Barbs Bach

Unfortunately, they use Vrbo for bookings and the communication is awful. The reservation link was broken and we got no info about how to access the property. The place clearly hadn’t been cleaned well, as there was rubbish in the bins and stuff left from prior tenants. Also, the ad didn’t state it was in a trailer park or even what the unit number was. We had to find it using the photo only! I certainly would not recommend the unit.

Thank you Barbara! The accomodation was compact & nicely presented. It had everything we needed. It was secure & safe with the gated entry & exit. The front covered deck a lovely space to enjoy outdoor dining & the perfect spot for my Mum to read her book. The beds were comfy & the highlight was the community heated pool.

Barb was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, always available if we had any questions or needs. The pool was definitely the highlight, such an absolute pleasure to have a swim in! Barb's hospitality is second to none! Thanks Barb for such being such a wonderful hostess!!

Barbs is a well kept property that suits two or four for short stay. Its a 7-10 min walk to shopping, entertainment and a drive to reach the beach. Being in a locked community it is quiet and feels safe. Barb was easy to deal with and helpful.The pool is a good temp for out of season swims.

Great mini break spot for myself and two teens. Two bedrooms with comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Covered outdoor area was great for dining outside. Bonus extra is the heated pool which the teens loved. This property is a short walk to the Village for groceries, takeaways or a bit further to the Tavern for dinner. Bennetts chocolate factory is always on our go to list when visiting Mangawhai...only 6 mins walk. Overall this is a great property and situated at the back of the Mangawhai Park so quite peaceful.

Had a lovely stay at Barb's Batch. Nice and comfortable for my family of 4. Kids loved the pool. Bennetts, Mangawhai Domain and Mangawhai Village Shops all within walking distance and a short drive to the newly opened New World Supermarket. As this place is situated in a little park of houses its very safe and family friendly. Really enjoyed our stay and Barb is a fantastic host. Thanks for our stay in Magical Mangawhai we will be back!

Kids absolutely loved the pool, area in the park is so well looked after, also friendly neighbours. We’ll definitely be back next year :) Barb even brought the toy my son forgot at the bach back to Auckland , thank you so much again!

A clean and tidy bach. The heated swimming pool was great. Walking distance very close to the shops, cafes and attractions. Short drive to the lovely beach and walking tracks there.

From the start, communication with Barb was super speedy. She was responsive to any questions we had. The bach was just as advertised and just what we were looking for. The kitchen was very well equipped. Modern appliances. We appreciated the dishwasher. Clothes storage was good. The bed was very comfortable. The pool was great. The covered deck was appreciated because of the rain we had but also as protection from the sun. The location was good, ten minutes or less to restaurants, groceries, and anything else we might have needed. While we were there, Bard did check in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The bach is located in a condo community and the other owners were friendly and helpful in the five weeks we were there. It's a very relaxing, quiet atmosphere. The location of Barb's bach is well located to allow people who want to explore the North Island. We would highly recommend Barb's bach.

We enjoyed Mangawhai very much, but will not book this property again. I did not appreciate how I was treated by the host at the end of our stay. Unacceptable.

Barb's batch was exactly as described - clean and comfortable with all the facilities you like to have access to while you re away and close to Mangawhai Village.... Barb was also a very welcoming hostess Had a great time !!

Hi. We had a great stay, communication with host was excellent and the property was as described with everything we needed. Use of the shared pool was a bonus. Easy walking distance to village and quick drive to the surf beach.

Nice clean bach, everything worked, comfortable, quiet neighbourhood, excellent pool. Bach was water tight and secure even during tornado on 26th Jan. Highly recommended. Barb is a very pleasant host.

Lovely little cabin for a short stay in Mangawhai. Great communication from the host. Very reasonsbly priced with excellent access to the village. 10/10 would stay again.

Great little cosy bach for our little family, good location had pretty much everything you need , the pool was enjoyed by all of us and even though shared wasn't very busy

Well equipped small house with close neighbours, but it was incredibly quiet. Close to cafe and 4 square. There was a local power cut when we arrived and Barb kindly bought a large container of water for our use.

An ideally located cosy cottage in an enclave of similar cottages - in the heart of Mangawhai village - suited perfectly our get away needs close to family that couldn’t accommodate us on their property!Occupants of other cottages were very respectful - and despite the cottage to cottage close proximity, noise was not an issue - all very peaceful - helped by Barb’s Cottage being at the rear of the enclave. Will stay again!

We had a lovely stay at Barbs bach, loved the facilities, cute and comfy with everything we needed. Enjoyed a swim in the pool too and it was a great location close to cafe and shops.

We had a great stay , Barb was very helpful in assisting with left behind items ! Good location , a nice walk to the Tavern and cafe . Picnic Bay was beautiful and we enjoyed our morning swims. Pool was nice for the evenings too !

Classic kiwi bach style had all the amenities we needed. Convenient and very clean and tidy . Would stay here again.

It's a very comfortable bach for a Mangawhai stay. The bonus is the great heated pool and pleasant garden area adjacent to it to relax in. It's an easy walk to the village and all the offerings there.
