Apple House ~ Farm Stay ~ Durango CO

Beautiful farm environment! Horses, chickens, donkeys! Great vistas of La Plata mountains! Quite, relaxing but very close to Durango town and all the restaurants, and activities there.The farming family was so nice, easy to get along with and very accommodating! This is the third time I have stayed at their properties and I have to say that I would never stay anywhere else in this area.

Bad communication with the manager... wrong key for the apartment... No internet... rats on the closet and the manager just show up in the last day just to tell me please don't put a bad review he never fix the internet and gave me the correct after 2 days

We wanted to be a few miles out. Very quiet spot but very accessible to Durango. Found every thing we needed in the kitchen. The Frame tv added a nice touch in living space. Bed was very comfortable. Owner was very on top of all communication. I am already missing Durango!

Great location just outside of Durango on a beautiful Apple Orchard .

The directions to the property were a little off; road had been renamed and sign not very obvious. The landscaping looked over grown and unkempt; a lot of weeds. A foot from outside the front doors were about three dozen dead worm type of bugs. The Apple house was spacious and dog friendly, and had cookery and dishes the only pluses. The place was not very clean, dead bugs near the french doors inside, mouse droppings in the kitchen and bathroom, the rug in the living room needed vacuuming, the tile floor with debris, pubic hair in the shower, dingy bath towels, dirty throw pillows on the day bed sofa. The last night, I found a dead mouse in a mouse trap under the kitchen sink. I called the host/owner to inform. She responded after we checked out by vrbo messaging; she was glad to hear that the mouse was finally caught. Apparently, they do not believe in pesticides for safety of animals, apologized that I saw the mouse.

The property was great! It was very spacious and our Boston Terrier, Maggie, enjoyed being able to run around the property without always being on leash. Owners were very responsive to our needs and it was very clean. We did have a bit of a mouse problem, but it wasn't a defining issue. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

What an amazing weekend! Holly and her family are fantastic hosts the house is soooo cute and comfortable we definitely want to come back!

Perfect does not describe this place enough. Only 15 minutes from Durango with the most breath taking views you will ever see! Holly checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The views were to die for!! I will cherish the memories we made there. ??

This is a beautiful place to stay. It is comfortable and clean. You can enjoy the sound of meadow larks. We really enjoyed it.

Apple house was a great place to stay for country quiet, dark skies, yet close to Durango. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very well supplied with amenities. Owner was quickly responsive to any questions we had. Would recommend to others and we hope to come again.
