no controller, manual menu browsing, etc) and even if they had it would have been a very antiquated experience (devices were at least 15-20 years old). For the cost associated with this rental I think updating the tech in those two rooms would be a reasonable request as new smart TV's are not a major investment these days.Otherwise, excellent stay. Anders was a very accomodating host and even offered to have his wife who is an R.N. check on our daughter who was under the weather.For some folks my minor complaint may be no big deal at all...we have four kids under 12 though and all are used to having easy access to TV at night.

We stayed in the Troll's Den with our family of 4 and it was just perfect. Easy checkin and good amenities. The property manager communicated everything that we needed to know and got us wristbands for the amenities, including paddle boats and playground. It was less than a mile walk to the beach. Lake Michigan was cold because we were there in May, so it felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Overall a great trip. The kids keep asking when we can go back.

I have lost count how many times that we have been to the Troll Den! It is perfect for our little family! Our kids love the community, walking around the neighborhood, and of course the beach!

This was my first time back to beachwalk after 10 years and my families first time. We had an amazing stay at Trolls Den! Anders was an absolutely amazing host! We will definitely be returning yearly! Thank you!

This was a great place to spend a weekend visiting the dunes! The cottage was as fun and whimsical as advertised, and the beachwalk was a really nice little vacation community, even during the off-season. When we left, my partner and I agreed that we would definitely come back. Highly recommend!

Host was excellent. Very communicative, rules were outlined and easy to follow. Able to find everything pretty easily. Was clean and plenty of space. Would love to come back and stay with more seasonably and warm weather (visited in March) ! The proximity to the beech and the resort community is a great spot w many amenities.

I cannot speak highly enough for our stay. I have traveled a lot; this by far blew my mind. This amazing community a diamond in the rut. The hosting family very helpful with my technological challenges and went above and beyond to make it magical for my girls. Everything well equipped and very clean. I would recommend to anyone. We had the best time!

Just a quick weekend with my family. We had a wonderful time, my kids had fun playing board games and watching movies with their cousins. We walked to the beach, although, it was cold but it was lovely. It was definitely a wonderful trip. Would do it again.

Took my small work team up for our planning sesh and we hunkered down at the cozy Trolls Den and got ‘er done. It was priced great and gave us all we needed. The host staff even shoveled the snow off our porch and under our car!! The greater Beachwalk community is beautiful and idyllic with the fresh snow and bright colored homes - we even bundled up and took a walk down to Lake Michigan and through neighborhood. #greatteammemories!!!

We needed a second house for an expanding family. This was down the street from the larger house and worked very well. One thought- the headspace between the bunk beds is not large enough for adults to sleep there.

We spent two wonderful days with friends at Indiana Dunes. We loved the house, the village, proximity to the beach, the area restaurants and a winery that was a delight to spend a quiet afternoon at.

Had not heard about Beachwalk but what a fun family friendly beach location. The Troll house was as cute as advertised and equipped with everything you need at the beach.

Had a good long weekend. Neighborhood was great for the kids.

We stayed here with our family of four which worked well for us. Close to the pool and beach, but it would have been nice to have a golf cart or wagon with little kids(listing said that there was a wagon, but there was none by our house). House was clean and had all of the necessities. Our kids loved the troll hole! The deposit is very very large, more than our entire rental fee-we stayed four nights. It takes the full two weeks to be refunded as well, so take that into account. Overall, it is a good place to stay, however, we would prefer somewhere with a smaller deposit and a golf cart or wagon.

We enjoyed staying in the trolls den the owner was very responsive the house is small but it worked for us as we had lots of other families to share bigger spaces with we basically just needed the sleep space anders took care of pool passes and parking for us
