This is our second year staying here and we love it. Perfect location, beautiful space.

We had a great stay! This unit is really comfortable and very well appointed. It’s an easy walk to downtown across the suspension bridge, immediately adjacent to the property. We learned to appreciate heated floors on cold mornings. We are looking forward to going back.

Parking was very easy. Interior was beautiful. Loved sitting out on the deck overlooking the animus river.

The location is fabulous! We loved the close proximity to the river trail and the downtown restaurants. While in the property, we spent most of our time on the back deck, which everyone enjoyed. The upstairs bedroom and bath are spacious. Two bedrooms downstairs are small but adequate. The property was very well stocked. The owners live next door and are very helpful.Only a couple of problems: there’s a note on the sliding door to the back deck warning that the door locks from inside. It’s dimly lit inside and if the latch is in the locked position, the door will still open easily—no tugging. But if you close it behind you, you’re locked out. This really should be fixed. The caution is misleading. After we were locked out and the owner rescued us, it became a running joke when the rest of our party arrived.A minor problem was that the dinner plates are too big to fit in the dishwasher. We used salad plates all 10 days rather than hand wash the big plates. Also, if you are sensitive to dust, be advised there are a lot of dust magnets: abundant decorative items, particularly on the living room shelves, artificial plants, throw rugs, honeycomb shades, shag carpet, and old furniture. However, the decor is interesting and mountain themed contributing to a fun vacation atmosphere. The owners put together a book with restaurants listed and reviewed that we found very helpful. Both bathrooms had a large supply of nice towels.

Wonderful stay! Great location across the river and walking distance to town. Easy drive to our favorite hiking and fishing. House is amazing with great patio spaces. Hosts are next door, friendly and helpful at navigating local events. Would love to return.

Loved our time at the Animas Basecamp. The house is so comfy for three couples. We enjoyed the two outdoor spaces and the sprawling great room. We played games watched sports and cooked together. Parking was sufficient for 4 cars and we were able to have our family join for a post graduation toast. Loved the proximity to downtown just over the walking bridge. It was just a perfect spot. We’d highly recommend staying here.

Great all the way around!

We were in Durango for a family wedding. The Groomsmen used this home to get ready for the big day. The photos on the porch were AWESOME. This plays was a true Gem!!!

The most wonderful place to stay in Durango. The indoor and outdoor spaces were perfect and the place was so thoroughly stocked with everything you could possibly need. Theresa was a lovely host and helped make this a very special family trip!

Came into town for a wedding and had some time to ourselves. Went fly fishing, played golf and walked into town easily for meals when not having a good time at the wedding

Doug and Teresa’s property was gorgeous. We loved the location right on the river. We also enjoyed the porch and deck. Well stocked kitchen, and we appreciated the coffee bar! Thanks for a great stay!

This was by far the best VRBO we've stayed at! Listing was completely accurate, location was fantastic! The outdoor space made this stay so lovely and special for our family! It didn't feel like a rental but more like home away from home. Lots of amenities and everything we needed. Property owner was super kind and responsive when we contacted them...definitely will be back!

Great condo located on the Animas river! Fit our needs perfectly. Right next to pedestrian bridge that crosses Animas river and one block from Main St. First trip to Durango and condo was a great place to relax in the evening after long day of activities.

We chose this property for a family reunion. One couple stayed at the Strater and walked over each day. This is one of our best ever VRBO's. So well stocked. Incredible location. Never used the car during a five day stay, and loved the walks over the river into town. Hosts are wonderful, and live next door. So many outdoor spaces. Most people stay longer, and leave a lot of staples. Cooked on the deck and loved it.

Thankful we nabbed this location for our Durango stay. Easy walk to town for meals and to parks with our young son. Easy for our aging parents to get to. When in Durango, will def come back to this location. Thanks Teresa.
