This property is exactly where it should be, within walking distance of “all things Rouen”. Incredible location. The accommodations were perfect for our family. 3 bedrooms is hard to come by, and we found it. The kitchen is amazing which allowed us to take advantage of the gorgeous food markets in Rouen. It’s a casual property which made it very welcoming. We will stay there again.

We had a very pleasant stay in a nice appartment, located on a great spot. Excellent for exploring Rouen, many restaurants and shops nearby.

Outstanding position of the house directly in the oldtown. A great light in the houses. Charming cafes nearby. Lovely host who personally welcomed us warmly. Extremely family-friendly, great toys. Confortable beds. Extremely-well equipped and spacious kitchen. We can highly recommend the house.

I am one of four adults (two couples) who stayed at the Architect's House for six nights in mid-October. It is very well situated for a visit to Rouen and a quick bus (or taxi) ride from the train station. All of the city-center attractions including the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the Cathedral are within easy walking distance. There are multiple restaurants, bars, cafes, bakeries, groceries and shops in the immediate vicinity. For longer trips (like to the botanical garden) there are bus stops very nearby. There is a fine market just down the street on Sunday that includes plenty of seafood so you might plan for a home-made dinner on Sunday. Communication with the owner was excellent with messages/inquiries returned promptly. The main space of the house is very large and open with a good kitchen (the large non-stick frying pan needs to be replaced) on one end and a living room down a few steps on the other end. There are lots and lots of windows as well as a pleasant patio area with a table and two chairs outside. Because it is in something of an alley, the house is very quiet. Upstairs, the main bedroom is good and includes a full bath. There is also a bathroom with a toilet and shower in the hall (and another toilet and sink downstairs just off the main living space). The second sleeping area is a smaller bedroom with two open, yet separate, lofts above. We were not very comfortable climbing up and down the wooden ladder(s) leading to the loft(s) but the space is adequate even though the rather thin mattresses are directly on the floor. We are tall and perhaps those who are younger, more sprightly and smaller might not mind at all? We really enjoyed our visit to this beautiful city and were particularly pleased with the excellent and very friendly food/restaurant scene. The main room of the house is quite stunning (and includes a projector for night time movie watching) and the location is ideal. Still, I can only tepidly but not enthusiastically recommend the property (as currently configured) for four adults because of the loft ladders and beds. Perhaps the owner might consider an option for a different configuration to better accommodate four (or more as there is plenty of space) adults in the future . . . .

The property was in a perfect location; on a quiet alley, but right in the middle of the old city and steps from cafes. The hostess couldn't have been more helpful with answering questions and providing tips. She always replied within minutes. The flat is full of toys, my kids loved it!
