Stayed Jun 28, 2025The island of Elba is fantastic; the resort itself is well-designed, with great, clean pools, good bars, and a charming restaurant. Communication with the owner was OK; we even got a code for the ferry. The apartment was clean, but showing its age. The furniture in the living room was old, the sofa was worn out, and you're only supposed to use it with a towel or blanket you bring with you (which is probably why there's no photo of the living room?). The beds in the children's rooms are very soft, so if you weigh over 40 kg, you'll get back pain, and the pillows are very hard. The double bed was OK. There's no TV, no microwave, no hairdryer, and no toaster (although all of this is mentioned in the description). Then, three weeks before our stay, the dishwasher broke, and there was no replacement by the time we arrived. Last but not least, there's no air conditioning, which is a real shame when it's over 30C, especially since you can't cross-ventilate, and the ground-floor location means you can't leave the windows open all night. Furthermore, the beautiful purple flowering bush on the terrace (see first photo oft he description) is no longer there; there are only flower boxes and a small, dry lawn. It's a shame that these little things, taken together, degrade the apartment so much. We'd be happy to come back to Elba, but we'll rent somewhere else.
