Now accepting bookings for the 2026 season! Completely restored with attention to detail, this very spacious 1908 home is in the heart of the beach capital of Cape Breton, the town of Port Hood. It is a spacious, bright, and private property ideal for anyone.

The most popular sandy beaches and warm Atlantic waters are only a short walk down the street, or a two minute drive. Walk to any of the many amenities in town including grocery store, restaurants and pubs. The house is less thana 30-minute drive from the famed Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs golf courses.

All new, well appointed kitchen including stainless fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher. The original dining table seats eight comfortably.

There are two new full washrooms (one with a tub/shower and one with a shower), one upstairs one downstairs, as well as a new outdoor shower with hot water. The laundry room has a new, full sized washer/dryer, and a clothesline for beachwear and towels. The front living room with bay window is comfortable and relaxing, while the den down the hall with couch (converts to a bed) and tv offers a separate space for kids to hang out. We now have Starlink satellite for great connectivity.

Outside you will find a stainless bbq, a big side yard for games, picnic table for eight, and additional outdoor seating.

All furnishings are new or tastefully chosen antiques. Comfy beds have cozy linens in all three of the bedrooms plus den. We supply beach towels and chairs, a beach blanket and cooler.

Great character house with updated amenities. Wonderful location in the lovely Port Hood community - we are favourably biased to this whole area of the province. We'll be looking to visit again in the future.

Very clean and charming property with modern amenities. Walking distance to the grocery store and steps from the famous Port Hood beach! Enough space for an extended family with kids. Highly recommend this stay.

We took a trip to Nova Scotia and PEI with some friends and stayed in this lovely home in Port Hood. The home was exceptionally clean and well kept. Even though it was a 1908 house, there was hardly a creak in it! We enjoyed the location for a base during our time on Cape Breton Island. The only recommendation we would have is to put simple locks on the bathroom doors. Overall it was a great stay and would highly recommend it.

Beautiful old house, very close to the water. Enjoyed beautiful sunset views, close to Cabot Trail, and enjoyed entertainment nearby at the Red Shoe pub.

Beautifully renovated home! Our family of five stayed here for a week, and being from the area, entertained family and friends throughout the week. The house never felt overcrowded with a kitchen / dining space perfect for the east coast kitchen party. The house is well equipped throughout. We would certainly stay here again!

This is a lovely, tastefully renovated old house. Port Hood is a charming area, the beaches are wonderful (the water is delightfully warm!) The house is very well equipped with everything you could want and the hosts are extremely responsive. I recommend morning coffee on the front porch.

We had a lovely week in the Yellow House! We had never visited Nova Scotia before and this was a great introduction. Even before check in Tim was a responsive host, answering questions to get us set up for the week. Check in was super easy, and Tim let us know the house was ready early for us. The house itself is immaculately clean and fully stocked with nearly everything you could think of. Our stay was during very warm weather, so one or two more fans would have helped, but it wasn’t a big deal. The beds were comfortable and everything was up to date. I loved the sonata the washer would sing when done with a load! The Port Hood area is stunning. We particularly loved Sunset Beach. The water was warm and calm all week. Port Hood is a great launch point for adventures to Baddeck, Inverness, and Cheticamp as well. Thanks to the Yellow House for a fantastic intro to Atlantic CA!
