Stayed May 15, 2025We had a great stay at the Cottage. We were in town for the Total Archery Challenge and staying in Oak Hill was so convenient. We walked to two restaurants for dinner and the was a coffee shop just a block away. An out standing bowling alley was only a few minutes drive. We also ate at a Mexican restaurant just north of town. The house was more than comfortable for three adults - loved the large beds and furniture. The larrge fenced-in yard was such a win for our dog who needs exercise. Plus, there is a dog park behind the house - just walk around the block to access. We appreciated the large supply of nice bath towels - we don’t usually have that in rentals. Communications with yhe owners was great and accessing the codes/keys for the house was a breeze.

Stayed Jul 31, 2025We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The thoughtful welcome treat on the table was such a kind touch from our hosts. This charming home was the perfect home-away-from-home for our family of two adults, one child, and our dog.The location was ideal-just 20 minutes from larger grocery stores, a variety of restaurants, and the iconic New River Gorge National Park near the bridge. We also loved being within walking distance of a smaller grocery store, a dog park, and a community park with a playground. The house was spotless, the kitchen was fully stocked, and the fenced-in backyard was perfect for our pup. It's an adorable, comfortable space, and we would be delighted to return someday.

Stayed Jun 15, 2025We very much enjoyed our stay here and hope to come again. The house was the perfect size for our family of four and two dogs. The utility of having a fully-fenced yard when traveling with pets cannot be overstated. House was convenient to all of our adventures along NRGNP, parking and check in were easy, and we were provided with everything needed for our stay - the hosts even left us some snacks to enjoy after our long drive to WV! Excellent property!

Stayed May 1, 2025Cute, little house. Well maintained and clean. Backyard was absolutely perfect for our fur babies with a nice back porch. One little glitch that was quickly fixed when we got there and the beds are not the most comfortable (I have slept on worse though), otherwise it was perfect for our weekend.

Stayed Apr 10, 2025I found this location because I needed something pet friendly and close access to the National Park. This did not disappoint. The home was a great location for our long weekend to the New River Gorge. The house was clean and equipped with what we needed. The fenced in backyard was wonderful but the back grass was high and overgrown. Would absolutely stay here again.

Stayed Mar 21, 2025My husband and I decided to book this house for my birthday trip to visit New River Gorge with our dogs. This house was perfect! It was very cozy, and stocked with everything we needed for cooking meals. Our dogs loved the big backyard and we both loved sitting on the porch after a long day of hiking. It's also very near to the grocery store, restaurants, and a coffee shop. It was a great stay, and we hope to be able to book it again in the future!

Stayed Sep 26, 2024The property was cute and cozy, but there was broken glass outside the front door. The rock sidewalk was unlevel and tricky. Although it was well stocked there wasn't any coffee. Wasps in the bedroom and a hornets nest on the back deck. It was quiet for being in town and people are friendly there. Thank you.

Stayed Aug 17, 2024We found A's cottage to be comfortable, spotless, and conveniently located. It was very quiet during our long-weekend stay, even with the windows open at night! We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck after an amazing meal at Ample Pizza in Hico. Thanks for the attention to detail and customer service, we will be back!

Stayed Jul 8, 2024While the house was well stocked and well appointed I experienced multiple issues that would prevent me from ever renting again…. 1. I had to reach out to the host for a lockbox code. Everything I received said I would receive this the day before check in. I was traveling in from a far and making plans and it was only after I reached out that they provided… 2. Something is going on with the house next door. It is sketchy and unkept with grass over a foot tall. One late afternoon a car from the county with Forencics parked out front of our house for a few hours. They waited on a pickup truck to take things out of the yard. It made my wife very uncomfortable that CSI had something going on there. 3. The last day we were there we came back to no power. After a few hours I reached out to the host to tell her of this and to provide some type of update. She got back and told me a car had hit a power pole. She then typed “ Sorry” that short response to me was curt and lacked any empathy. I would have been mortified that I had tenants with no power. No attempt was made to reach out to us after that. We ended up going to bed early not eating any dinner with temperatures over 80 in the house. Full disclosure the lack of attentiveness bothered me. We set the alarm for early the next day and so we could leave. I realize the outage was no fault of the host but they were not being inconvenienced nor were still financially getting all their monies for the rental. No credit was offered…..

Stayed Jun 21, 2024The property is located in a mixed area of single and multi-family residences, proximate to some commercial uses. It is convenient to the area's attractions, services, restaurants, etc. It was clean and well kept. It is an updated older building that emits a comfortable, homey feel. Living and sleeping space was more than ample. The kitchen was appropriately equipped. ALL GOOD.

Stayed Jun 18, 2024We stayed Tue-Fri and it was the perfect location to be able to do and see lots in NRG NP - hiking, paddleboarding and The Bridge Walk. Accommodations were just as expected and the neighborhood was quiet. We walked to Tom's Diner for a post-dinner ice cream treat twice during our stay and then along the White Oak Rail Trail for a leisurely walk back to the cottage. Highly recommend!
