Description:
Bearwallow Retreat is a newly constructed, high-end vacation rental; designed with you, our guest specifically in mind. It's sister home, Bearwallow Cottage is one of the most popular homes in our Yonder luxury portfolio, as it has been operating for over 5 years(!). This mountain home was designed from that template, but made just a little bit better. It is quickly becoming a favorite retreat for guests! It is not surprising when you put a terrific home together with a private, secure property, extensive outdoor space to walk, run, or ride a bike with views and more.

25 minutes' drive (16 miles) to downtown Asheville, our secluded cottage on Bearwallow Mountain has breathtaking views of Blue Ridge Mountains from spacious front porch. Newly upgraded kitchen and bathrooms. Right-off-the-property, easy-access hiking trails to breath-taking views.on the top of the Bearwallow mountainside; just a short drive to just about everything. It is VERY easy to access the home, via only paved roads right up to Bearwallow Mountain Road, which is gravel, but used by all vehicles. The home affords year round access, does NOT require 4-wheel drive except in Winter.

Open, light-filled interior with bedrooms & full baths downstairs and ample loft space plus full bath upstairs. Inviting, spacious front porch with breath-taking views ideal for lounging, birdwatching, dining, dancing and truly getting away from it all. This special home is nestled in mountains and is made for people who love beautiful mountain scenery.

Get ready to feel relaxed and right at home in this cozy, contemporary mountain style retreat home. With mountain & forest views, high ceilings, vaulted spaces, wood, carpet and tile floors, you will immediately feel at home at Bearwallow Retreat. (That is of course if you can tear yourself away from the relaxing forest views & soaking in spectacle of the Blue Ridge Mountains, & actually venture inside!) The great room, with abundant comfortable seating, and fully equipped kitchen, is where everyone will want to gather to enjoy their time together inside the house. But, if you need some alone time, there is plenty of space inside and out to find your own serenity. There are outside porches, decks, and patios for ultimate outdoor relaxation & private forest views.

Covered pickleball court available year round!

Kids & adults love getting out in and around the expansive private enclave & explore the other outdoor areas. While everyone enjoys the home and on-site & nearby amenities, you can pull up a chair and take in the relaxing privacy afforded by the mountainside forest view, observe the night as it fills with stars, and watch the fire flies come out to play in your backyard. Or, toast some s'mores and share stories, well into the star-filled nights at the expansive outdoor fire-pit.

The entire space, home, deck, hot tub, & surroundings were spotless. I wore white socks all day in the house & they didn’t get dirty at all! The very clean, roomy hot tub was used every day by kids & adults. We enjoyed the firepit & all the nice dry wood & kindling too. Beds & pillows were very comfy. There are crock pots, pots & pans, two cookie sheets, utensils, & spatulas, etc. for cooking. A very nice surprise was plenty of empty containers (extra large bowl & baskets) to put fruit and snacks in. The only thing we missed was a mixer when making cookies & the ice maker in the refrigerator didn’t work. We had a bag of ice, so didn’t bother reporting it. We cooked all but one or two of our meals during the week at the home. We had 3 families & a niece & there was more than enough room. The grocery store we used is Ingles. Nice-very much like Publix. It’s a 30 minute drive from the house-be sure to get all you think you need while there. Drive slow & carefully up to the house-there are several hairpin turns. We had hoped for snow, but we’re glad we didn’t get it because of the steep, winding roads going up to the house. It would be great to have beach towels to use when getting out of the hot tub-especially since there’s no more than one towel per person in the bathrooms. Views from the home & hot tub are amazing. You can walk to several nice hiking trails from the house! Very quiet & peaceful! Only hated having to pay so much in fees to VRBO AND Yonder! Would love to return!

Our group had an amazing time. The place was clean, and fully stocked with everything we needed. The best part was the environment around us. The location is perfect and there’s plenty to explore around there.

We were 13 adults and kids with 2 adult visitors one day. The house is exactly as pictured, well-built, lots of comfortable nice furniture inside and outside. Nice size hot tub, fun pickleball court (even though you have to adjust your game to no lobbing because of rafters and wedding netting hanging up). The scenery is nice and hiking trails all around. I would definitely recommend Bearwallow Retreat to families who enjoy pickleball, hiking, and hot tubs!

One of the best vacation rentals I've ever stayed in. The property was one of the highlights and even better than expected with pickleball, disc golf, and trails - plenty of space to roam around and play. The deck and house were clean, spacious, and luxurious with plenty of space for a big group. Kitchen well stocked. Owner and management were responsive and fixed problems as they arose. We had a wonderful week, thank you so much - we will stay here again. Only critiques - some squeaky beds and the hot tub kept getting stinky(might need a better chlorine/sanitation method)/

This retreat was above and beyond anything anything we could’ve ever expected. The host’s attention to detail showed just how loved and cared for this property is. From the labeled drawers, to the electric car charger this property had everything we needed and also everything we didn’t realize we needed until our stay! We were in town for a wedding but once we arrived we wished the wedding was actually on the property! The pavilion/pickle ball court provided so many hours of activity & exercise, and the hiking trails were a dream! The house was exactly what you would picture for the ideal mountain house! The next time we come back we intend to rent out the entire poplars for a family affair!

We had a great time gathered with friends at this property. It was perfect for our four families, all with young kids. Great kitchen for all the cooking, access to hiking trails from the front door, pickle ball, fire pit, hot tub… we really didn’t even need to leave! We’d definitely rent again.

3 Generations of family enjoyed this beautiful home tastefully set-up and well-supplied. Our family enjoyed the on-site amenities (corn hole, hot-tub, pickle ball court and hiking trails near-by) and took advantage of all of them. The beds were great and the expansive deck was the best!
