Harpswell, Maine
Imagine water all around you as you stand in the living room of this recently renovated cottage, and you feel as though you're standing on the bridge of a ship--water, water everywhere. This 3BR, 2BA cottage rests directly on Middle Bay (Casco Bay area) with stair access to approximately one hundred feet of private sand/rock/calm-water beach. You'll love the deck for cooking and eating outside, a separate yard for ball or badminton games and privacy without isolation. Families love the ability to swim, fish or investigate tidal pools without leaving the property. Mom and Dad can enjoy quiet time on the deck as the setting sun provides a gorgeous show.
Inside the cottage you will find a fully stocked kitchen, dining area with seating for 6, a full bathroom with a shower, a living area with beautiful ocean views, as well as a wall-mounted tv with cable and internet. Upstairs you'll find a bedroom with two twins, a full bathroom with a shower, closet space in the hallway, and the master bedroom with ocean views. In the lower level, there's a queen bed, additional storage space, and access to the washer and dryer. For added comfort and convenience, the owners installed heat pumps offering heat and A/C for the warm summer months.
Despite its quiet location and relative privacy, it`s still close to wonderful restaurants and other local amenities. It`s also only 15 minutes from Brunswick for shopping and supplies. If you`re looking for beachfront living at its finest--with updated interiors, 180-degree views of the water and a small beach community--this is your new favorite vacation spot!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve never stayed in the midcoast area before and were very pleased with our experience with the Bay Vista property and MaineStay Vacations. The property had amazing views and was in a nice, quiet area, very conducive to a relaxing vacation. It was clean, well-stocked and comfortable - we spent a lot of time enjoying the views from the deck, kayaking from nearby George Mitchell Park and driving around the area. It was very humid during our stay, so we were very happy to have A/C!The MaineStay team was very informative and super responsive, making sure we had all of the necessary info to fully enjoy our stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at Bay Vista was perfect! The views were amazing, sunsets included! It was great to be able to walk the beach at low tide and swim at high tide. The home was very clean and comfortable, loved all the windows, and had everything we needed. The location was great, various areas to explore locally, and convenient to have Brunswick close by. The management team was great with providing us all necessary info, and always quick to respond if we had questions. We look forward to staying here again- thank you!!
I had a wonderful stay. The views of the ocean were incredible. Comfortable sleeping quarters and a great view. The deck had a beautiful sunset. Enjoyed watching the boats go back and forth. Very happy with the whole place.
Beautiful views of Middle Bay. Mornings watching the lobster boats and evenings watching the sunsets, all while listening to the sea gulls discuss who's getting the day's findings. Compliment this taste of Maine with a fresh and brightly remodeled cottage, and you can't go wrong staying here if you're looking to experience everything Maine coast has to offer.
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at Bay Vista in Harpswell Maine this past week. The house was right on the water, with a great porch, awesome views, the best sunsets ever! It was very comfortable for my husband and I and we could have accommodated another 4 people easily. The owners provided any item you might need in a kitchen and we were lacking for nothing to cook every night! The house was very clean, in very good condition with no real complaints at all. We would recommend this property anytime and would surely do it again another time.
We spent three nights at Bay Vista and had a fantastic time. The house has everything you need and was a very comfortable place to wake up and come home to after exploring the area during the days. You can't beat the gorgeous views of the water from the master bedroom and living room. The amenities were all in working order and everything was nice and clean. The nearby SchoolHouse Cafe deserves special mention and immediately became our favorite way to start our days - delicious coffee and breakfast. Each day started there, included a couple of beautiful hikes (they are everywhere and well marked), walks along coves and beaches, and delicious dinners in the Harpswell area or Brunswick (loved El Camino). We highly recommend Bay Vista. Hope to get back there someday...
This is the second time we have stayed in Bay Vista. When we arrived the house was clean and well stocked with toiletries and the basics for cooking. Everything worked well and it was very comfortable for 5 adults and 2 children. Nice deck over looking the bay with a big gas grill. We would recommend this property highly. Places to eat...Five Islands, The Dolphin, Schoolhouse Café, Erica's, and for dessert Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick. Things to do...Portland Seadogs baseball, a schooner sail out of Portland, hiking, kayaking, and driving around visiting the small towns and lighthouses. There is also a bike ride in Portland of lighthouses which we heard about. And watching the sunset over the islands across the bay.
Cottage is nicely updated and appointed.
In fact, I just recommended Bay Vista to my brother for his upcoming Maine trip. As the other reviewers note, the view is second to none - whether sitting on the deck or looking out from any of the many bay-facing windows in the house. We were often out and about exploring the area from Harpswell to Portland, but Bay Vista was a lovely gathering spot for our family. We have stayed in other rentals over the years and after we arrive we realize that the online pictures were clearly outdated; however, Bay Vista looks just like it does in the photos. The house has updates throughout, including new appliances, fixtures, and flooring; yet, the updates don't take away and even enhance the Maine cottage feel that we were hoping for on our trip.
Thanks for a wonderful stay in your serene vacation home. My family and I enjoyed visiting many of the local spots you suggested like the Dolphin Restaurant and getting take out from Erica's Seafood in Harpswell. Brunswick and Bath were fun to explore, we like the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath. We used the house as a base for great day trips to Portland, biking Peaks Island, hiking at Wolf's Neck Woods State Park & Camden Hills State Park. My teens enjoyed shopping in Freeport. The house was clean and comfortable. My in laws loved the privacy of the basement bedroom. The view from the master was so beautiful my husband and I didn't want to get out of bed each morning. We are returning to your home this summer, Maine in May is not crowded which we enjoyed, this year we want to experience the summer season in Maine. Can't wait to return.
