Nice property. Great views. Beautiful area. In floor heat nice feature. Disappointed with house for the cost: House not very clean upon arrival, lots of cobwebs everywhere, dirt by patio door, and crumbs on kitchen floor. No lamps in the bedrooms. No firewood provided for fireplace - firepit. Kitchen did not have hot water, kitchen faucet not mounted so moved all over each time it was used, no light above the stove, non functioning can opener (should be tossed & replaced), oven not working properly, dishwasher very smelly and had remnants of previous food debris, no dishwasher soap provided, only 1 wine glass in cupboard, dishes were chipped. no vacuum: only provided 2 kitchen hand towels, very sparse amenities. Description of amenities provided in listing were not accurate, plan on bringing A LOT of things from home for your stay.
Great property, fabulous location. Needs more than one wine glass. Can opener needs to be replaced. Good news is the neighbors were kind enough to loan us their can opener.
Plenty of room for family of 5 and 2 dogs. Very nicely kept home. Great back yard and views. Would definitely stay again!
The property is beautiful but closer to 10 miles outside of Grand Marais, rather than the 5.1 miles on the website. Amenities in the property are sparse—no hairdryers, no washer/dryer, no lamps in the bedrooms, no bureaus in most if the bedrooms, shabby linens, and marginal toiletries. It was curious that despite adequate glassware, there was only one wine glass and one champagne flute. Considering how beautiful the house is, the property company could invest in these type of amenities to make your stay remarkable rather than ordinary. Also be sure to print out information on how to access the property. There is no cell coverage once you arrive until you’re actually inside and can set up Wi-Fi.
The house has everything we wanted and needed. It was impeccably clean. If you bring a boat, you’ll need to launch at the public access. The resort next door will allow you to park your bait at their dock for a nominal fee if you ask nicely and they have space:
We spent a wonderful week on Devil Track Lake at this property. The house was as described. 8 of us stayed here comfortably. Easy access to the lake and not too far of a drive to Grand Marais and other locations. Everyone at the resort was friendly. The resort dogs were cute too!
Comfortable and fun stay including hiking, fishing, campfire and shopping. Great kitchen and open floor plan for a big group.
Need a can opener that works. Brighter bulbs in kitchen. Dishwasher had corn in it and there wasn’t any dishwasher soap. There weren’t any coffee filters. Could use a vacuum cleaner and a mop. The beds were very comfortable and the view was awesome! Could use a footrest for viewing tv. Loved the house and we loved our stay.
Only gripe, if I pay a cleaning fee, that means I don’t have to do any cleaning! Why do guests still have to take out the garbage?!? That’s BS.
Nice big, clean house for the family. Secluded but close enough to town and a nice restaurant next door. Loved our stay!
Great location and set-up for our family! Floors were not very clean and there were not enough towels at the house when we arrived, but host was very responsive when we called to get more.
Nice location, but the condo did not appear to be cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. Bathrooms were dirty and we found remnants of other guests personal belongings in the living room and bedrooms. Tv downstairs didn't have a remote so the den was pointless. Deck wasn't shoveled but one of our friends kindly shoveled off the 3+ feet of snow so we could enjoy the view of the lake from the deck they showcase in the photos. Good location and management was prompt with responses throughout the weekend.
Something’s to consider: Lamps at bedside would have been nice. Upstairs toilet ran. Need a light above the stove. Had wrong dumpster key. We enjoyed staying there very much.!
No frills and simple. Bring firewood and any specific kitchen needs, but property was clean and views and fireplace were awesome.
We had a great family get a way in grand marais. Nice place to stay! Conveniently next to an awesome restaurant. And nice location to town.
We loved our stay. There's a lot of room, it was very clean and the communication was clear. Great option for a North Shore vacation.
Nice clean cabin! Very roomy. Pretty well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Patio furniture down by the fire pit needs replacing. Nice mowed path along the lake over to the dock/swimming area a few cabins over but no direct access to the lake as cabin is up on a hill. We enjoyed our stay very much. So much to do in the area. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. ?
Great location, close to town. Great Lake.
This property is exactly as it looks online with no extras. Very large, which is nice if you have a lot of kids. 3 bedrooms that are good size, and extra space in bedroom. Very barebones property. Chairs outside were dirty and spider-webby. No cushions or extra blankets anywhere. Kitchen was well appropriated. No firewood. Access to lake from this property is non-existent. Need to walk down a steep incline, which is fine for older kids and adults, not fine for young kids, people with balance issues, or knee/back problems. Be aware the cabins are VERY close to each other and NOT PRIVATE. We only found one point of lake access close to the property -- which is the resort driveway. Lake is good sized for fishing, but not great for swimming. Only 8 miles from Grand Marais, which was a plus. So depending upon what you want, it may be a good place to stay, but really not private or extra. Space wise, the cabin was generous and good t.v.'s.
