I've stayed at dozens of Hatteras houses, and this was by far the best — it truly did feel like a home. Cozy, thoughtfully decorated, incredibly well-stocked, and the best views!

This was our second time spending the holidays at the beach front and it was amazing. Everything was excellent. The view from the deck is incredible. All the rooms were super clean. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked and just simply awesome.

The host is amazingly friendly and responsive and has everything set up you could possibly need. The house is immediately home when you arrive.

House was beautiful! We enjoyed being right on the beach. Karl was easy to communicate with and very responsive. We will definitely rent again!

The beach house well exceeded our expectations and provided a wonderful retreat for celebrating my wife's birthday. The southern location was private and quiet, but close enough to businesses to provide anything that we needed. Our hosts were very responsive and accommodated our request to extend our stay to take advantage of the superb weather. Overall, this property was one of the best rentals that we have experienced in any location. We plan to return again!

Beautiful open house in a great location. Short walk to your own beach. Great for bigger or smaller groups. Recommended!

This is a quintessential beach house. Beautiful ocean views and an open comfortable living area. It would be hard to leave the deck, but the beach is right there to enjoy with a great supply of beach toys for the whole family. We will be going back soon.

The house is as wonderful as we hoped it would be! We loved the bright, open spaces, location, and view. The house is so well stocked with essentials and ample towels (bath, beach, kitchen). We cooked every night and had everything we needed to bake, fry, grill and more! The master bathroom is huge with a large tub and walk in closet. All of the bedrooms feel so private. We visited Buxton for the seafood and bookstore and checked out Connor’s market. Took a day trip to Ocracoke and the Wright Brothers’ memorial. Visited Bodie lighthouse and watched the sunset while wading in the sound. Made a stop at Island Spice & Wine and found a great coffee shop, Uglie Mugs. We hit the beach every day and while the dunes were certainly challenging, it was worth the work. Karl and Stacy were great communicators and answered all our questions. We could not have asked for a better experience or host. Avon is peaceful, natural, and beautiful, and the house fits it perfectly. One of my favorite beach vacations of all time.

The stay at this house was great, perfect size for our family. Even though about an hour from nags head there were still local shops/food and things to do. The dunes were a bit hard on my in laws to walk over to get to the beach but we took the opportunity to drive on the beach a block away a few times. The host was very responsive as well. Barely anyone on the beach and the town was very cute and felt safe. Highly recommend! Thank you Karl and Lucy!

Well appointed home with towels, linens, and kitchen amenities. Living space was wonderful for cooking, eating, and playing games as a family. Views were excellent. We have been to OBX three times and this was the best, we would stay at this property again.

My sister and I stayed at Beachfront on the Dunes and it was a fantastic vacation. The views were incredible. The house was very roomy and comfortable. It’s equipped with several TVs, books and plenty of games. I had to text the host with a question and he got back to me immediately. Choose this house for a 5 Star vacation experience.

This was a perfect location with two families of 5 with children ranging from 18-9. Quiet enough to hear the waves all the time, but stores close enough to walk to. We had the beach to ourselves the whole week, and the weather could not have been better. Plenty of space and places to relax. Looking into coming back next spring!

Overall this was a great beach house. There were minor maintenance issues and beach access is challenging - while it is an oceanfront house the path over the dunes is a difficult climb, especially for toddlers and adults with knee issues. But it had everything we needed and was in a quiet area with beautiful views.We went out for dinner twice. The local Chinese restaurant was acceptable but unimpressive. Diamond Shoals in Buxton was expensive but well worth it.

Five ladies enjoyed a comfortable 6 day stay. All communication with the owners was very prompt and helpful. The house was very clean and stocked with essentials to host a bigger party than we even had. Plenty of room to be all together to share time, as well as individual space when desired. Washer and dryer is super handy. Thank you.We enjoyed the sunrise over the water each morning. Great opportunity to look for shells and creatures washed up on the beach. The beach erosion has caused the beach access to have a steep drop-off. Be prepared for a sandy climb. There are plenty of beach access points for the ocean or the sound if the house access isn't for you. Be prepared for many stairs in the house. The climb is good for exercise, but challenging when carrying multiple coolers and luggage up. Teamwork is great. :)The house location is great. Easy trip to Hatteras Lighthouse (under construction), The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, ferry to Ocracoke, and The Apple Blossom, among many others. Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, and Corolla are fun places to visit. Avon is best for a quiet southern OBX place to stay.

Great house and the views are spectacular. There are high dunes in order to access the beach, so if you have anyone with disabilities, it will be very hard for them to go down to the beach. Close to a Food Lion supermarket. The manager/owner was great and shared many options to go and visit. He responded promptly. Overall, great house to relax and disconnect.

Great home in a great location. We really enjoyed our family stay in this home. House was clean, beds were comfortable, and kitchen was well equipped. Location was quiet and allowed us to explore everything from Corolla to Hatteras with reasonable drives. Communication with the host was quick and thorough. I would highly recommend the home.

We went to OBX for Christmas week for a peaceful and romantic getaway. We wanted plenty of room and a well equipped kitchen. We were not disappointed. Everything we needed to make prime rib and steaks and so many other great things was provided for us. The house is beautiful and when you step into the main living area you feel like you are home. The house was immaculate, the furnishings are comfortable and stylish and there are cozy spots everywhere. This was one of the best trips we’ve ever taken. We would go back in a heart beat. We took a lot of stuff with us in case we needed it and ended up leaving it in the car because the house was so well stocked. Owners are very responsive and helpful. Loved it!!!

A perfect beachside home. Fantastic location with wonderful views of the beach and ocean. The home is very well appointed with everything and more to make your stay comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook for a large group. We would happily stay here again.

The view is incredible! It was nice to wake up and hear the waves. Nice, large deck and furniture to sit on while you relax to the waves and view. Saw gorgeous sunrises as well as a moonrise one evening! Good location between Graveyard of the Atlantic museum and Cape Hatteras to the south and Nags Head and Kitty Hawk to the north. Owners were very responsive when we had questions. Highly recommended!

This house has the most beautiful views of the ocean from the living area and patio. It is a very easy walk to the beach which was clean and enjoyable for the kids. The hosts did a great job of providing chairs, sand toys, and boogie boards. As expected for the area, the waves are huge so less actual swimming took place, but for young kids the beach and playing in shallow areas is perfect for what we wanted. The outdoor shower was super handy. We greatly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend if you want a relaxing atmosphere with a beautiful view.

Beautiful, clean, welcoming beach home. This is a home that is owned and decorated by people who love the beach. It has a warmth and a personality that makes it truly a great vibe for a stay at the beach. Also, the proximity to the beach and surf view is the best we've ever had. Also, kitchen fully equipped, as attested by the two professional chefs who are our family members. To be absolutely perfect, the house could add some high outdoor deck chairs so that the view of the ocean would be unobstructed by the deck railing.

Loved staying @ the Beach House! The views from the living room were absolutely stunning, I could sit there all day and get lost in the tranquility of the ocean. The house was so clean & spacious. We are a family of five, with teenage/adult children and everyone had more than enough personal space. Loved having a stocked kitchen and also an outside area that had everything you needed from surf boards to chairs/umbrellas. Very peaceful section of the beach, not crowded at all! Karl was extremely helpful answering any questions/concerns we might have had. Food lion less Than quarter mile away so getting groceries was simple . Added bonus of a community pool, which my husband loved for early morning laps. Kids and I were sad when we had to leave, we will miss the views and the great memories made in Avon this summer.
