Absolutely loved this property and everything it entailed… will be back for sure!

The property was within easy walking distance to the Halls Gap shops and restaurants. It was well appointed and comfortable. We had kangaroos grazing in the back yard and next door each evening.

Perfect location to walk anywhere and quiet with plenty of birdlife.

This is a fantastic property in a great location and the hosts have thought of everything you could really need in holiday accommodation. The kangaroos in the yard were also great to watch. I can’t recommend this property enough and would definitely stay here again. Thanks for having us.

It is such a convenient location to local restaurants & cafes, many walks can be accessed by foot from the property itself . The majority of walks /hikes are a short drive away with ample parking .

Close to shops

Excellent accommodation, exceptionally clean with everything supplied for a great stay. Shops at end of road and close to variety of eateries.

Whilst the house was very cute, comfortable and close to everything in town. We arrived to a house with only half electricity and no firepit, which was meant to be a highlight of our trip and something we were very much looking forward to. It took 1.5 days to get a response from the nominated contact regarding our concerns.

Check in was really easy. The property is very clean and well maintained. In particular the bathroom is excellent. It has a spa bath and the shower is sensational with a large footprint and brilliant water pressure.The beds are large and comfortable.Super location in the heart of Halls Gap.Highly recommended.

We cannot recommend this property highly enough. Perfect central location in a quiet street and easy walking for all Halls Gap amenities. Host Tara was delightful to deal with and very responsive, we extended our stay over the Aust Day weekend with no issue at all. The house is generously stocked with all requirements for a very comfortable stay. Fantastic outdoor areas, front and back of house and lots of wildlife visitors. HG is very dry and with the recent fires as well, the garden is a bit neglected and outdoor tables/chairs needed a clean but this was a very minor issue in an otherwise outstanding stay. We will be back soon hopefully - the nearby Kookaburra Bistro & Bar is a must visit!!

Amaroo Retreat is a beautiful, well appointed house in Halls Gap. It is spotlessly clean and has been decorated in a tastefully modern and appealing way. The gardens are delightful and well kept, the children enjoyed going for a wander in the backyard through what felt like their own private secret garden. The location is outstanding - you are right in the heart of town and only need to cross the road at the end of the street to get to a range of restaurants, bars and even a brewery. You are also literally on the doorstep of so many kangaroos and other wildlife that frequent the field across the road from the house. Tamara, the host, is so lovely to deal with, she was very generous and kind to us with our booking. Don't think twice about booking this place, it will exceed your expectations. We can't wait to be back some day soon.

Amaroo Retreat is located right in the heart of Halls Gap. The property is clean, well equiped and the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Beautifull stay, could start the walks directly from the house

The dirty towels with blood stains left in the bathtub was unpleasant. A blood stain on a pillow case was also found.

The house was comfortable and well equipped and very close to the shops and walking tracks

We had a wonderful stay at Amaroo, it is a short walk to the main street of Halls Gap. The house itself was clean, peaceful, very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. Relaxing by a fire watching the kangaroos hop past was awesome.

House was well located, close to everything and clean. Perfect for 3 or 4 days away. Will def consider going back again!
