Recently refurbished throughout in a fun, tropical theme, Amberjack is situated on Southard Street in the exclusive gated community of Truman Annex, very near Harry Truman’s Little White House and right in the heart of Old Town Key West; a great spot to watch the October Fantasy Fest Parade as it weaves its way past the front door. Amberjack is within easy walking distance of Mallory Dock, where the sunset is celebrated everyday: Duval Street with its shops, restaurants and entertainments, and Fort Zachary Beach where there is a beachside café and awesome snorkelling. In less than a 2 minute walk there is a deli/convenience store, Coffee Tea Café, Green Parrot Bar and Eaton Bikes where you can hire bikes daily or weekly at a reasonable rate. If cycling is not for you and you don’t want to hire a car, Pirate Scooters (located opposite the Green Parrot Bar) will hire you an electric car. The property does have an allocated off street parking space. Amberjack provides everything for a relaxing vacation. Fully air conditioned throughout with ceiling fans in all rooms. Downstairs there is a large living/dining/kitchen area and a half bathroom. The living area boasts a Cozy sofa that opens in to a luxurious queen bed with a ceiling fan above, two further comfy chairs, a Flatscreen TV/DVD, CD stereo, I Pod docking station and Wi Fi Broadband. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a dining table that seats four with two comfortable stools at the kitchen bar. The patio is furnished with table, chairs, parasol and electric grill; perfect for Al Fresco dining on a balmy Key West evening. Outdoor Grill. The shared pool is just 25 footfalls from the patio gate. Upstairs you will find the laundry area, with stackable washer/dryer, and two bedrooms, one queen and one twin (that can be easily converted in to a king) both with en suite bathrooms, TV’s and balconies with tables and chairs.

    Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This two-bedroom townhouse is centrally located, walking distance to almost anything you'd want to do, including a shared pool just a few steps away. It was clean and well stocked. On the negative side, the office to get the key is too far away to walk while dragging luggage, and the communications on check in came from a different email address than all the others, which was confusing. Then we had to download an app to get checkout instructions. The office is closed on the weekend which was a problem as the doors to the terrace were stuck shut and many of the kitchen cabinet doors were close to falling off. I would stay there again, but would take a small toolkit!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It is time for a re-fresh of this unit. Most everything is original. There are some major and minor maintenance issues. One of the major issues is wood rot around the door and windows in the back bedroom.One of the minor issues is the cabinet door below the kitchen sink almost falling off.The front bedroom is especially noisy with foot and vehicle noise on Southard. The front bedroom door to the porch door does not close tightly which allows some of the noise in. Replacing the doors and windows with new hurricane doors and windows would help some. The front bed itself isn't the most comfortable and should be replaced.The stair carpeting is worn and your bare feet will show dirt from walking on them. The unit itself is a very nice but being over 30 years old, it is showing it's age and needs to be updated.

Reviewer Comments: Amberjack is in a great location. 2 bed/2.5 bath has plenty of room. 2 porches and 2 balconies provide lots of outdoor space. Condo could definitely use some updating/fixes. Kitchen faucet was broken, cabinet doors were very loose, toilet was worn and scratched up. Bathrooms were very dated.

Reviewer Comments: We’ve stayed in several townhouses in the same price point and general location, unfortunately this one was the smallest and most in need of updating as well as some basic maintenance. If you’re looking for something a little more quiet, this is not the rental for you. Being at the entrance sounds like a great idea, but it is very noisy early in the morning with numerous garbage and work trucks rolling in and out.The cleaning staff did a great job and as always Compass Realty makes the whole process easy.
