Fairbanks, Alaska
Beautiful rustic log cabin in the golden heart valley of Fairbanks, large master bedroom with 1/4 bath , loft with two single beds with a loft style ladder for access , full kitchen, sun room , Balcony for viewing the Northern Lights, large landscaped yard , beautiful birch tree’s. Close to trails and dog mushing association, warm yourself bye the fire after a long day , this is a real Alaska style cabin .
It has many unknow yellow liquid stains near the kitchen floor and there is no wifi access in this property as it was advertised. The owner was not very responsive and didn't reply my messages, calls and voicemails until several hours later.
Great experience Property is as described. If you want to experience a rustic cabin in Alaska with modern comforts like indoor plumbing, hot shower, TV and WiFi. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, knives, silverware and dishes. The bed is comfortable with nice pillows. This cabin would be a great base camp for a family that wishes to explore Fairbanks. The upstairs loft has two twin beds, dresser and closet. The location is in the woods enough that it is silent and you can hear nature. Yet minutes away from town (Costco, Safeway, Starbucks, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, REI, Fred Meyer, pretty much anything that you need to pick up can be found in town.) The University of Alaska Fairbanks is near this location. UAF has the Museum of the North and the Large Animal Research Center - both are well worth the visit !! Best of all is the host, Christian, he is a super friendly guy with cool vintage cars and trucks. He is also a great dad. He truly makes your stay an Alaskan experience. He is commutative and responds quickly. He is a great resource for the area. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Fairbanks.
Cute little cabin. Very rustic. Shower is a closet with minimal hot water so, make it quick! Comfy beds. Sink in main bedroom works. Turn it on underneath but it does not turn off so you'll have to shut it off underneath as well. Google maps takes you to the cabin down the road but it's the turn right before. Well posted signs. Loved it here and we hope to come back someday. Thank you!
All the comforts of home.
Beds were filthy, spouse got stabbed by a spring coming through. Couch was infested with mice. Left a night early due to these issues.
We had a lovely stay at the Alaska cabin! An adorable home, clearly made with a lot of love. Owners were communicative and accommodating. We particularly loved the choice of reading materials, a wonderful collection of books and magazines.
Unique hand built log cabin outside of town. Very quiet area with beautiful sunsets. Funky but clean furnishings. Definitely an Alaskan experience! The weather was typical for interior Alaska summer - hot! The ceiling fan keeps the cabin comfortable if you open the door to the enclosed porch at night and let the cool air circulate.
Cold not enough blankets. Power out first night. Internet never worked. Blew fuse by using hair dryer (average one). Some response (eventually) from property manager.
We wanted basic lodging for our stay in Fairbanks and this cabin fit the bill nicely. The beds are comfortable and everything we needed worked fine. We didn’t cook but if one wanted to, the supplies are there. We enjoyed being just a little away from town. We would gladly stay again.
My purpose for this trip was Aurora photography. This cabin was in an excellent location to travel both north and east for good viewing sites. During the day, the cabin was clean and had all I needed for a pleasant stay. I did have to be careful about the height of interior doors and the beam running through the middle of the bedroom (I'm 6'3). The low ceilings were, after all, typical, since this was a real Alaska log cabin. The bedroom was heated, but the rest of the cabin relied on a wood burning stove (plenty of wood supplied). I would suggest some instructions on operating the stove, since I'm unaccustomed to using one and had some difficulty maintaining the fire with the door closed.. I would definitely consider a return here for future Aurora chasing trips.
Cabin was peaceful and clean. Bed was comfortable and water was plenty hot. Saw an Arctic Rabbit and a Woodpecker. Lovely view from loft deck.
Loved the quiet location and nice yard for our Fur babies. Very relaxing to sit on porch and enjoy the evening. Very comfortable and cozy. Real Alaskan Cabin. Good location for our stay to get to Doggie Daycare while we toured, and tour locations.
Cabin had everything I needed. The owner, Chris, went above and beyond, making sure that I was comfortable in the cabin. Great place, if you’re looking for a true Alaskan experience!
