Franklin, North Carolina
We are so excited to list our freshly remodeled craftsman house that features 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and can accommodate up to 11 guests. 8 adults on FOUR (4) king size beds and 3 kids (toddlers to teens) on a bunk bed with trundle. Our bed count are real beds with real mattresses, not fold out couch or air mattress nonsense.
All of the bedrooms have direct bathroom access and a large flat screen HD TV with YouTube TV (70+ channels). All of the rooms have smart TV streaming too.
Perfect for the extended family or couples get-away retreat, with bedrooms and bathrooms on several floors. Long range mountain and valley views that the pictures simply cannot do justice.
Plenty of seating in the family room that offers a fireplace, 2 large couches and 2 leather recliner chairs with ottomans. You can sit and drink in the mountain views thru wall length, picture windows. There is a small reading nook on the upper landing with a nice recliner and extra lighting.
The remodeled kitchen features new cabinets, lighting, and granite counter tops. Dining table with seating and service for 10.
We have a large wrap-around covered deck that features a secure gate to keep the little ones (and the dogs) safe. There is covered car port parking that is a step from the house. Outdoor firepit (firewood not provided - bagged firewood can be bought at most of the local grocery stores) with picnic table and play area.
Minutes to downtown Franklin (~7 miles) with paved road access up to the house. Shopping is a quick 10 minutes away (Walmart, Ingles, Food Lion, Dollar Tree, several local restaurants and more).
See the amenities tab for more details of what we offer our guests.
Pets (dogs) are welcome. We charge a non-refundable $50 pet fee for first dog and $25 for each additional dog (3 dogs max).
The road up to the house is pretty normal for the locals, but it can seem a little bit steep for others. But no worries, the road is paved all the way to the house and any 2-wheel drive car or truck can navigate it. Just go the speed limit and you will be fine.
Looking for a more active get-away then don’t forget your hiking boots or golf clubs, there are two public golf courses that are less than 20 minutes away. Franklin/Macon County has 16 local water falls, world renown gem mining, with numerous biking and hiking trails including the Appalachian Trail and Bartram Trail along with many other trails.
Take into account these 5 items when looking for your vacation stay.
1. It should have a view. You’re in the mountains, you want to see mountains. Our house has unblocked long range views. One guest called it "The Million Dollar View."
2. You should be close to town and shopping. Our place is less than 15 minutes to major shopping areas. Don't spend vacation time on a 45-minute (one-way) ride to the grocery store or town.
3. Look for homes on a paved road. There are some beautiful places that are hard to get to due to bad, hard to navigate, dirt roads. Look for paved roads and not rocky, muddy, ruts. Any 2-wheel drive vehicle can get to our place on a smooth paved road.
4. Real Beds. Big Beds. Beware of those offering blow up air mattresses, fold out couch beds, cots, 2 adults in a double bed (or even a queen), or other nonsense in their sleep count. Our house has FOUR (4) KING sized beds for the adults and a bunk bed and trundle (with real mattresses) for the kids. We sleep an honest 8 adults and 3 kids/teens in real beds.
5. This seems minor, but this is important - The deck faces East/Southeast. You sit in shade on the deck in the afternoon facing away from the setting sun. West facing decks get brutalized by the afternoon sun. You'll understand once you sit out in the cool shade during the afternoon enjoying happy hour.
We truly believe that you will enjoy our house as it is family friendly, ultra-comfortable, clean and cozy with jaw-dropping views. Please be our guest.
Easy check-in. Home is wonderfully located between downtown Franklin and Highlands with a view that will make you smile! Host is very responsive and helpful. Plenty of room for our family to enjoy our holiday!
We had a blast at the house. The view was incredible and the house was super cozy and had plenty of room for all of us. The location was great, we really enjoyed exploring the area. Definitely would stay again if we are out that way!
We had a wonderful week staying at the Cooper House. Checkin was easy and we had enough space for all our family. The kitchen was stocked with spices which was nice, and we took advantage of the grill and fire pit. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous with the leaves changing colors.
Wonderful view. Had everything! Fabulous beds. Perfect for our family.
First of all, the view! Oh my goodness!! Awesome! The house is beautiful, the beds are so comfortable, the location is perfect for Franklin or the Highlands. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure!
Very welcoming and comfortable property with a wonderful view. We found plenty of private and gathering space indoors and out. Cooking in the fully equipped kitchen and grilling on the deck as well as fishing and hiking was a joy. The owners put a lot of thoughtfulness into this rental. They were available and helpful from the time of booking through our visit. We have a lot of meaningful memories!
We absolutely loved this very beautiful unique mountain home!!! Beautiful views from all three floors. Very relaxing back porch with the freshest feeling and smelling air. The bedroom and bathroom locations were just right for our family. The teenagers stayed in the two bedrooms upstairs, us retirees stayed on the main floor, and the teenager’s parents stayed on the basement floor. Great living and kitchen areas beautifully decorated. The wood was just the right touch. Loved the latches on the doors. We sat around the fire pit one evening making s’mores and listening to the creature sounds. Waterfalls and natural sites were just up the main road as you come down the mountain. Couldn’t ask for a more beautiful, relaxing, stress free environment. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!!
This cabin & location was ideal for our needs. We had 3 couples and 4 adult kids, the youngest of which took the bunkbeds. We were comfortable and enjoyed the views, especially sunrise & sunset. Also, the hummingbird activity was quite entertaining.
The view off the back porch is breathtaking! The owners have an eye for details like making sure the kitchen is stocked with spices, coffee filters, handy small appliances, etc. as well as leaving wood bundles for the fire pit on the back porch. There are helpful instructions for how to run the cooling and heating systems and there were plenty of beach towels for the family of six to take with us when we explored the nearby waterfalls. We’d stay here again next time we are the area.
Wonderful hosts, amazing view, great deck (with a gate to keep dogs and little ones safe), fire pit, plenty of room. Highly recommend.
A perfect house for our family of 9. The view was spectacular, the house was very comfortable! We highly recommend!
Our weekend getaway was just what we needed. It was peaceful and comfortable. Thank you!
The house was well equipped with everything you need and very dog friendly! Amazing views!
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. The views were amazing, the kitchen was well-stocked and there was adequate seating for our group of six adults and two children. We will definitely visit again. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Four adults & plenty of room for everyone. Views from the back porch were amazing. Close to hiking & shopping. Plenty of info in the cabin for planning hiking adventures. Owners were amazing & made themselves available for any questions & needs we had.
Family from three generations really enjoyed our stay at this lovely mountain home! It had everything we needed, and the view from the large windows and huge open decks were great. Everyone had their privacy with the 4 bedrooms, and we were able to enjoy cooking and serving dinner for 10 (including other family in the area), and watching football in the living room. The kitchen isn't huge, but was more than adequate and very well stocked. We made sure to check, but with bedrooms on 3 levels, just make sure you know that if stairs are a problem for anyone, they might be limited to the master on the main level. Thank you to our hosts Joe & Becky, who were very easy to communicate with and aimed to please.
This place was the perfect little family getaway. The surroundings were serene and the home was clean and cozy. There were tons of fun things to do in the area as well. The drive to the house was very steep and narrow but manageable. The only issues we had were with the shower heads. Almost everyone in my family is tall (6 feet plus) and the shower heads didn’t go up past mid chest. Manageable but not very comfortable. The only adjustable shower head was in the master bedroom. Other than that our stay was perfect!
My brother got married at Castle Ladyhawke. This place has amazing views. I would call it the million-dollar view. The beds were very comfortable. The town was easy to get to when we needed things. We will definitely use this place again. Definitely a great experience
Really enjoyed the property and the great views.
