Stayed Jul 20, 2023We rented Casa Blanca for a family gathering in conjunction with Iron Man. The property is fantastic and the location is also fantastic sitting just minutes from downtown Lake Placid. Hiking trails are within walking distance and the area is very quiet. The hot tub and fire pit outside were put to good use along with the kitchen and huge dining area.

Stayed Aug 2, 2023Casa Blanca is an exceptional house with plenty of space and things to do on the property. Beautiful views and ideal quiet location. The house is nicely updated and the WiFi is super fast! Working with Ann was excellent. She treated us like family and was always available. She gave us great tips about the house and activities in the area. Looking forward to coming back next year. Highly recommend.

Stayed Feb 10, 2023Martha, manager and owner as one person, extremely kind, enthusiastic, and full of passion, she took our group in the check in day for a turn around her beautiful house. The location is excellent, close to Olympic Ski Complex, close to the Lake Placid town, all kind of hike trails, and to go just to relax in a beautiful countryside. We highly recommend everyone, especially for a larger group. Martha, thank you for everything ❤️

Stayed Sep 1, 2021From first contact to lingering great memories, everything about our Adirondacks experience at Casablanca was superlative. Both the owners and the manager could not have been kinder, more responsive, or more accommodating. Before the trip they gave us leads on guides, hikes, stores, and local chefs. When we arrived, the manager gave us a detailed, highly useful tour of the house, its technology, and superbly outfitted kitchen. Our initial impression was a grand, high-end house on a lovely estate. The breathtaking views of mountains and beautiful gardens from the dining room and expansive patio and hot tub kept us in awe all week. The house served our dozen well-travelled hikers very well, except for being a little further than we'd hoped to major trailheads. We had no significant issues, just an initial misunderstanding of the floor heating system on the lower level. The consensus was that it was a great house to rent for the week, and one that I would love to return to.

Stayed Jul 3, 2021There is much to like about this property but there were some issues. First the good: The location is excellent, close to Lake Placid town, yet out in beautiful countryside. The back yard was lovely, beautiful plantings. Beautiful view. The house is definitely large enough for a large family with plenty of room to spread out, adequate indoor seating. The kitchen was incredible, anything you want to cook with and a large fridge. The negatives: We got a bad first impression at check in. The owner took an inordinate amount of time to show us around including areas such as son's weight room, that we weren't allowed to use. We were tired and still had to unload, settle, cook dinner. A shorter tour would have sufficed. She kept telling us that this is the house she lives in year round and by the end of the tour we felt uncomfortable with the idea that we were in her personal space . The house had a sweet chemical smell that made us sneeze. Finally figured out it was those little plug in air fresheners. We unplugged them and opened windows and all was well. But the overall vibe was more suburban home than Adirondack Mountains, so not really the vacation feel we were hoping for. Practically speaking it is a large home, but the appliances were all those small ones used in apartments (to be fair, there are two sets of washer/dryers but both small). Dishwasher also smaller size so that we had to run it frequently. My initial negative impression was reinforced by the mold I discovered in the coffee pot from an old filter that had never been emptied. Lastly, the description was inaccurate. Hot tub fit 6, not 12 as advertised (which was no problem since we never wanted to all sit in it at once, still it should have been accurate). It is not in walking distance of hiking trails - they are nearby but would take quite a while to walk to, and fooseball table was broken. The promised ping pong table didn't arrive until half-way through the stay. Even more problematic, Her grandson showed up with it at 9 am without calling first to make sure people were up and about. He did come back later at my request, but seemed surprised that we would have wanted to know that they were coming. Lastly, the outdoor furniture was old and not really comfortable, and there weren't enough chairs for outdoor eating table so we were unable to take advantage of the lovely setting for meals. I will say the house grew on me over the week, and we did have a lovely time.

Stayed Jul 26, 2020We are a family with grown adults, spouses and a 2 year old. This was an oasis of peace, quiet and spacious gentle pleasures for a week. We cooked the entire time, hiked, read, played badminton, watched Netflix, hung out in the hot tub and loved loved loved the view. Anne was there to welcome us and instruct us when we arrived. The owners are very nice. Highlights are the patio which felt palatial and very safe for our 2-year-old, the well-stocked and equipped kitchen, the well-functioning and large gas-fire outdoor grill, the expansive yard and the view of the mountains as the clouds changed. The large house is on a dead end road so there is little traffic and that little is far from the house. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all super comfortable and the common spaces were generous and numerous. All the utilities worked well with no issues. The internet was strong but occasionally had some minor issues with disconnecting - no big deal. One of the best things was being able to eat at a large table on the patio and look at the mountains. My daughter said she is going back and, we all felt that way. One of the most peaceful wonderful vacations we have ever had.

Stayed Mar 12, 2020Overall was a great house for a large group, House was beautiful. Wonderful kitchen and well stocked, very comfortable beds, awesome views, huge dinning table and wonderful hot tub and awesome fireplace. Only issue we had was after check in we had issue with not being able to shut off oven, left phone message about needing help to turn it off and never got return call back?? Luckily we figured it out but not sure the fix was how it should be turned off. Outside of that it was a relaxing, picturesque mountain house, no need to go anywhere.
