House was very clean, beds were comfortable. Great stay!
Very clean. Lovely antique furniture. Walk to town public square for restaurants, coffee shop and local events.
The house comfortably fit three couples. We had plenty of room to spread out and really enjoyed our time on the front porch
The pictures do not do it justice. Overall a great stay! Check in / out was quick but had to go to a retail business to pick up key. Home was very clean, but was a little dissappointed that the upstairs ( bath and sleeping area) was so hot! The downstairs was a very comfortable.
The house was clean, updated, spacious, beautiful and very comfortable. The location was quiet and close to downtown, which made it nice for walks. We really enjoyed our stay!
Very clean and nice amenities.
Beautiful stay. Convenient to Nelsonville Square and the theater, which is why we were in town. Very clean home. So much space. Loved our stay. Easy check in and check out.
This is a great house and we thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the bathrooms needs an update, but otherwise lovely. The town is a bit rough but the house is in the lovely historic district. When asked for the slightest leniency on check in and checkout, the management co was entirely inflexible… but, for a fee they could find their way to allow a late checkout. We were driving by 35 mins. before the checkin time and tried to pick up the key, but we’re turned away. I find that renting from individual owners is so much better than these management companies which are generally expensive and inflexible.
Great time
Great place. Very clean. Close to many great places to hike.
This property was very clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. We came to Ohio to hike in the Hocking Hills area and each night it felt good to come back to this house to relax. It was about a 30 minute drive to Hocking Hills. Nelsonville was nice enough and though not a lot to do, the Rhapsody restaurant was outstanding and a hike uphill to see the Nelsonville Cross up close was well worth the effort. We went in October and if you like Halloween I will note that many yards were highly decorated for that. One small issue is that the thermostat could be turned up and would heat for a while but would always go back to 68° or lower which is a little chilly for me. One morning it was down to 62°. But perhaps there was some way to keep it at the set temperature though we couldn't figure it out. Also, there was no information binder as I have always found in other rentals so we had to call with questions. The check in and check out was easy although in another building in town but the people there were very nice.
Rented this place for a girls weekend. It was a beautiful well kept home that was clean and fully furnished. The owners were quick to respond to questions. Gps was a little lost getting us to the exact house but we quickly found it. The neighborhood is cute and appears to be trying to make a comeback to its glory days. It was a short drive to hocking hills. Would definitely stay again.
The entire experience of staying with 1st Choice Properties was excellent. The check-in was clear and easy. When we arrived at the house, it was impeccably clean. This particular house is quite old (built in the 1850's), but the kitchen and all 3 bathrooms have been nicely updated. The interior design and decor are tasteful and modern. We encountered a small issue during our stay (we couldn't find the ironing board that was listed as being included). We contacted the management team and they addressed it promptly and to our complete satisfaction. I very highly recommend this house and 1st Choice Properties. We would definitely stay wtih them again!
A beautiful, impeccably clean house. The town is small. It is a beautiful home and I would love there in a minute. The home is right by the town square. The town is small. A few local restaurants are within one block. 2 of 3 were closed the weekend we were there. You’re 30 minutes away from Hocking Hills State Park. Beautiful park. We went tubing on the Hocking river and that was great. We were just minutes away from that.
Great location great house easily shared. Has like 2 separate sleeping areas and tons of room
This property is exactly as pictured. As mentioned in previous reviews there is no hot tub. We were offered a free kayaking trip. The back yard was wonderful and relaxing. We enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders. The house was very clean. I do wish check in and check out could have been on site but it was only about 5 min away from the property.
Check-in was quite a distance from the actual property. And while the inside of the house was lovely , the outside areas were not taken care of , the back patio was covered with weeds and not a inviting space for those who enjoy relaxing. Also a hot tub was listed in the amenities, and according to the manager there has never been one. The manager tried to make it right by comping us a kayak trip , but the river was closed because of unsafe levels. We enjoyed the house , it was comfortable and well cared for .and would stay again , next time we will bring our gardening tools and gloves , and pay it forward !
The listing said there was a hot tub and there was not
The 1850 Inn exceeded all of our expectations! It is beautifully decorated, well appointed, and felt like home. It was easy to find, and situated in a great location. The town is quiet but still has options for dining, coffee, and attractions. I would stay at this property again!!
