Olympia, Washington
The Bamboo Hideaway is a traveler's oasis in Olympia’s Northeast neighborhood. The Hideaway is one half of a cozy duplex. With on site parking, the home is tucked into an exotic collection of living bamboo and treasures gathered from the beaches and forests around Western Washington. Almost 1 mile north of downtown, within easy walking distance to local neighborhood bakery and parks the Bungalow is a tranquil spot to explore Olympia and the surrounding area.
Booked my stat over thanksgiving for the wrong days and didn’t use the property Requested vrbo for a refund.
We just stayed for 2 weeks in the Bamboo Hideaway. Everything was as shown in the photos and communications with the host was great. The location is handy for downtown access, a great park and of course, the bakery. I am not giving it full marks for two reasons: one is the master bedroom’s bed - we could not sleep on it as a couple, especially with one of us smaller than the other. We rolled to the centre and the bed frame was very noisy! The twin beds in the other bedroom were very comfy. We do tend to like firm beds. Also, though the beds and bathroom was clean, as we were there for an extended stay, we came to notice there had not been a deeper clean. All in all though, we thought the unit was good value, good location and the host communication great.
The property was very relaxing for our visit to Olympia to see family. The neighborhood was very quiet, and we especially appreciated the ample off-street parking. Communication with the property manager was very fast and helpful, and we enjoyed meeting and visiting with the owners who have done an amazing job with the yard to make it a secluded oasis.
The Bamboo cottage is serene and ultra clean. Ellen, our host was so attentive upon our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. Everything! Great neighborhood. And you gotta love the giant redwood in the yard. A zen experience?
Easy come and go access. Charming place
What a beautiful and tranquil retreat! You will not be disappointed in your time spent at this relaxing hideaway. Wishing we had more time in Olympia so that we could have spent more time together in Ellen’s home.
The home was clean, neat and very cozy. I stayed there with my kids and we hung out, watched movies and grilled. It was a really good time.
Cozy accommodations in a great location, beautifully decorated inside and out; Clean, well stocked, quiet and very comfortable. Would stay again.
Nice 2 bedroom unit tucked away in a quiet neighborhood close to downtown Olympia, and just a few blocks from a great bakery. We had a great stay, and will book again for future stays in Olympia.
Renting this property was a breeze.
Wonderful location with excellent amenities. It was particularly hot during our stay and the owners went through great lengths to ensure there was a working AC unit. Beautiful and quiet neighborhood and excellent host! Definitely would stay here again next time werw in town.
This was a perfect place for me to have a special weekend with my niece and nephew (ages 11 and 13). It was great to have a full kitchen with little extras and fun to have a little outside patio. We all enjoyed the cool woodwork and decorations. We day-tripped to Ocean Shores and toured around Olympia, including the capital. It was a home away from home in a quiet neighborhood close to the amazing Squaxin Park.
This is one of a few duplexes, I believe with the same name. We had stayed in a 1 bedroom last year but this 2 bedroom is larger, which was more comfortable for our family (son daughter in law and one year old) to visit during our stay. It was easy to communicate with Ellen who is an excellent host. The place is clean and nicely decorated, the kitchen well stocked. It is on a quiet street within walking distance to a bakery. Compared with other VRBO's, the cost was very reasonable. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
Super cute place. Very friendly neighborhood. Was perfect for a staycation.
Quiet, Safe neighborhood. Close to downtown. Had everything I needed. Just brought my food. Very cozy.
It is a unique place. Not exactly what I had hoped for, but it really wasn't the fault of the property.
We love this cute place. Very clean with plenty of amenities. Located in a quiet neighborhood, this property is perfect for someone who wants to relax in peace in quiet, yet be close to so many activities. We used this location as a jumping off point to so many things, Mt. Rainier, Olympic National Park and Seattle. I loved that is was such a great place to relax and unwind between trips.
Beds were not very comfortable. However, the price was very reasonable.
The home was comfy and cozy and very convenient to waterfront and I-5. The home matches description and we enjoyed our stay.
