Stayed Jun 22, 2023Upon first look we loved the home but after our first night we knew it wasn’t going to work. The beds are terrible, so uncomfortable we got the worst sleep. We stayed 8 days and were so exhausted from the lack of sleep. And there is no air conditioning so it is very hot. Can’t open windows because there is no bug screen and cockroaches/flies/centipedes come in- not to mention the dog next door barking at like 4am everyday like clockwork. We ended up sleeping with cold towels on our head it was so rough. The host was so sweet and so helpful I really think it could be a good stay with just better mattresses, air conditioning or even some fans, better wifi, and some bug screens for the windows so you can actually keep them open. The pool was fantastic, just what we needed after long days of hiking the beautiful trails that you’ll find all over the island. We made the best of the home. There are shops nearby where you can buy some supplies you’ll need, food, toilet paper, water etc. there is a washing machine and dishwasher which is a bonus but we had to buy our own soap for it. The host was available for any help needed and she replied quickly. She even helped us with our itinerary a bit. She also met us very late at night for an in person check in which was very sweet, and she gave us some of her homemade Madeira wine. We came from Canada so was our first time driving on roads and hills like the ones on the island, if you’re not comfortable driving up steep 45% hills, beware…

Stayed Jul 15, 2022The apartment was well equipped and there was plenty of space. The roads there (and everywhere in Madeira) were very steep, so be warned! The host was really great, reacting quickly to messages.

Stayed Mar 19, 2022Very nice apartment, very well equipped, very clean, modern and tastefully decorated. We would love to come back in the summer months, March was the wrong decision for us.
