Adventure awaits at Almost Heaven A-frame in the wooded hills of Alpine Lake Resort in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia. Complete with 6-seat barrel sauna, this fully-restored three-bedroom, one-bath mid-century classic a-frame sleeps six and offers many amenities. The cabin is located on a quiet street in close walking distance to the lake and beach area.

Guests can look forward to a new kitchen, comfortable beds, high speed internet, gas grill, onsite hikingand biking trails, a stocked lake for fishing, a beautiful 18-golf course, beach area with restroom facilities, canoe and kayak rentals, indoor pool and fitness center, and restaurant. In the winter, cross country skiing trails wind through a hemlock forest and over rolling hills.

Relax on the cabin’s spacious wraparound porch, enjoy a fire, play games, or explore nearby destinations like Deep Creek Lake, Swallow Falls, Blackwater Falls, the stunning Canaan Valley, and Coopers Rocks. Stop in High Ground Brewing for West Virginia’s finest craft beer and live music or visit Screech Owl Brewing for its friendly hospitality, delicious brews, and free roaming peacocks.

Art lovers can make the short trip to the Simon Pearce glass factory in nearby Oakland, MD or check out the many art galleries of Thomas, WV. For foodies, the Saturday Farmer’s Market in Oakland is a must! Pawn Run Bar + Kitchen, the Green Room Cocktail Lounge, 206 Alder Bistro & Bar, and Moonshadow are also worth a visit. For the best coffee and a tasty breakfast or lunch, head to Portland Coffee in nearby Terra Alta.

Stay Requirements:
Guests must be at least 21 to reserve this cabin.
2-night minimum stay
No pets allowed: A fee of up to $500 will apply for unpermitted pets.
What`s provided: Linens, towels, dishes, and a starter basket (toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry detergent, and sponge) are included. Guests must bring their own additional toiletries, paper products, trash bags, and dish soap.

IMPORTANT WINTER TRAVEL NOTICE

AWD or 4WD with adequate snow tires is REQUIRED during winter months.
Alpine Lake Resort roads are not treated with salt or chemicals and are maintained only with cinders due to environmental reasons. Snow, ice, and multiple steep hills throughout the resort can make travel difficult or impossible for vehicles without proper winter capability. All-season tires, front-wheel drive, and rear-wheel drive are often insufficient.
Guests who arrive without appropriate vehicles may be unable to access the property. No refunds will be issued due to weather, road conditions, or vehicle limitations. No refunds will be given for any fees associated with towing, should a vehicle need to be recovered/towed due to snowy/icy conditions it is the guests responsibility to facilitate recovery and pay the towing company.
No pets
No smoking in the home-if smoking outside please dispose of trash/butts appropriately.
Park only in the gravel driveway, do not park in the grass.
Trash must be placed in the bear box and secured.
Lock all doors and windows.
