Stayed Sep 24, 2025The property is beautiful inside and out. Everything is well maintained. The room was spacious but very welcoming. The room was beautifully decorated. The outside property was so peaceful. There were several bird feeders that were quite active. We enjoyed just being outside relaxing. The night sky was gorgeous without all of the lighting that you find in the city. Unfortunately I lost a ring while staying here. They found my ring and are mailing it back to me, which I greatly appreciate. The hosts, Lori and John, were great. They were very accommodating. The room had a Keurig with an assortment of coffee and tea. There were also snacks provided. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and hated leaving. We highly recommend this property. It's just outside the gate to Sequoia National Park. There are markets and restaurants nearby. The accommodations are great. If we take a trip this way again, we will definitely stay in the Ash Mountain Suite.

Stayed Jun 7, 2025This property is excellent - the quality of finish and cleanliness is 5 star. It is a very convenient location for Sequoia National Park which was our main reason for visiting. We enjoyed the mountain views and watching the bird life from our terrace - very scenic. Our host Lori was very welcoming and communicative. We travelled from the UK so this was very helpful and appreciated. Great directions and local tips for the area. Highly recommended!

Stayed Oct 4, 2024The hosts' hospitality was heartwarming! Notes on the check-in process and trip preparation were well appreciated. The suite is new and beautifully furnished, and one could tell that they put in much thought in every corner of the suite and in making guests' stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The suite has everything we asked for and more. Would love to return to this property when we visit Sequoia National Park again!

Stayed Aug 26, 2024My husband and I both agree that these two are the most thoughtful hosts that we have every dealt with. They were communicative, provided great info on the area, provided snacks, two bottles of water, oatmeal, coffee, and tea. The suite was beautifully decorated and was clean. The suite had a wonderful AC unit and even a electric fireplace. One thing to note is that the mattress is very firm, so if you are side sleepers, make sure to be prepared. However, we would definitely stay here again!

Stayed Nov 7, 2025We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin in Sequoia! It was super clean, peaceful, and had so many thoughtful touches that made it feel cozy and homey. Lori and John were great hosts — really quick to respond and made everything super easy. The bed was super comfy, and we slept so well after our days exploring. The Wi-Fi was a little spotty at times, but honestly, it didn’t matter — it was nice to just disconnect and enjoy the quiet. Such a perfect little getaway spot!

Stayed Sep 27, 2025The Rose Retreat is a fantastic place to stay, wish I could give 100 stars. Everything is sparkling clean to the extreme, looked like we were the first guests. Everything in the unit matches the hosts pictures to a tee. Owners Lori and John are wonderful and helpful should you need anything. They provide many treats like gourmet nuts and snacks, coffee and more. The location on top of a hill provides majestic views of the Sierra Mountains and is less than a mile to the Park Gate. I have attached a pic of my wife relaxing on the picnic table overlooking the mountains. We can recommend this property without reservation. Love it!

Quiet location super close to the park entrance, and just a very short drive from Three Rivers. Everything was as described and Lori was a fantastic host providing plenty info about the property and area for us. Should we be back to Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks I’ve no doubt that we would stay here again!

Stayed Jun 16, 2025This a great place to stay if you're planning to visit Sequoia National Park. Stayed May 12, 2025The location was perfect, so close to the park. The place was very pretty both inside and out. The hosts were very helpful with things like restaurant recommendations and very clear directions to the address, which was great as the gps has no service there. We would definitely recommend staying there to visit both Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Stayed May 5, 2025The Ash Mountain Suite was exactly what my husband and I were looking for when planning our anniversary trip to Sequoia National Park.Tucked up in the trees off of the main road in town, we could hear the river and relax watching the wildlife move through the little meadow just bellow the suite.Takes less than 5 minutes to get to the park entrance if there isn’t any traffic, which can’t be beat unless you are staying inside the park itself. We loved it and definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a cute and cozy place to rest your body after a day in the park!

Stayed Feb 14, 2025My husband and I stayed at the Ash Mountain Suite over President's Day weekend. It was perfect.Communication with the host was easy. She would respond within minutes of me sending a message. The location is perfect, less than 2 miles from the park entrance. The room itself is charming. First, the place is spotless. Not a speck of dust anywhere. The bed is over the top comfortable. The electric fireplace is beautiful and puts out quite a bit of heat on its own. And, there are so many thoughtful little touches. The towels are super luxe. They leave plenty of coffee, tea, granola bars, oatmeal, chocolates, etc. I cannot say enough good things about this place or the hosts. We already can't wait to go back! Thanks Lori and John!

After a day exploring Sequoia National Park, it was the ideal place to relax and unwind.Lori was an exceptional host—she provided clear instructions, was incredibly responsive, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. From the heartwarming letter to the complimentary water and snacks, every detail made our stay extra special. We highly recommend staying here and would love to return in the future. Stayed Sep 24, 2024The bed is extremely firm. It’s the firmest bed I have ever slept on. If you sleep on your side like I do, take this under consideration. The listing also says that they have a washer/dryer but they don’t. As a vac home rental owner I don’t have any problem with making changes in my listing. It’s a wonderful newly built en suite duplex nicely decorated with basic hotel room amenities, microwave and very small fridge. Not much room for prepping meals. Eating out is a better option.

Stayed Aug 18, 2024This property is exactly what I was looking for when I decided to take my wife to see the Sequoias. I was lucky enough to have visited the park previously and when I started trying to plan our first vacation in way too long, I knew that I wanted to include the park at the start. The unit was exactly as advertised. I know you're probably thinking 'well it should be', and while I agree, I also travel for work almost 5 months out of the year and I can assure you that this is not always the case. The pictures you see are recent and the descriptions accurate, but they really don't do the place justice if for nothing else but being able to hear the river flow while watching the birds wake up The hosts were super helpful and communicated way better than I did or do. This made the process for getting to the property and checking in and out a breeze. They even sent a list of nearby places to eat, shop and explore that was truly invaluable. It made it seem like I had really planned every detail but all I did was book the room. Thanks for that! The room was very comfortable for the both of us, has everything that you could want and the location is probably the best in 3 Rivers. I would definitely recommend this place and especially the hosts to anyone looking to stay near SNP. Even though the wife suffers from a bit of altitude sickness when we get to higher elevations, she agreed to come back one day.
