Welcome to ‘Key Lime.’ This iconic Seaside, Florida, single-story beach cottage with wrap-around porches and operable shutters closely follows traditional, vernacular cottages built generations ago in waterfront towns along the Panhandle! As featured in Seaside Style, Key Lime is located midway between the beach and the West Side Pool, on the footpath to the town center, and has access to the private Odessa Street Beach Pavilion.

The shaded side yard deck with generous amounts of Adirondack seating, a grill, and outdoor string lighting maximizes your outdoor living experience. Step through double mahogany screen doors and into a deep front and side porch, and the magic of this house unfolds. A tastefully decorated interior offers a continuous living room that features a 55 Smart TV and dining space at the center of the house, with soaring ceiling and cypress beams to give an open coastal cottage feel. Two sets of custom mahogany French doors in the living room swing out to the porches to savor the outdoors. V-groove wood walls and ceilings, and maple wood floors are throughout the house, and an antique chandelier brings a bit of old world to the central dining area. A charming, well-equipped kitchen is tucked just off the living room, which features a separate ice maker.

Key Lime features four bedrooms, arranged into three suites that anchor the corners of the home. At the front of the residence, guests can locate a queen bedroom with a full bath, as well as direct access to the front porch. At the back of the house, a primary suite features a king-size bed, double closets, and a double vanity with a walk-in shower. The primary suite opens to both the front and back porches. On the other back corner, a family suite features a full bath with a tub shower combo, a bunk room with four beds, and a queen bedroom with an additional half bath. This layout was designed with our guests' convenience in mind, as one can walk through the bunk room to access the queen bedroom or enter directly from the back porch.

The heart of the house is the deep screen porch that wraps around the front and side of the house, accommodating a mahogany table with seating for 8. Plantation chairs and vintage rattan furniture complete this screened area for relaxing with a glass of wine or a morning cup of coffee. An equally deep porch with a bed swing at the rear of the house affords the primary bedroom and rear queen bedroom a quiet, private outdoor retreat.

Additional amenities: Charcoal Grill, 2 adult bikes, outdoor shower, washer/dryer, and a manicured yard with al-fresco dining. The fireplace is decorative only.

Key Lime is perfectly situated near the pool on the west side of Seaside as well as only a handful of houses down from 30A. The screened porch is perfectly designed with a long table for outdoor dining and a seating area with a game table. Really comfortable. I loved that the home is all on one level - perfect for children. Super cute bunkroom!

Bedrooms are privately situated with the family room, kitchen and wonderful screened in porch the center of the house. Everything was ready for us to enjoy Seaside from the moment we arrived. Our family included 6 adults and 2 children and Key Lime provided perfect spaces for each of us to be together and yet have areas when quiet time was needed. The property management company agents were also very helpful and responded immediately when we needed a replacement coffee machine and even helped with a forgotten issue after we checked out. Overall our vacation at Key Lime was a wonderful , relaxing and unforgettable family experience.

Reviewer Comments: Key Lime is in a great location close to the beach and west side pool. It accommodated our family of ten but there were two major drawbacks:The back two bedrooms were extremely cold. They must not be insulated properly. This cottage should not be rented in the colder months until it is fixed. I had to sleep with four blankets.The floors were dirty. We have found this to be a universal problem at Seaside. We rent houses at Seaside almost every summer and at New year’s. For the past few years the floors have been filthy, with the soles of our feet blackened with dirt shortly after arrival.We have been renting at Seaside for over thirty years and I didn’t recall this being a problem until the past few years. Maybe coincides with the invention of the Swiffer. Swishing dirt around a floor does not clean it. Hot water, a good mop and a cleaner made for wooden floors may seem old-fashioned but it works.
