Dolores, Colorado
Quiet spacious home nestled in the pines. We are local artists and the home is filled with unusual captivating artwork. Open floor plan to enjoy each others company upstairs while cooking in our fully stocked kitchen or lounging in the great room. Separate living space in the downstairs with gallery lighting for relaxing, games, painting, etc.. 17 acres with 3 acres fenced around the house to let your dogs play while you enjoy the sweeping decks. also a small fenced yard off the back deck for evenings and smaller dogs. We are 1mile from boggy draw trail head, 2 from town , restaurants, brewery and grocery. A short drive from Mesa Verde National Monument, Mc Phee reservoir, Sand Canyon, Canyon of the Ancients, Phil's World, Durango, Telluride, Cortez, Moab. Plenty of room to park your toys! bring your bikes, boats, side by sides, motorcycles, and leave your worries at home! We may be working in our art studio (separate building at the back of the property) or working in the garden. But more often than not we will be traveling during your stay.
The house was setup great and close to town but far enough for nice privacy and quietness! We actually were able to have a white Christmas! The house was very clean and kept up and there is a ton of space for the entire family! We had no issues the entire time we were there and enjoyed the entire stay. Hosts were available for any questions or issues! An item people may want to know is the house is ran off storage tank water so they ask to be mindful of water use, not an issue for us but a good fact to know. All in All we loved the stay and we would love a return trip when time allows!
Outstanding place in Dolores. Lots of room both in and out doors. Dogs loved it. Awesome breezes all day and night. Comfortable furniture and beds. The hosts were great and we enjoyed talking with them. Very responsive to anything we needed (which wasn't much). Mountain biking was great. Experienced the farmers market on Wednesday evenings. Loved it!
This home was absolutely gorgeous. It was clean, well stocked, has so much to offer. The location is easily accessible to Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, Four Corners. Hiking, beautiful area. The hosts are friendly and helpful. We took nightly walks with kids and dogs. Very comfortable. Would definitely return.
The home was beautiful. We had 5 adults & 4 kids (ages 3, 5, 6, & 7) in our group. The home is beautiful, very clean with plenty of room for our large group. The property was well maintained & fenced and very private. Troy & Kelly are great hosts and very accommodating to all our needs. The location was perfect and I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy nature in Colorado at it's best.
First of all, the property is gorgeous and the owners are very dog friendly. The location is outside the town but it's still close by to pick up tacos when you have a craving. Big dogs or little dogs will love their stay here as well. The home is decorated with the owners original art throughout. The furnishings are very comfortable and pleasing. The kitchen really has everything you will need to prepare meals and cocktails. There is a dual coffee pot that makes the Keurig cups or a pot of coffee. Also an espresso machine is available if that's preferred. We placed a pick up order on line for food supplies at Walmart in Cortez, CO and picked that up on the way in. We also shopped at City Market in Cortez for fill ins during the week. We only used one floor of the house but the ground floor makes it a perfect house for extended family or another family to join in on the fun. We took day trips daily and used the house as a home base. It was a great place to come home to at night to relax after a day filled with exploring and hiking. We managed to hit 4 National Parks in a week, Mesa Verde, Black Canyon, Arches and Canyonlands. We visited the Four Corners Monument and took a trip up from Durango to Silverton which was breathtaking. Don't hesitate to book this lovely home. It's just perfect!
We spent Christmas and New Years at this house and with our family, 6 adults and 3 kids (12, 6 and 4 months). The house is a great set up for a larger group, as the kitchen is large with lots of storage and the downstairs is has 2 bedrooms, living area and bath. The location is great, close to town that has a few good restaurants and a grocery, liquor store, or you can go to Durango or Telluride in an hour or less. The San Juan National Forest is also just about 1 mile from the house with lots of other access and trails near by. We also went to Moab for the day, which was just about 1.5 hours from the house and an absolutely beautiful drive, as was the drive from the house to Telluride. Hosts were also great and quick to reply to any questions. If you are looking for a house in a great location to many things and not in the touristy CO areas, look no further! We will be back for sure!
We were looking for a getaway with our dogs, and I can't say enough amazing things about this property. Exactly as described and still beyond our expectations. On top of it all, having a 3-acre area for our pups to enjoy meant the world to us (and them). Whether we come back for another anniversary trip, or with family and friends, I know we will love every minute. Highly recommend.
The property was great - the owners were very nice and easy to get a hold of. They were very accepting of our two dogs we brought and all the kids. I would highly recommend this place if you want something a little outside of town.
