We had a wonderful stay! The house was just perfect and more than big enough for my family of five. I felt like the house was bigger and better than the photos show. We stayed during Christmas and the house was decorated beautifully with a tree and Christmas decor. The property is gorgeous and the views are spectacular. There is plenty to do around the house to keep busy and the house is SO well stocked! They seriously thought of everything and there was nothing that we needed, that wasn’t there. The location was perfect for us. We traveled to Asheville, Biltmore, Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Mars Hill & Chimney Rock…..nowhere seemed far. Walker (the neighbor’s dog) came to visit twice……once when we arrived and again on Christmas morning. What a treat! He is just the sweetest and my boys were so excited to see him each time. Sharon was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
The house was wonderful, and the host was overly helpful in finding family friendly activities and dining for us over the holiday. If we don't change locations, we will be back next year!
A great house in a nice quiet location. We especially appreciated the fenced run for our dog.
I (and a friend) have rented this property on several occasions over the years. It is the only rental we have returned to! The home is in excellent condition. Property owner is easy to work with. Lots to do in the area—antiquing, hiking, chasing waterfalls, visiting apple orchards, wineries, breweries or just sitting on the back deck enjoying the peaceful view. Looking forward to my next visit!
Hi Sharon! We enjoyed staying at your Beautiful home on 10/16-10/22/23 Thank you for the welcome gift & all the amenities available for us! Walker only came to visit once! So we left a bag of dog treats for future quests to give him. loved that there were seasonings available for cooking. ❤️ Our family loved the Mountain View’s/Fire pit/pool table & kitchen well equipped! Oh! I regret that I didn’t get time to sign the guest book! We loved the area hope to return again in the near future. Thank you The Werneke’s
My family and I stayed for 3 weeks and loved every second. The home had everything we needed and felt like a second home by the end of our visit. We loved playing games with our boys (7 and 9), who discovered a love for both the Game of Life and Scattegories during our stay. We explored neighboring towns and visited Asheville most days. We hiked all over the area from Dupont National Forest to Chimney Rock to the Pisgah National Forest and the Great Smokies. The home was the perfect launching spot. Sunset views were the best, and our dog loved napping outside and playing with Walker. We saw deer, bunnies, and turkeys. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
House and grounds were wonderful. Clean , all and well taken care of. Back gazebo was a wonderful place to sit and watch the sunrise and sunset. You have everything in the home you could possibly need. We would sit out on the porch and Walter from down the street would come up and visit Walter is a dog he's cute and friendly you tell him to go home and he goes home. It's out in the mountains you can go into Asheville and Waverly in just a short time. The atmosphere was peaceful and calm we never had a problem with the Wi-Fi it was always in service. They have a campfire where you can do s'mores or a grill where you can just sit outside and Grill and relax The home is stock with plenty of family board games and a. Pool table. My daughters all agree this would be a romantic place to get away to. But also a family place. With deer and turkeys coming in the yard to visit cant miss them. We gave this place a five stars if we could give it more we would we stayed at plenty of rentals but this one was beyond amazing you won't go wrong staying here the owners were wonderful to deal with if you contacted them they answered right away. If you're looking for a romantic giveaway or just a family check out this house I promise you you won't regret it
This is the ideal location for a family vacation. The views are amazing. The home is spacious, but cozy. We found the owners and property managers to be genuinely concerned with us having the best stay! I would recommend this location to all friends and family. We hope to have the opportunity to visit again.
My parents, my 4yr old and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful and relaxing getaway. The place was very clean and spacious. It had everything we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and the scenery was Amazing. Watching the sunrise over the mountains in the distance was breathtaking. We got up every morning to look out over the balcony for the deer and turkeys in the nearby fields. On our rainy day we enjoyed the games that were provided in the downstairs game room. My son loved the neighbor's golden retriever, Walker so much that we had to go buy him some dog treats and a toy. The neighbor was so sweet and gracious enough to let my 4yr old play with Walker. I can't say enough about this gorgeous home and the mountain it's on. The owners were very easy to get ahold of and answer any questions we had. There is no price tag that could be put on the memories we made here this past week. We definitly want to stay here again.
Vrbo made it easy to book. It was absolutely beautiful there. Pleased with our accommodations.
Our family takes a week vacation each summer in Asheville and have been trying out each area. This area / portion of Asheville was not our favorite just based on lack of hiking trails and distance from downtown, but this house is gorgeous and we greatly enjoyed it. Everything was in order, clean, and well-stocked. The fire pit was a wonderful evening under the stars for two evenings and many great pool matches within our family (pool table is a Brunswick and in impeccable shape, btw). Great experience for our family also seeing wild turkeys and deer on our property! A wonderful relaxing time for all.
Flying Fish Hill is even better than the pictures and description make it out to be. It exceeded all expectations. The owners have thought of and provided all the extras, making this a truly comfortable home away from home. The kitchen is well stocked with high end appliances and cookware. Lots of comfy living space indoors and out to spend time together or quiet time for yourself. The views from this home are breathtaking - sunsets, sunrises, lightning bugs at dusk, rainbows and wildlife included. It’s worth the drive to get to Asheville and surrounding areas for sightseeing. Book it now. You won’t be sorry!
We spent a week with our adult children and dog. Loved the house. There is always a shady porch to sit on. It takes a while to get any where- but you won’t want to leave the property anyway!
Beautiful house . Very well maintained. Felt like a hotel stay! Peaceful retreat in the mountains.
This house, the views (including the decks), and the property (we loved the gazebo as well) was everything we hoped it would be and more. We loved hanging out inside and outside and had so much fun as a family. Very helpful owners and easy access instructions and great communication. We would love to visit again sometime!
Great place to stay if your looking for privacy and a spectacular view. The property was well maintained.
We had a wonderful stay at Flying Fish Hill. It is out there -- 20-30 minutes via winding roads to everything, but it's a lovely area and very peaceful. The sunrises from the back deck are exceptional. Plenty of room for the kids and dog to run around and lots of space in the house. There are lots of things in the kitchen that you can use so it's not bare. The only quirk was the upstairs bathroom is small and the shower was clogged, but the latter issue can obviously be fixed. The dog next door comes over and is indeed friendly -- and we had a couple sightings of the turkey who likes to come to the back yard. Overall, a peaceful retreat that was great for our family. Thank you!
