Beach House Steps From Marsh & Wells Beach. Sunsets, bird watch, surf, swim!

Just loved this adorable three-storied cottage. Went on a girls getaway in October and searched high and low for the perfect place to accommodate 6 of us. The marsh views and close proximity to the ocean as well were like the cherry on the cake lol. The wrap around deck is a perfect place to relax, read, sip your fav beverage or just take in the view of the marsh. Which is right in front of you. There are cute spots tight to the house (in addition to the ample deck) for outside chilling. There are also beach chairs to use if you can’t fit yours lol. The house is three floors. Spiral staircase. Everything you need is provided. Seriously. The house was spotless and there are two full bathrooms. We really looked forward to coming back at days end to relax and spend time there. And most definitely can hear the oceans surf from the house. Beach access is right across the street. Boom. Beach. It’s a great spot. Our host, Kris, was so helpful and got back to me with answers to questions I had very quickly. It was reassuring to know someone was out there to help us navigate if needed. The entire process was very straight forward and Kris helped make it that way. Very appreciative we were. The area has anything and everything one could ask for. Very close to grocery stores, restaurants, other beaches etc. We had a great time and enjoyed the property very much. I was able to walk into the house I rented online looking at pics only, and said “Wow, so so cute”. Thanks

Lovely home and the location is excellent. We just stayed down the street from family so we didn't use the entire house. The only tough part was the spiral staircase. It can be a challenge for little ones or older people but otherwise lovely!

Check in was easy. The house was clean and convenient to the beach. Views of the marsh and harbor were outstanding. We enjoyed staying at this beach house. A great family vacation!

Kris is a fabulous communicator, making sure our stay was perfect. This was our fifth year staying at this property and it can't be best. Marsh views with sunsets off the porch, quick walk to the beach making runs back to the house for snacks or I forgot easy, the location can't be beat.

Best vacation we’ve had in years! The location of the house is perfect- coffee overlooking the back beach in the morning was truly so peaceful. It’s at the end of Atlantic Ave where you don’t have to worry about losing the entire beach at high tide. The owner is very responsive and the house is just beautiful and spacious and comfortable. Definitely a place we’d go again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beach. The location is perfect for everything we love to do. Long walks, runs and bike rides; games and lounging on the beach and then back to the house for a great dinner.

Property is well located for beach access. Clean, comfortable and well furnished all around. Host was very helpful. Very much enjoyed the stay and would recommend to others. Should be 4 1/2.

The mildew odor was overwhelming when we checked in. It never left even with windows open. I suspect there is water damage somewhere and possibly mold. Neighboring homes are being elevated because of flooding that must've happened over the winter or early spring.

The Good: Wells Beach itself is nice - family friendly, calm waves, clean sand. Locals are friendly. The rental house was reasonably clean and is a few minute walk away from the beach. The Bad: The rental house has absolutely no spectacular views of the ocean nor does it have 3 vehicle parking as claimed in listing at the time of this writing. Marsh view only, and two cars max parking. There are no sidewalks and many roadside obstructions that make walking anywhere unpleasant at best, and somewhat hazardous at worst. Bedroom doors have no locks so bring your own lock if privacy is important to you. We resorted to wedging a broomstick between the bedframe and door. The retrofitted spiral staircase, while entertaining for the first hour or two, is located in close proximity to the entrance door and this makes for a very cumbersome layout... watch your head when entering or exiting the house. The Ugly: The spiral stairs are inherently dangerous. Not only were a dozen bolts missing and numerous hand rail supports disconnectd, but the riser of every step is made of sharp metal that can catch the heel of feet while descending the stairs. My husband, and two of my children sustained lacerations from the spiral staircase. One of these injuries was quite severe removing a large flap of skin. To make matters worse, the property owner did not seem too concerned and was slow to respond to messages. Typical response time was several days.

My husband and I and two other couples had a wonderful week at the house. It took just a minute or two to walk to the beach just across the road. We enjoyed the common indoor and varied outdoor gathering spaces that the house offered. Further, the kitchen was well-stocked with most everything we needed, and there was an accurately-depicted well-worn assortment of beach chairs and toys. While the two first-floor bedroom mattresses should be and some of the furniture coverings could use an update (replacement/recovering), we thoroughly enjoyed the space and our time there.

We had a great time and the house was perfect for us. The location is ideal, and the host was extremely generous and communicative. I would highly recommend.

We love how comfy and beautiful this home is! Great indoor and outdoor spaces, close to the beach beautiful views of the marsh. Comfortably fits our 4 adults and two kids. Making great memories! This is our third year and we just booked for 2025!

Nice place for beach activities

Great location right across from the beach. Clean family friendly house close to restaurants and stores. We have rented this house four summers and always had a wonderful summer vacation.

Beautiful home and perfect location for our family celebration in Wells Beach. We had an amazing time.

It would be important to respect this rental because the house is so tastefully furnished and has everything you would ever need and more. All sorts of outdoor spaces have been created where one can relax or have a bite and it was a pleasure to open the sliding doors in the morning and greet the sunlight over the boats on the marsh. The beach is right across the road, too. If you have children, they will find books and games and there is even a Pack 'N Play. This owner has thought of everything!

Our first trip to coast of Maine. This home provided the space we needed with 3 bedrooms. We enjoyed our stay here and the beautiful view of the water behind the home. The owner was very accommodating and easy to contact for questions. Thank you.
