'Acadia Retreat' Beckons to Those Who Want a Peaceful Setting!

The house was very clean and inviting. The property is absolutely fantastic. We definitely wished we remembered to bring some outdoor games.

There is so much attention to detail. There were notes on how to work heat and AC, where things were located, places to visit with a whole rack of pamphlets. Kitchen has anything you would need and everything in the house is well organized. Lorie is a very responsive and thoughtful host. I HIGHLY recommend this home. It is very family friendly. Did I mention what a wonderful host Lorie is?

The house is very clean. The exposed wood room is an add-on but is done well and makes for a good teenage room. There are two bathrooms, and the add-on room shares with the second bathroom so be aware if you have teenage women sharing the second bathroom to stage occupancy. The property is quiet, great for outdoor star gazing, and a good gravel road for morning or evening walks.

Acadia Retreat was a great place to stay for a four day getaway in Acadia / Bar Harbor. Very peaceful with wildlife in the yard - we saw deer and wild turkeys in the backyard. Very close to Acadia entrances including Cadillac Mountain, and about an hour away from Schoodic Peninsula which is about an hour’s drive but worth it! Also close to a number of very good restaurants!

We had an amazing week at the Acadia Retreat House. It was so cozy and clean. The living room had plenty of comfy seating, and the house was beautifully decorated. Everything was just perfect! Plus, it was super close to the new Acadia Gateway Center, which has a huge parking lot. You can even take the free Island Explorer buses to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. And guess what? There are several great restaurants nearby, so you don’t have to go all the way to Bar Harbor for dinner. I highly recommend this rental!

Lovely secluded spot in the woods. A bit farther from downtown Bar Harbor proper & entrance to Acadia National Park than was suggested by listing. Full kitchen & amenities made staying at Acadia Retreat very pleasant.

Lorie was wonderful to work with! She was informative and answered all of our questions before and during our stay. The house was impeccably clean, and the layout was perfect for our family. The location was close to the national park and downtown Bar Harbor.

Great place to stay, very quiet and peaceful. Also with 4 kids we need plenty of space, the house and yard accommodated that for us. Would def recommend!

This place was fantastic. Very quaint. Good location. We enjoyed not being right inside Bar Harbor and had proximity to a lot of good, local restaurants. Nothing on the island was more than a 30 minutes drive. The place was clean and it had pretty much everything you could've needed as well. Communication with the owner was fantastic. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet getaway with family or friends.

The house was spotless and had everything you would need from cooking, baking and laundry supplies, to books, magazines and brochures for anything you could do in and around Acadia National Park. It is in a quiet neighborhood, with a private drive about 10 miles from downtown Bar Harbor. We would not hesitate to stay here again!

Excellent overall experience for our first visit to Bar Harbor! Lorie was an excellent host, and her home was perfect for us. Plenty of room, including a large yard with lots of privacy. The home was well appointed, with all of the key household items included. Location was ideal, as well being centrally located between Bar Harbor center and Acadia National Patrick. We can’t wait to return!

We had a wonderful stay at the Acadia Retreat. The layout was very comfortable for our family of five. The house had everything we needed and was very clean. The location is in a residential neighborhood, a bit away from the more hectic and touristy area around Bar Harbor -- and well situated so that we could easily reach any and all Acadia destinations as well as off-island spots like Tidal Falls and Trenton/Ellsworth.

We were very happy with this beautiful home. There was everything you could possibly want or need. Very cozy and comfortable and extremely clean! Lots of great restaurants near and lots to do. We had a couple rainy days and there were great museums to go to close by! Had a great vacation!

We had a wonderful time at Spruce Lodge. The hosts described the accommodations perfectly and had a long list of suggestions for activities and entertainment in the area. The location is ideal for those seeking a get away that's not too far from Acadia but has its own beautiful setting in the woods near the water. We all enjoyed morning and/or evening walks down to the point to check out the tides and point. - The house is very cozy, clean and comfy with all necessities provided. The hosts are easy to get in contact with and responded to questions immediately. Top notch vacation!

We absolutely loved staying at this property in Acadia. Lorie is an absolute gem and goes above and beyond to make the experience wonderful for guests. The home has everything you need for at least a week stay and is comfortable to hang out at and relax. I was worried when I booked that it was a little farther away from Bar Harbor but there is actually plenty close by. There is both a coffee shop and the highly rated Travelin Lobster within walking distance. I would highly recommend to anyone!
