Stayed Dec 23, 2024This was a fantastic experience. The beach house is huge and very comfy - plenty of space for my husband and I, our two sons, our daughter in law, my brother, his wife and daughter, and my two sisters. Me and my husband stayed in the inside/outside room where we could decide whether to sleep indoors or under the stars with only a mosquito net in between. We were steps from a non-crowded beach on the Indian Ocean and could relax in the sun and sand all day and rest on the chairs and beds back at the house. There was even a pool. Upstairs, there was an open air common room where we could talk and play games. Rehema and her team (Ali and Samuel) kept the place in great order. She is a fantastic cook and made the best samosas we’ve ever had. Very highly recommended!

Stayed Aug 26, 2024My Family and Friends a group of 8 stayed at the beach house for 4 nights. It was unforgettable and one of the most positive core experiences we have had. The house is as described. For architectural aficionados the house design which blends so seamlessly into the natural geography of the area and remains cool even in the often blazing Malindi heat is an additional interest. it gives new meaning of bed to beach! Tastefully furnished with very functional rooms that are spacious and clean. However the best part was the staff and the food. Rehema and Ali are a credit to this House. The house was clean the staff present helpful and receptive. Rehema's food a delightful experience! We felt welcome and accommodated. Rory the owner was pleasant and also very responsive. He offered assistance at all hours and kept us informed. I highly recommend the Beach House.

Stayed Dec 31, 2020Located of the house is fantastic, on the beach next to a calm and warm sea perfect for toddlers! House was spacious and offred some nice rooms. The stairs were not convenient, very steep and high, not nice for a toddler or high heels. Chef cooks very well but you really have to double check what you agreed with her every day. Covid measures were unfortunately ignored. Hygiene was poor in the kitchen. House in general was dusty and had sticky railings along the stairs etc. Compound was messy with lots of debris next to the house and servant quarters.

Stayed Jul 17, 2017Sian who manages this property was very helpful and informative. Rehema and Ali were great hosts and very accommodating from before we arrived till even after we left! The house was pretty clean (considering it is on the beach and everything) and atmosphere was amazing. We had some issues with the wifi but it was no big deal since we were there to chill anyway. There were a few things we noticed that was not available despite the listing descriptions, such as bottled waters, paper towels, washing machine, etc., so we had to spend a little extra time running errands once we got there. However, it was nice of Rehema, Ali, and Samuel to help us with basically whatever we needed, including groceries, etc. They helped us find fresh produce at a great price and even showed us where to get fresh octopus and helped us with grilling it! The place could use one more inside bathroom for the people staying in the tower room, but otherwise easily accommodated the 9 adults and 2 kids we had comfortably. I'd say this was overall a wonderful experience and we would probably book this place again if we went back to Malindi. My advice would be to talk to Sian and Rehema at least a couple of weeks in advance to work out the details. They were great!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Upon arrival at the Beach House, one cannot help but be stunned by its beauty and location. After a long flight from Berlin, and drive from Mombasa airport, this is EXACTLY where you want to end up! Being the only house on the beach, by the Malindi coast, not only do you find yourself situated in serene peace, but you are simply luxuriated by your surroundings. Waking up each morning to a beautiful sunrise, the sound of the waves, going for jogs along the beach, walking on the reef and exploring its treasures when the tide is low, swimming when the tide is high, having beach-side lunches (with fish, freshly caught that very morning by local fishermen and prepared for you by the lovely Rehema, the lady who lovingly and joyfully takes care of you during your stay), and enjoying peaceful evenings, relaxing and talking by the beach fire, fired up and kept alight (for as long as you desire) by the Maasai warriors who guard you each night. The staff are wonderful, friendly, and accommodate any need you may have, ensuring you have a pleasant stay. The understated luxury of the house makes you feel a sincere, deep comfort that complements its surroundings. Perfect for romance, having fun with friends, or a family vacation. If and when you feel the need to explore Malindi, it is a short drive away. In the town you will find plenty of bars, restaurants, markets, and shops. Plus there is an array of local activities you can do. I however, was always happy to return to the Beach House - it is simply the best place to be and has everything you need! I highly recommend long stays, if possible, but any amount of time there is worthwhile. Truly one of the most amazing experiences I have had. I simply cannot wait to go back and embrace the magic of that place, one again :-)
