Stayed Nov 22, 2025Helpful host, huge home, comfy beds, the most well-outfitted VRBO kitchen ever, dining room easily seats 10-or 12, quiet neighborhood near so much good stuff. If you love woodwork, you will be bowled over.

Stayed Oct 17, 2025Enormous home with space galore!Lots of places to sit and talk. It’s an old house with the expected charms and quirks, but very comfortable, both downstairs (living area) and upstairs (bedrooms).

Stayed Aug 8, 2025This stay was like an adventure -- stunning turn-of-the-20th century home with enough updates to feel fully 2025 functional. The interior architecture was an extra bonus -- lots to look at and admire. We lived in the Twin Cities a long time and never saw this lovely avenue tucked in on the top of Uptown. We took some nice walks, got groceries at the co-op just a couple blocks away, ate at Nightingale and Gai Noi, walked to the Sculpture Garden, and wondered why we ever left Minnesota.

Stayed May 23, 2025Perfect for our family reunion. Location and off-street parking were so convenient. The mansion has such grand proportions, and the oak interior was stunning. A grand piano, large dining area, and goofy table games were great features. We might suggest better lighting for the bedside areas, as well as safety matting in the porcelain tubs. If some wood polish and rags were available, I think some of the guests would enjoy polishing the stairwell and entry to its' original glory, a worthy labor of love for fine furnishings.

Stayed Oct 3, 2024Amazing first impression as we walked through the front door. We came to Mnpls for a family wedding at the MIA so the house accommodated 5 adults easily + several family members who were also in town who stopped by to gather. The location was perfect for groceries/beverages/dining and about a 20-minute drive from the airport. The deck off the master was terrific for morning coffee and sunshine. The house is over 100 years old and beautiful, but with a few quirky elements. Our host Gregory was very responsive with detailed instructions which is always appreciated.

Stayed Sep 19, 2024Beautiful ornate classic residence in a quiet neighborhood but close to everything. Chef’s kitchen with everything you need aside from ingredients. Gorgeous living room with piano, books, good light, and character. Comfortable beds! This cannot be overstated. I have stayed in enough places with a thin foam over plywood for the bed. This property has actual beds that practically demand oversleeping. Next time I find myself in Minneapolis, I’ll be back!

Stayed Jul 8, 2024This home is quite the showplace; the pictures show a beautiful, older and classic home, however, there are several issues that the owner needs to attend to. The house is in various stages of repair (unfinished/unpainted walls and ceilings, no access or egress to the side or back doors, only front door entry), the water pressure in the primary shower is almost non-existent, towels are marked and old/shabby, dust and dirt evident. Not worth the $3300+ that I spent for the week. The place looks in some parts to be virtually a construction site, particularly the front porch/entry. Not sure if this is a work in progress and we just happened to be guests who were helping to fund the normal upkeep, or if this is what the final state to be. It's a venerable older home in a beautiful neighborhood, true to the pictures. What's not clear in the pictures is that this older home needs a lot of work and the interior elements are in need of attention and care.
