Stayed Aug 4, 2025Such fun. Lovely house, though we spent little time there due to crabbing. Bring your own laundry soap & dryer sheets. Would love to go back next year.,

Stayed Jul 3, 2019The location was great. House was everything it was marketed as. So that was good!!! The downsides: AT&T phone service was zero bars; not a deal killer, but was annoying to have to walk 2 blocks to make or receive a call. As we saw from other reviews, the house could use some updating, both in cabinetry, appliances, and furniture. Still, we had a great time, and would do it again!

Stayed Aug 26, 2018This property reflected what was advertised. Found it clean and tidy. 4 blocks from Twin Rocks beach access. The owners were easy to communicate with and answered questions quickly.

Stayed Sep 10, 2025We had a mixed experience: the location is excellent, close enough to the beach, short walk to a boardwalk to a really old cedar tree, quiet neighborhood. The place was clean and tidy. The large bed was comfortable. One issue that may not be the fault of the owners: On entering the driveway, you go over a culvert, and there's a bad dip in the gravel on each side of the culvert, causing the bottom of the car to scrape every time. We enjoy reading, but lighting is a challenge. There are no lights in the comfy-seating area, so at night the recliner and other chair are in relative darkness. The kitchen is well-lighted by a fluorescent fixture that comes on only if one flicks the light switch just right. Both bedrooms and the bathroom were missing some bulbs. There is a wood stove, kindling and wood provided, but no matches. Kitchen appliances, for example glass-top range, were fine, although the microwave was tricky: it has to be unplugged or it won't let the door open. There are literally hundreds of DVDs and videotapes, but the instructions provided are wrong, and we never were able to watch any of them, even though I'm a pretty good tech guy and spent over an hour trying. (I've asked the hosts to update the instructions.) There were no books or magazines to read, other than tourist guides.

Stayed Aug 17, 2025The floors were dirty. I had to put my shoes back on because my feet were getting sandy on the 1st day we were there. The shower was also very dirty. Other than that it's a cute place to stay

Stayed Jun 21, 2025My family loved this cozy house. The walk was shorter than I expected to the beach, although you do have to cross the highway. We would definitely stay here again!

Stayed Jul 7, 2025Easy beach and nature preserve access house was just what we needed plenty of space a back patio for bird watching and simple easy check in/out. We spent most of our time out of house but had a ton of movies available. Kitchen allowed us to make breakfasts really easily. Great stay.

Stayed Jul 3, 2025The house was great. The walk to the beach was short, and it was great having a crossing light on Hwy 101. The young girls enjoyed the beach. We were not there much. We were tourists going between Tillamook and Astoria. Met some nice locals who helped us determine what to see. Had an awesome time. Hated to leave the area. But hope to be back soon.

Stayed Jun 26, 2025Quiet neighborhood, good location. There were little ants, lots of spider webs, and a ditch at the end of the driveway that when we back out it hit the bottom of the front bumper really hard driving out. The beds are awful and noisy with bad bedding.

Stayed Mar 24, 2025I booked a quick get away for my 2 teens and myself for spring break. We booked for 2 nights, arrived after dark Monday night to a very hot musty smelling house, and feeling like I stepped into the 60's as far as the furniture. I turned off the heat and opened all windows for circulation. I was hoping with the alleged short walk to the beach to head out quickly while boys were sleeping. It's 2 blocks to main intersection then 2 blocks over. Arrived back at house, turn on lights and notice ants. Not only were they trailing up the wall to the window in the family room, they were on the bedside table in master and a few had hopped onto the bed, and also in the other bedroom. Between the ants and no functioning microwave, (I got away from home to rest and not cook) we left a day early. Now, I'm attempting to get partially reimbursed for the night we did not stay, VRBO is telling me the host told VRBO their cleaning lady gave me ant traps and spray. I don't think any more words are needed to summarize the hassle booking with this host has caused me. Our quick 2 night get away ended after one night and back to Portland it was. I have occasional ants in my own property, weather dependent and extra rain pushed them in.. but in my sheets? That's how bad they were. We would not recommend staying in this dated musty not the cleanest property
