Beach Bums Only relax steps from the private Marina Village Beach. The name says it all. This Cape Charles escape is designed for family and friends to get away. Beach Bums Only is a custom-built home approximately 100 yards from the Chesapeake Bay. Enjoy your beach vacation in the private, gated community of Marina Village East. Enjoy the community pool in New Quarter of Bay Creek while out exploring or enjoy the home's private pool overlooking the community lake. Enjoy the bay sunsets from the front decks or relax out back looking at your own pool, lake, and the Cape Charles lighthouse water tower in the distance.



Beach Bums Only has two bedrooms on the first floor with queen-sized beds and a full hall bath. There is another full bath on the second floor. The main living areas are also on the second floor to capitalize on views. There is a master on the second floor with two full-sized beds and the fourth bedroom has two sets of bunk beds with fulls on the bottom and twins up top. On the third floor, there is only a landing available for guests to spread out a bit. Kids will probably have fun hiding, looking down, and spying on the dining area below.



Spread out and enjoy the custom upgrades indoors or take advantage of the many decks to bum around outside.

This home includes complimentary access to a variety of Bay Creek Resort amenities, perfect for active and nature-loving guests. Enjoy a junior Olympic-size pool, tennis and pickleball courts, a private community beach, and over 10 miles of scenic hiking and biking trails winding through a stunning 365-acre nature preserve.



Please note: Access to the Bay Creek Life Center is not included, nor available for purchase.



Guest Access:

This home uses keyless entry for self-check-in; your door code is sent by email and text 2 weeks (or less) prior to arrival. Early check-in and late check-out are available upon request (subject to availability). Please contact us at least 24 hours in advance.



• While the complimentary resort amenities of the Bay Creek Resort are included, please note the Members Life Center is not available to guests.

Cape Charles is located near the southern tip of Virginia’s Eastern Shore right on the Chesapeake Bay. Cape Charles is a small town (the historic area is roughly a six block by six block square) that sits on the peninsula’s western coast, meaning you can sit on the beach in Cape Charles and watch the sunset right over the water. On the Chesapeake Bay, not the Atlantic Ocean, the water is calm and shallow. By booking with Chesapeake Properties by Portoro, guests agree to the guidelines below to help ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable stay.



• Portoro Rental Agreement + Identity Registration. All guests staying at one of our Portoro homes are required to complete identity registration and sign a rental agreement via e-signature. Non-compliance may result in sizable fines.

• Age Requirement. The reservation holder must be 25+.

• Arrival Support + House Manual + 24/7 Support. Upon arrival, Portoro aims to ensure your safety, proper access to the home, and understanding of guest features. All guests are required to read the house manual upon arrival. If you have any questions, please reach out to Portoro, our team is available 24/7.

• Directions + Check-In Details. Before check-in, Portoro will send all check-in details, detailed directions, and a digital guest guide for the home by email and text to help ensure a seamless arrival.

• Check-In / Check-Out (Early/Late Requests). Check-in is 4:00pm and check-out is 11:00am. We can't guarantee early check-ins or late check-outs, and a fee typically applies. When approved, fees apply for times outside a one-hour window of standard check-in/check-out. If you need significant flexibility, the best option is to book an additional night.

• Parking Restrictions. Boats, campers, RVs, trailers, and similar vehicles are not allowed in condo complexes. If you need parking for boats, campers, RVs, trailers, or similar vehicles, please contact Guest Experience for nearby storage locations or any property-specific options.

• Local Taxes (Including Extended Stays). Both the local jurisdictions (Town of Cape Charles, Northampton County) and the State of Virginia require hotel/vacation rental hosts to collect hotel tax. We collect these taxes within the booking transaction. Please inquire separately for terms and conditions.



• Animals/Pets, No Pets. This is a no pets property. A $150/day fee will apply for violations, and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund (at the discretion of Portoro). Portoro follows ADA guidelines, and any additional community or HOA rules may apply.



• No Smoking. This is a no smoking property. Penalty fees apply for violations, and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of Portoro.

• No Parties or Events. Parties and events are not permitted.

• Quiet Hours. 10:00pm-8:00am. These hours reflect local residential and regional expectations, please keep noise low and be mindful of neighbors.

• Report Damages. Any known damages incurred during your stay must be reported to the property manager immediately.

• Security. Some Portoro properties have exterior-only cameras for monitoring.

• Local or Property Water Features. Some Portoro properties may have pools, hot tubs, or other nearby water features. There is no guard around water features, use at your own risk.

• BBQs/Grills, No Personal Units. Personal BBQs/grills (including charcoal, propane, electric, or portable units) are not permitted on the property. Please use only the grills provided for guest use, if available.

• No Feeding Wildlife. Feeding wildlife is strictly prohibited at all properties to avoid damage and nuisance issues. In condo complexes or HOA communities, fines may apply for violations. Additional cleaning, sanitation, and remediation fees may also apply at the discretion of Chesapeake Properties by Portoro and/or the HOA.

• Wildlife + Pests. You may see local wildlife during your stay. Please help keep the home and outdoor areas free of food and trash, secure all garbage in the provided bins and do not leave food outside. For homes that include or offer BBQs, please bring all food items inside and scrape grills clean after use to avoid attracting wildlife. The home is regularly treated for pests, but occasional insects may still appear.
