Bartlett, Texas
The Bartlett National Bank now boasts 2 bedrooms in the old banker office space, a kitchen in what was the old teller station with the teller walls still in tact. The Bank Managers office is now your study and contains letters originally written in that very office in the early 1920's. The old bank vaults serve as a pantry and wine cellar. The soaring ceilings are ornate and showcase the true beauty of this historic building. You'll be able to gaze at the detail while resting on the sleeper sofa in the bank lobby turned living room.
The Bartlett National Bank is a one of a kind stay in the most photographed town in Texas! We can't wait to welcome you! And when its time to go, you won't get a list of 'chores'. We know you are on vacation! We do hope folks will take great care of our historic property, and when you leave our cleaning crew will make it sparkle for the next guest!
You will have the entire unit. Prior to check in you will receive a secure door code that will only be available for your stay. No other guest will have had your code. There are 2 front doors. The door with the entry code is the door that faces Clark Street (and is lit by the street lamp). Immediately inside to the right is a light switch. The wifi password will be sent to you along with your key code. Park anywhere on Clark or Evie Streets.
In the unit we have created a guest manual and this is in the kitchen. We also put together a book to tell you all about the bank and what fun stories we have learned about it from our renovation and talks with the sweet neighbors in Bartlett.
We love this old Bank! We've spent long hard hours restoring it and we hope you love it as much as we do!
Thanks for being our guest,
Rick and Jennifer
This is a historic town with glimpses of history at every turn. The murals are a fun reason to get out and walk the streets of downtown Bartlett. There are quaint places to eat and some fun shops to explore.
Remember everything is bigger in Texas! Even the bugs! Despite regular pest control services there are occasional bugs in Texas that can’t be helped. Old buildings are prone to have the occasional spider and seasonally in Texas we see crickets.
Please be aware that the interior staircase is historic and is only 24" wide. There is one bedroom and full bath downstairs, the second bedroom and bath are upstairs along with a twin bed in the old Bank manager's office in an open loft-like space. There are no doors on the upstairs bedroom spaces - so bring your full jammies! There is also a sofa bed in the living room (making 2 beds available on the lower level).
We ask guests not to use any candles or fires and not to hang or affix anything to the walls. This is a historic building and we want to preserve it for many generations to come! Thank you for understanding.
From 95, Turn into Bartlett on Clark Street and the Bank is on the corner of East Clark and Evie Streets. Easy access from Temple/Belton, Georgetown, I-35, Austin.

My recent 3 day visit at Bartlett National Bank was somewhat disappointing. There was no warning about cell phone coverage in this area. I lost complete coverage! It was storming on the day of arrival so I accidentally entered the code on the Wrong Door. It was very scary and frustrating not being able to access my email for check in access details. TMobile/AT&T have poor coverage here until you get Falcon Wifi access once inside the Bank. There is no garbage disposal or microwave in the kitchen. Coasters would be very useful. Upstairs bathroom has no towel hooks, no toilet paper holder, and the toilet seat shifts to the side when you sit on it! The shower has an ongoing leak under the wall. There are no luggage racks in the rooms, no hair dryer, and no iron. It would be very helpful for bedrooms to have a nightstand on both sides. The tenant across the street on the 2nd floor can most likely see inside thru the front door top window and also from above the half curtain especially at night. Our visit would have been more enjoyable if most of these things were provided or fixed properly. It’s very disappointing that these same issues were documented by another guest in January and Still Have NOT been corrected.
Love the history provided
The bank is a unique place to stay. We loved it! The place was very clean. The host was very responsive to any questions. Only upgrades I’d suggest is provide a microwave and better beds. But overall 5 *****
The bank building is awesome! Wonderfully done and extremely comfortable. Highly recommend
Old building full of rich history.
Property is a renovated historic bank with lots of interesting artifacts keeping with the time period. Beautiful architectural details have been preserved. Be aware before you go that there is basically nothing to do in Bartlett except enjoy the history of the area. It is such an easy drive to Georgetown, Salado, and Temple that staying in a virtual ghost town was not an issue, in fact we found it rather charming.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Bartlett National Bank. I’m a lifetime lover of old buildings and this was such an amazing opportunity. I spent the weekend searching out the smallest details of the craftsmanship and beauty of this historic building. The rental was well appointed for our needs. The interior was simply lovely. The split air conditioning units had no problem keeping up on 100 degree Texas June days. Outside, there is a table and chairs. Perfect for soaking up the peaceful and mostly abandoned Main Street. I thoroughly enjoyed waving back at locals as they drove by. The slow pace was a welcome getaway from daily life. The first bit of traffic we experienced upon driving home felt like I was being pulled out of another time ?. We’ll be back. The host was so easy to communicate with and very helpful. We joined her and a few others for an evening walking tour of the town. Jennifer was a wealth of knowledge about the town’s history and even included a couple of ghost stories when I mentioned I was interested. Her passion for this bank and this town is contagious!
What a great historic place! Loved it!! enjoyed the historic feel and turn of the century architecture and craftsmanship! Would visit there again…
I stumbled on to this property located midway between our home and where our friends live and had to stay here. My husband is a banker and I couldn’t think of a better way to surprise the group on April 1st! We loved reading about all of the original features and seeing all of the love and hard work that went into this quaint, comfy place to land for the weekend. The TV was never touched… the walls soaked up our laughter and we left with happy hearts and memories that will never leave us. We have stayed in homes on Civil War battlegrounds, ocean front homes with the sound of waves lulling us to sleep and beautiful mountain cabins…. But, THIS little bank in Bartlett is my favorite! Put this place on your list of places to stay!
We enjoyed our stay in this unique space full of history. Jennifer was responsive and flexible. We would love to stay here again in the future.
We had a great time. The bank is great unique place to stay. Our host was awesome.
