Cape Charles, Virginia
This historic duplex home was built in the early 1900s, when Cape Charles was founded. It has just been newly renovated for the 2017 rental season. This 2 bedroom home is a 1/2 block from Mason Ave. and 3 short blocks to the beaches. From the ground up with all NEW utilities including central air conditioning along with new plumbing and electrical throughout. 2 1/2 newly renovated baths with granite floors and countertops, a lovely new kitchen and plenty of room to spread out for a group of 6. This two-story home has a kitchen, dining room, and parlor room on the first floor and two beds and two master baths on the second floor.
The property was in a perfect location to the beach and town!!
The location of the house was perfect. It was close to shops and the beach. It was clean, and well stocked with cookware, dishes, spices, extra towels, blankets, laundry supplies and anything we needed for beach fun! Check in was a breeze, and Jack was helpful, kind and quick to respond whenever we needed to contact him. We hope to be back!
The home was very thoughtfully renovated and pictures don’t do it justice! Lots of space, high ceilings, beautiful natural light! Kitchen is stocked. Shed full of beach toys and chairs. Another review mentioned the steep stairs… all bedrooms are in the second floor so something to consider if stairs are difficult for you. My 4 year old took them like a champ though with no issues. Nice location next to downtown. We rented a golf cart for the week to get to/from the beach with all our gear (may have been our kids favorite part). Plenty of parking. Had a lovely week and would absolutely stay here again!
Very, very nice home, updated, a few blocks to downtown. Jack is a great host! We have stayed on other east coast beach towns, this was the best. Just big enough to have great restaurants, check out Sea and Sand Family Restaurant !
We absolutely loved this property!! Jack (the owner) was accommodating and wonderful. There was an unlimited supply of anything that we needed, from garbage bags to laundry soap and more. The house is spacious and beautifully done. I was incredibly happy there. Big front porch and back porch and big back yard. AC worked great. It was perfect!!
This house is a great beach rental. Large new kitchen, outdoor shower, easy walk to the beach and shed full of beach paraphernalia. Our family of 5 loved it.
We enjoyed our stay at Cape Charles Beach House - 309. It was well kept and a peaceful location. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet and peaceful place to relax at the beach.
We visited Cape Charles in October, when the season was mostly over and it was quiet. So relaxing! This accommodation was in the perfect location...walking distance to the town shops, port and restaurants, and a short drive from state parks, marshes, etc. for bird watching and walking. The unit was nicely furnished, meticulously clean, and quite spacious. The kitchen was equipped well with pots, utensils and dishes, as well as a few staples for cooking. The back deck had a barbecue grill, table and chairs for hanging out, and the front porch had rockers for watching the world go by. Plenty on street parking...all in all a very pleasant stay.
Great location, well kept and nicely furnished house with a well equipped kitchen! We’ll be back! Truly enjoyed our stay!
This was a great rental for the week. We were located a few blocks from the beach and one block over from the downtown area. We rented a golf cart to help with getting to the beach with kids and their stuff, but it was just an extra convenience and not required based on this location. The kitchen is well stocked and the yard was well maintained. It was also nice to have conveniences like beach towels and chairs and hand soap! It was a nicely set up house to arrive to. On the other hand, it was a little more awkward than I anticipated to share a duplex with another family. They were lovely, but it is hard to share, say an outdoor shower, or the front porch, with another group. Overall it didn’t end up being too big of a deal on account of them being a nice crew. The other thing was the house was VERY damp, to the point that clothes and towels did not dry inside. I would also warn families with small kids that the stairs are very steep and all of the blinds have long cords on them and can’t be pinned up for safety. We encountered a few bugs, but nothing out of the ordinary for being at the beach. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Cape Charles.
