Art Deco Gem

We had a good stay at Art Deco Gem, Property # 7896004. Generally the bach was clean, kitchen surfaces, bathroom, floors, bedding which was great. The oven and stove top were filthy, unusable. Freezer full of ice buildup. We couldn't get the tv or washing machine to go, washing machine starts to fill with water and then stops after about 30 seconds. TV started but then flicked off, we couldn't get it going again.We couldn't find any instructions for these in case we were doing something wrong, but think they weren't working at all. We didn't use the heat pump in the lounge as wasn't sure if it was safe to use. No sink plug for the bathroom handbasin, sink plug for laundry tub didnt fit/lockin, had to use one from kitchen sink when I did hand washing. Our son-in-law lent us a BBQ to cook on as the one provided was pretty old and rusty and there wasn't a gas bottle for it. We paid $609.00 for 4 nights, which seems a lot with what was provided. This is the first time we've ever given negative feedback about a bach and we do rent baches alot, but we feel it is justified.

Old on the outside but cozy and comfortable with exceptional location and views

Communication was quick and efficient, and being able to check in 1 hour earlier was much appreciated. The house was mostly clean, but could probably do with a good deep clean. The TV wasn't working and the double bed mattress of the bunk bed was very uncomfortable with springs very noticeable.

The houses has not been cleaned properly in a long time and when i made contact with the host she said that's odd and doesn't know what else to say. Didn't even apologize.The beds are super uncomfortable, they must be very old as well.

Great location. No frills, budget friendly. Borer is an issue with borer dust in the bedroom and kitchen/dining area

A kiwi bach, generous size , great views, cosy fire.

property is in prime spot & special artdeco house but view spoiled with shrubs not trimmed to enjoy the view or up the driveway,, garden very sad lots weeds, 2coffee sachets, no milk for x2guests 2night stay ?? over frozen fridge needed a clean,, range unusable plumbing problem with shower tray full of water almost overflow, lot dust under beds& on skirting boards, coffee cups had old stained rings inside ,armrests on chairs very sticky with ring marks , multi old spider webs every where, dirty windows not been cleaned for sometime, this house could have the wow factor , but just unloved, 1day,s work would make it sparkle,, we both have had guest accm over 40yrs ,, so know what is acceptable for paying guests , was a disappointing stay , our review is only to hopefully improve others stay, wanting to return, ,

Some place I could retire to

It was good value for the price & the Sea Views were beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. Overall a very good place.

The property was fantastic. The views were spectacular. Great value.

Great little house with everything we needed for a lovely short stay by the beach.

Clean and tidy always; Queen bed very comfortable and overall warm and a nice view
